As a fan of the previous Dead Rising games that released before Dead Rising 4, I hope this is it for the series. Dead Rising 4 and this DLC has done the damage, and it's sad to see a once great series turn to everything Dead Rising isn't along with ripping off the loyal fans of the series with DLC like this. To all other developers and publishers, in future, please don't make your true ending's a paid DLC. This might be the worst DLC I've ever played.
I'm struggling to find many faults with Yooka-Laylee. Okay, it's held back by some minor technical issues but other than those minor issues, this game was an absolute blast to play. If you're looking for a chilled out, over-the-top, and at time hilarious video game that is also fun to play then Yooka-Laylee deserves your attention. This gets an absolute recommendation from me, and a must buy at launch.
As it stands, SkyKeepers is a good action platform game that has laid a solid foundation for (hopefully) future installments.
Play a few battles, shout at the game and then play a load more! Rinse and Repeat.
Fated: The Silent Oath is a great first try for Frima Studios at creating an immersive, story driven game in Virtual Reality. They managed to create a world with characters I cared about and even came up with some interesting gameplay mechanics like the whole nodding your head. It's disappointing that it is over quite too fast but hopefully they can do another chapter or more of this game as I'd definitely like to see my viking family again.
While Leave the Nest doesn't do much to stand out from the endless runner crowd it is fun and it's really the only endless runner game on PlayStation VR right now. It has plenty of things to work towards unlocking and the online leaderboards give you a reason to go back and do another run. It's relatively cheap so if you are looking for a fun new game to take turns and play with your family or friends this is worth looking at.
I really was disappointed in just how every area of Troll and I just seemed to fail to even be half way decent. The whole idea was interesting but the far out of date visuals, bad and frustrating game design, boring story and all the glitches just make this game hard to recommend to anyone especially given the price.
Horizon: Zero Dawn is a testament to the hard work and passion of every individual at Guerrilla Games.
Anyone looking for a fun challenge should not be afraid to show some love to Dr. H8.
Just Dance 2017 is another good but flawed party game to add to the Nintendo Switch line up, if you're looking for a game that will offer hours of stupid fun then this is the perfect game to purchase for the Switch, and also take it on the go and play just using the undocked screen. If you're looking for that kind of party game fun then this will be perfect for you, and is worth the purchase.
LEGO Worlds is another fun entry to the series, sure it's not the Minecraft killer but it's a great attempt at a LEGO style sandbox creator. If you're a fan of the Minecraft and LEGO games then this has to be on your must buy list but be warned their are technical issues that hold this game back from its full potential.
Zelda: Breath Of The Wild is far from the perfect game, but it's still a very good game that is worth your money. If you're a fan of prior Zelda games however you might need to wary of Breath Of The Wild as it's changed and added a lot of features that some may feel move away from what made Zelda the franchise it is. Sometimes change is good, but I felt there was too many unnecessary changes in the game which made the game not feel like a Zelda game.
Is 1-2 Switch a good game? Yes it is, but that doesn't mean it's a good game that's worth the [the price tag].
I give 2Dark a lot of credit for creating a challenging stealth game with a unique look and compelling story. I always looked forward to playing in a new environment and the creative ways to take down the bad guys.
Chime Sharp is a very hard game to recommend to anybody who isn't a hardcore puzzle fan. If you are unfamiliar with the series, then you might find yourself quickly confused and frustrated. Players who "get it" will have a bevy of songs and modes to unlock for quite a long time. Anyone looking for a more laid back and casual experience should sharpen their senses elsewhere.
As an action game and platformer, Eekeemoo leaves a lot to be desired. Thankfully, the experience doesn't overstay its welcome and its laid the groundwork to build upon (hopefully) for future installments.
I really liked a lot of things about Loot Rascals but it’s just a shame that luck plays a factor too often. The art style is colorful and charming, the gameplay is easy to learn but has a lot of depth to it along with player freedom and the procedural generation keeps things fresh. The whole card system is really cool but I just found myself getting frustrated that they weren’t dropping often enough to give me a chance of making it to the next level. The time limit on turns makes it so you can’t even work as long as you might need to powering yourself up to give you a fair shot as well. I really think Hollow Pond did mostly right here but some refinements could be made to make Loot Rascals really special.
After getting lost playing this game for hours and hours several days and nights in a row I can say that Werewolves Within is one of the best social gaming experiences I’ve ever had. Being in VR it really just further enhances the experience and makes you feel like you really are sitting there in that circle with the other players. The way the game works makes it so the community gets along well and everyone has a better time for it. Yes there are some annoying little bugs here and there and yeah over time it will be harder to find people to play with. For now though It’s a game that I’ll be coming back to over and over just to meet up with some great new random people and have a good time while hopefully catching that werewolf.
Vaccine makes an admirable attempt to recapture the original survival horror style game, both looking and playing the part. Unfortunately, the advancements that developers have made in the past 20 years have made games like Vaccine obsolete.
MX Nitro is an interesting game because despite how difficult I found the campaign, I kept retrying, sometimes spending an hour on a single level. The action just kept flowing with near-instant restarts and fun trick combos. Two things will turn a lot of players off, however: lack of true multiplayer and price.
