Overall I was very happy with the experience (well that’s a relative term as their are some dark elements to the story). It’s impressive to see what Indie teams can achieve and the best part is we get games that just wouldn’t be made if the field was only open to the big production houses that have to “play it safe”.
Forza Horizon 3 is not just a racing game but it’s an experience and Playground Games have for now delivered the perfect car game for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC’s. It’s graphically amazing, boasts perfect in-game mechanics and overall, the single-player and multiplayer components work on all levels! Yes, it’s pretty much perfect with a great open-world illusion set in beautiful Australia and the only thing is missing, is that smell of rubber!
In the end, the Rise of Iron DLC expansion for Destiny shakes up this universe in order to give players new content to draw them back to this PvP and PvE shooter. Add in tweaked gameplay mechanics and some really impressive graphical treats to be found as you explore the Plaguelands and Rise of Iron will definitely keep you invested in this expansion for some very long gaming hours, especially the co-op aspect.
Dead Rising 2 and its spin-off cousin, Off the Record are solid re-releases that lack vital DLC add-ons released years ago, bringing down the value of the ports somewhat.
Dead Rising remains one of Capcom's most classic and ambitious games to-date, and the re-release is most welcome, even if a lack of new content or genuine remastering is present in the package.

So you can see that there is a ton of content here and that is even without delving into the online component of the game. It is the most accomplished basketball game out there without a doubt, and one of the most rewarding sporting games on the market at the time of writing this review. Having played it pretty much non stop since receiving it, I can thoroughly recommend this title and hope you all have as much amazing fun as I did playing it.
Bioshock the Collection is a great trip down memory lane and if you have never played these games before, it’s a must have title on the PlayStation 4 because of all the content. Best of all, the gameplay still works well today, including the graphics and outstanding audio. With interesting heroes, villains and characters that you encounter, this ‘remastered’ edition of the Bioshock series is worth having and hopefully this will inspire another Bioshock game in the near future.
Virginia shows what can happen when people with a passion for games, story telling and perhaps a touch of avant garde get together and let their collective subconscious flow. It is not too out of place to say this is an art house game… perhaps the more populist thing to call it would be an intellectual game… the important thing to know is that it has the capacity to make you think and feel and any game that can do that is certainly a worthy title to add to your collection. Virginia helps solidify the notion that games can be art!
We continue where we last left our caped crusader... Falcone in custody and a question about Bruce's parents... but what next?
For now Land It! brings just enough of a fun factor that you may want this one to grace your collection. We tested out the Xbox One version and found it a pretty fun time for a go or two. Things can get a bit tedious after a few long sessions and as I view this as a casual game, it can provide just enough distraction to be experienced in short sessions of entertainment but nothing longer.
A more than viable alternative to Street Fighter V, King of Fighters XIV offers up a refined combat system, an incredibly deep and responsive mechanical experience and a huge roster of characters, each with their own subtle martial arts discipline and varied approaches to fighting.
In the end, Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past is a very sturdy Japanese RPG on the Nintendo 3DS that offers a massive world for you to explore. Best of all, it contains an interesting time travel story as you search for the antagonists and the characters you encounter are not too clichéd but help add to the overall mythology of this title. The gameplay is great and I had no issues navigating both the menu system and the gaming world with my characters.
ReCore isn't weighed down with baggage but that might leave it feeling a little thin around the edges. Lasers and robot friends!
Whether a seasoned pro or a first time player, Madden will guide you in the right direction to fun.
If Benny Hill was adapted to a computer game... this would pretty much be it.
Ninja Pizza Girl will tug on your emotions as it delivers a strong powerful message about adversity and positivity. It may be a simple and short game but it will leave you wanting to replay each level to see if you can beat your existing times, grab more collectables and find alternative paths to finish each level. Sounds good? Give it a go!
God Eater 2 has been a long time coming for fans of the series. Whilst the generic plot and outdated graphics bring down the game somewhat, overall the game has proven itself to be worth the wait, a highly enjoyable experience with a great co-operative mode and one which will keep you hooked for hours. Coupled with the generous bonus of the original game on top of that, Namco Bandai have provided great value for money in this package and one that comes highly recommended.
Professional Farmer 2017 may cut too close to the bone... though I suspect actual farmers may say their reality is more fun.
Sure it’s not Samus but Metroid Prime Federation Force is actually quite a good game on the 3DS and if you’re looking for a challenge with some fun gaming mechanics, it would do you well to check out this title.
