The Outerhaven Productions's Reviews

Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics does what it's set out to do by giving fans old and new alike the most accessible way to enjoy a paramount series and with online capabilities. No need to get a 1up arcade box to take in the coin-ops at home. Whether one started with X-Men vs Street Fighter, or during the MVC2 Mahvel 2 hype, the 2D part of the series is all here. Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is a definite must own for its' run.

Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland isn’t a bad game, it is very simple while also being complicated due to the lack of tutorials. Rugrats can’t decide if it wants to be for the people that grew up with the show or young gamers just starting their journey. This meant that it is not for me, but it might be for you.

Date A Live: Ren Dystopia is a game that I personally enjoyed but can only recommend to fans of the series. This game doesn’t do anything particularly unique in the Visual Novel space. It will mainly be enjoyable to those who have played the previous games or have watched the series.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II was a blast from start to finish. Only held back by a limited accessibility offering and some technical issues.

World of Warcraft: The War Within gave us a promise of the best story that Chris Metzen has come up with that will draw back all the players who left because of the boredom of Shadowlands and Dragonflight, but ultimately under-delivers on that promise with a short story, a focus on anyone but the player, and changing bad gameplay mechanic names to hide repeated content.

The Ace Attorney Investigations Collection may not hold up like the rest of the Ace Attorney saga, but there's enough for long-time fans and newcomers to enjoy.

Castlevania Dominus Collection is a surprisingly competent collection of the franchise’s Nintendo DS legacy with the added surprise of a worthwhile arcade remake. This game is a tremendous value thanks to three meaty single-player adventures but it certainly has room for improvement.

A beloved classic from the SNES era makes a triumphant return, complete with updated visuals and gameplay tweaks that make it even more enjoyable than it was decades ago. If you’re a fan of arcade games, it’s hard not to love Shadow of the Ninja: Reborn. Unless, of course, you’re not a fan of arcade games or fun!

Gundam Breaker 4 primarily appeals to hardcore Gundam fans, especially those deeply familiar with the Gunpla hobby. Its slow story, repetitive mission structure, and lack of flair probably won’t earn new fans. Maybe watch a bunch of Gundam anime and build a few model kits instead.

Visions is an excellent addition to Square Enix's Mana series and fans of the series will be excited with changes presented with the title. That said, the gameplay plays it safe at times, and can be a bit stale at times. Still, if you like the series, you'll enjoy Visions of Mana.

Star Wars Outlaws stands as a testament to Ubisoft Massive’s ability to blend familiar gameplay elements with fresh, innovative ideas. From the engaging blaster combat and seamless space battles to the dynamic narrative shaped by player choices, the game offers a rich and immersive experience that captures the essence of what makes Star Wars so captivating. While it doesn’t break new ground in most aspects, the way it combines tried-and-true mechanics with unique features like Nix and the Syndicate system makes it a standout action-adventure open world. In my opinion a must play game in the year 2024, especially for Star Wars fans.

Birth By Sleep Final Mix was a game I really wanted to enjoy, but with huge shifts in the gameplay, a nonsensical story at times, and a trio of main characters that I didn't care much for, the game barely held my interest, and it was a relief to be done with it.

Mika And The Witch’s Mountain is Kiki’s Delivery Service as a video game. You get to deliver packages and fly around. It is fun but can be frustrating.

Cygni: All Guns Blazing, developed by KeelWorks and released by Konami, is a visually stunning vertical shmup with twin-stick shooter mechanics. While it offers full freedom of movement and innovative power management between shields and missiles, it has a few drawbacks such as lengthy stages and inconsistent difficulty spikes. Despite some frustrating elements, its cinematic presentation and engaging gameplay mechanics make it a noteworthy addition to Konami’s Shmup catalog. If you’re a fan of shmups looking for something fresh, Cygni: All Guns Blazing is worth checking out.

Star Wars Bounty Hunter Remastered features a notable visual upgrade and refined controls compared to its original release. Fans of Star Wars Legends stories will find the plot, set before some of the prequel films, quite engaging. However, a few technical issues that persisted from the original release remain unaddressed, which can be frustrating at times. Despite this, they don’t detract significantly from the overall experience if you can work around them. Overall, Star Wars Bounty Hunter remains enjoyable to play and revisit, offering some bonus content for fans.

Fate Seeker II is a solid game to add to the collection for those who are fans of the locales of China. It has an engaging story with a lot of different types of games inside its core that make it fun to play. The PS5 release may not be the greatest due to issues of moving a PC game to a console, but it is still a solid game.
