Inner Chains’ excellent art style is its only redeeming feature, as Telepaths Tree’s debut first person shooter suffers from awful gameplay, poor storytelling and widespread performance issues.
Redfall is Arkane Studios’ first major misstep, a game that feels unfinished and without soul, as if it was designed by a committee looking to cash in on all the newest trends with no care for the developer’s past glory.

Rise & Shine is a beautiful 2D action title marred by annoying difficulty spikes and an uninspired story. It's not an outright bad game, as there is enjoyment to be found in its puzzle segments and Gears of War style cover based shootouts, but the overall package isn't very fun to play.
Chronos: Before the Ashes feels dated and awkward, though its intriguing world and unique aging mechanic will probably earn it some fans in the crowded action RPG landscape.
Aquanox Deep Descent suffers from poor mission variety and an underwhelming story, but its combat and ship customization systems are solid and entertaining.
DESYNC is a stylish first person shooter let down by a few questionable choices. Gamers willing to overlook unfair enemy spawn mechanics and frustrating level design may end up loving The Foregone Syndicate‘s debut title, but it’s definitely not for everyone.
Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is an entertaining open world first person shooter marred by poor voice acting and a myriad of technical issues. CI Games’ latest release shows a lot of promise but it needs work before I can give it a glowing recommendation.
Mafia III is a competent open world action game with an excellent story. Sadly, repetitive side missions, technical issues and brain-dead AI drag down the overall package, turning what could have been a masterpiece into a more mundane affair.
Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground is a fun marriage of roguelite elements and turn-based tactical combat, though bugs and other issues prevent me from giving it a glowing recommendation.
With seven environment types, limited enemy variety, samey-looking levels, and no multiplayer modes, HYPERGUN starts to feel repetitive after a few runs.
Solstice Chronicles: MIA is a competent top down shooter that could have used a bit more time in the oven. Gamers who are not discouraged by annoying performance issues, a poorly written tutorial and mostly linear maps will probably get a great deal of enjoyment out of Ironward’s latest release, but it’s certainly not for everyone.
Tokyo 42 looks amazing and it’s often fun to play, but a few key issues drag down the experience quite a bit. While the game’s stealth systems are well done and the faction mechanics and open ended design can generate truly exciting moments, everything comes tumbling down when vehicles are involved, due to clunky camera movement and unresponsive controls.
Clockwork Empires feels like a flawed gem. Gamers looking for an accessible colony simulator will certainly find a lot to love here, but frequent crashes and numerous AI issues spoil the experience.
Ashwalkers is a rather unique take on the survival genre that relies on narrative and choice rather than outright combat. Sadly, its slow paced exploration can quickly wear out its welcome, pushing players away before they complete their journey.
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered is a very faithful remaster of Criterion’s best Need for Speed, though its graphical upgrades aren’t as noticeable on PC as they are on consoles.
The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk’s comedy might not earn it many favors, but its excellent tactical combat can make up for any shortcomings in other areas.
The Sinking City is an excellent adventure game that doesn’t quite reach greatness because it’s saddled with a frankly awful combat system.
Call of Cthulhu never manages to live up to the hype, but at the same time it doesn’t entirely throw away the excitement of its rather unique premise.
Murderous Pursuits is a welcome change of pace from the hordes of shooters that crowd the multiplayer market, but its lack of content and unrewarding progression system bring down the experience quite a bit.
