Dead Cells is such an easy game to recommend.

7 / 10.0 - Trago
Aug 6, 2018

Trago is very effective, if a little short. I found myself playing and replaying it for 70 minutes straight before I even began to consider giving it a break, which shows that it's just as addictive as the excessive drinking it portrays.

Salt and Sanctuary is dark. It's just how it is. And being honest, it's all the better for it. On the Switch's small screen though, the darkness of most of the environments coupled with the zoomed out camera makes it hard to see certain enemies and their attacks.

8 / 10.0 - Jump Gunners
Aug 3, 2018

Jump Gunners probably isn't the best game to pick up simply for its single player features. For those who like to get some friends around and engage in some highly entertaining multiplayer action, however, I'd say it's a must-have.

If Code of Princess EX's combat was just a little bit better, it'd be quite a solid game.

5 / 10.0 - Sleep Tight
Jul 31, 2018

All together, Sleep Tight does what any tower defence/survival game should; it gives you a place to protect and the tools to do so, and does its best to keep you engaged.

4 / 10.0 - Gene Rain
Jul 30, 2018

If you want to play a third-person cover shooter, stick to the Gears of War series on Xbox or the Uncharted series on PS4 for now. All of their entries are cheaper than Gene Rain, and they all offer many times more fun.

Overall, This Is The Police 2's mechanics are a vast improvement on an already solid formula, and this change for the better also stretches into the game's plot.

Remothered generates just as much frustration as it does atmosphere, making it one of those games that you want to love but can't because it just keeps kicking you in the face.

7 / 10.0 - oOo: Ascension
Jul 26, 2018

There are times you will hate oOo, and I came pretty close to deleting the game on more than one occasion. But if arcade thrills are your thing and you can view failure as a learning experience, then oOo Ascension will be right up your street.

8 / 10.0 - Mugsters
Jul 26, 2018

Small games from smaller studious continue to amaze me with their effortless charm and unbound creativity, and Mugsters is easily one of those games.

It may be unspectacular, but there will be many who'll fall under Aces of the Luftwaffe – Squadron's charm.

Overall then, while Archangel: Hellfire's single player mode is undoubtedly entertaining, its multiplayer modes are where the game really comes into its own.

With all that said though, The Council: Episode 3 – Ripples offers another fascinating look into this alternative history 18th century.

Train Sim World isn't a conventionally exciting game, nor does it pretend to be and, to some, will remain a niche interest. It's not perfect and, given the game's multiple train models, there may be times that you'll struggle to remember how to start your vehicle of choice. But this is clearly a labour of love, by people who know their subject and it shows. If you've even the remotest interest in trains, whether as a passenger or would-be-driver you'll get a lot out of Train Sim World; hop on board and you won't be disappointed.

Featuring some other quality of life improvements such as numerous graphic filter options and the ability to remap the controls, Gekido: Kintaro's Revenge may appeal to some. But I can't help but wonder how much more fun the game would be if its enemies weren't quite so numerous and resilient. And also if it had a hell of a lot less travelling back and forth.
