Twinfinite's Reviews

Despite this, I was surprised by just how easily I ended up sinking a significant amount of time into it. You can become engrossed in the simple things, even if it's just taking photos or tearing around in a jeep like Johnny Knoxville on a three-day bender, and it is with these simple things that Jurassic World Evolution is at its best.

Shape of the World is the perfect game to pick up after a particularity stressful day at work, and promises to keep you engaged in its simple gameplay through a combination of gorgeous environments and immersive game physics. While it is a tad too short and lacks replayabilty, that first playthrough should be enough to take your mind off stressful everyday issues so you can drift around a colorful world where simply moving forward is the main objective.

4 / 5.0 - Unravel Two
Jun 11, 2018

Unravel Two may not have been at the top of players' wishlists, even those who enjoyed the first, but the addition of co-op breathes fresh air into its yarn-based platforming.

Now that we're a month into Warmind's release, the question of whether it holds up largely depends on the kind of Destiny player you are. If the recent reveal of Forsaken has you itching to play Destiny 2 again, and you're not already roped into the Season 1 expansion pass anyway, then sure, grab Warmind as it will give you access to more events to keep you busy over the summer.

Sushi Striker is pure ridiculous fun, and while it leans heavily on its core gameplay loop, it manages to keep things engaging. Nintendo has proven they have a knack for the absurd, and Sushi Striker definitely feels like it could be the foundation of a new series.

4.5 / 5.0 - Onrush
Jun 5, 2018

Since the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One released in 2013, the gaming world has been pretty devoid of arcade racers, instead opting for open-world or simulation experiences. The likes of Motorstorm, Disney's Pure, and the criminally underplayed Blur have disappeared recently, but Onrush's blend of classic arcade racing, stunning visuals, and online team-based shooter ideas make it unique enough to stand out even against the competition of old.

4 / 5.0 - Vampyr
Jun 4, 2018

Ultimately, the sum of Vampyr's emphasis on story, combat, and progression combine to produce a video gaming experience that will appeal to those outside the RPG and adventure genres that it seeks to combine. My hope is that it finds its audience so that we might yet again see Dr. Reid on an even grander scale in the future.

3 / 5.0 - Coffee Crisis

In the end, though Nick and Ashley seem like cool guys, I prefer my coffee with a little less crisis.

1.5 / 5.0 - Agony
May 29, 2018

All of the problems above spoil what little Agony does right, and as a result, it's hard to recommend Agony to anyone. The only people who should consider Agony are people that want a truly hardcore, even at the expense of enjoyment, survival horror game that will put your patience to the test.

Just accept it and move onto Third Strike, alright? Remy is love. Remy is life.

At the end of the day, I couldn't quite become the Avatar I wanted, choosing only to specialize in lightning and air spells, and zapping my enemies to death. Still, Wizard of Legend succeeds in creating a setting that's just full of so much mystery and awe.

Dark Souls Remastered is still a masterclass in level design, and it remains the pinnacle of third-person action games. Longtime fans will be pleased with the improved performance on both consoles and PC. And if you're a newcomer wondering if you should get your feet wet with this entry, the answer is an absolute, resounding ‘Yes.'

4 / 5.0 - Moonlighter
May 28, 2018

Despite the fact that Moonlighter doesn't do anything incredibly new, it still feels like a wholly unique experience. The combination of dungeons and shopkeeping creates a great gameplay loop that encourages exploration, and the game's aesthetic really helps drive everything home.

Aside from the repetition, which is, in retrospect, how many gamers got longevity out of old Castlevania games, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon is a superb game. It is ideal for gamers who want an old-school challenge as well as an old-school game in both aesthetic and design.

4 / 5.0 - Runner3
May 25, 2018

As a fan of other rhythm games on Switch such as Thumper and Voez, Runner3 definitely takes the cake as one of the best that the console has to offer. Choice Provisions has done something special with Runner3; it's a game that might make you want to scream internally over and over again, but at the same time, will make you smile from ear to ear while jamming out when you finally overcome those pesky obstacles.

In any case, I don't know why exactly Quantic Dream finally made a game I loved (as in, why it took them so long), but as a fan of Until Dawn and The Walking Dead, I'm glad I can actually add a third game to my favorites for this genre. Maybe it's because all of the characters are supposed to be robots so you're force-fed story and juxtaposition through analysis, making it easy from a writing perspective.

Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers follows a strict schedule of working, saving settlements, and enlisting in races. It may end up feeling a bit repetitive in the long run, but the game aims to mix it up with various jobs, different race track designs, and enemy variations.

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition will be a much more appealing and enticing prospect to those who haven't already played the game. This is one of the most fleshed out and content-filled Warriors games I've seen in a long time, and even if you aren't a Zelda fan, there's still plenty here to charm you if you're not turned off by the repetitive combat.
