8.5 / 10.0 - The Forgotten City
Aug 4, 2021

The transformation from mod to real game was long, but the final result fully convinced us. The Forgotten City is an intense and engaging journey, enhanced by an exceptional quality of dialogue and a script studied with great care and passion.

7.5 / 10.0 - Hell Let Loose
Aug 3, 2021

Hell Let Loose is not a game for everyone and it is very likely that those who are only looking for a shooter set in the Second World War may not like it. It is in fact a product designed exclusively for a hardcore audience that is not afraid of the long times that elapse between one death and another and that cannot be categorized as a simple first-person shooter.

7.8 / 10.0 - Vesper
Jul 30, 2021

Don't be fooled by the reduced duration of Seven's adventure: after the finale you will be delighted by numerous additions during the second game, and the new awareness gained during the exploration of Aryish could push you to renew your approach, looking for other ways.

Tribes of Midgard is a good compromise between team play, exploration and survival. A sandbox with an intriguing setting, albeit artistically un-inspired, which offers a type of approach to the genre by virtue of accessibility and cooperation.

7.5 / 10.0 - The Ascent
Jul 29, 2021

The Ascent is an ambitious work, which fascinates with incredible atmospheres and visually breathtaking scenery. Unfortunately, the exceptional production effort made on the sets and modeling of the game world does not hide some problems related to the balance of the gameplay and the quality of the script.

7 / 10.0 - Eldest Souls
Jul 29, 2021

As lovers of the narrative aspect of Hidetaka Miyazaki's work more than the high level of challenge regardless, we struggled to fall in love with Eldest Souls. Because, while somehow attempting to mimic the fragmented writing cleared by From Software, this experiment fails to be evocative in the same way. The debut of Fallen Flag Studio speaks more the language of those who are desperately looking for challenges, but risking to leave out all those who in such a title are looking for something more than such a smugly hardcore approach.

8 / 10.0 - Chernobylite
Jul 28, 2021

Chernobylite is a title in some ways surprising: born from a small - but very talented - Independent Polish studio (those The Farm 51 already authors of Get Even) the work mixes in an inseparable whole different videogame genres. A horror / sci-fi narrative, not original but intriguing, role-playing elements, survival mechanics, a deep and layered crafting, a typical action of a first-person shooter and a micro management mechanic that perhaps invalidates a little too much the ambitious bet of the development team.

7.7 / 10.0 - Samurai Warriors 5
Jul 27, 2021

Samurai Warriors 5 is the ideal chapter to approach the franchise for the first time and retrace the exploits of the valiant leaders who lived during the Sengoku era of feudal Japan. The greater attention paid to the story and the choice to focus the plot on the charismatic figures of Oda Nobunaga and his vassal Mitsuhide Akechi have certainly benefited the general quality of the story, which never before has proved to be as compelling and full of twists and turns.

6.5 / 10.0 - Pokemon UNITE
Jul 26, 2021

Pokémon Unite starts from an excellent idea: to appropriate the main characteristics of the most popular genre ever, to shape it and give life to something new or, at least, endowed with a certain autonomous dignity. In addition, of course, there are Pokémon: we wonder why this idea had not been revealed before, but, evidently, it took the intervention of Tencent and TiMi to push on the accelerator. Pokémon Unite is still an intriguing and, at first, addictive proposal. The mechanics work very well and the title is a lot of fun.

We had many concerns about NEO: The World Ends with You. Once we arrived near the test bench, however, the product silenced most of the doubts that have accompanied us for months, involving us with an intriguing story and a combat system based on customization and timing.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is a double spin-off for the capcom and shu takumi series. Plots, intrigues, murders, fights at the last counter-interrogation and lots, a lot of fun, thanks to extraordinary characters, written to never be static, constantly evolving, ready to always reveal a new facet of personality.

Flight Simulator lands on Xbox Series X with an edition that returns to confirm the great talent of the developers of Asobo Studio, authors of a technically surprising conversion. On Microsoft's flagship, the title keeps substantially intact the qualities of a monumental graphic sector, which exploits the power of the cloud to compose extraordinarily suggestive photorealistic scenarios, among the meshes of what is a unique sensory experience of its kind.

7 / 10.0 - Last Stop
Jul 21, 2021

Ultimately, Last Stop presents itself as a pleasant experience, able to offer interesting things to consider on the reasons that can push a human being to give a turn to his existence. Despite an extremely pleasant rhythm and many twists and turns, the narrative of Variable State, however, fails to really leave its mark on the heart of the player who, thanks to the manifestation of real alternative tracks only at the end of the game, ends up not feeling too much empathy with John's actions, Meena and Donna.

The idea behind AKIBA'S TRIP is delicious and fun, but if in 2011 the product could work despite all its shortcomings and the limitations imposed by the PSP hardware, the same cannot be said for its reissue. The one made by Acquire is in fact a remastered only in name, it is no coincidence that the product has preserved all its historical technical problems, such as the mismanagement of the camera, the inaccurate pointing system, the very slow response times of the commands, the cumbersome animations, and so on.

9 / 10.0 - Death's Door
Jul 20, 2021

A few years ago Acid Nerve had already shown personality and vision with the brilliant Titan Souls, yet the step forward made with Death's Door is frankly stunning. It is very rare to see such an impressive leap between a debut work and the second game, and the fact that little more than a couple of people have been able to give life to such a memorable adventure is the most crystal clear testimony of the natural talent of the English team.

If in general the hybrid nature of Nintendo Switch tends to balance the technical limitations of the hardware with portability, in this case there is no valid reason why you should prefer this second version of Ys IX: Monstrum Nox to the one launched only a few months ago on PS4 and PS4 Pro, which for some time has even supported 4K resolution.

The first narrative expansion of Watch Dogs Legion: Bloodline is a strange creature: a kind of hybrid between the classic course of the series and the more libertarian approach followed with the latest iteration of the brand.

7.3 / 10.0 - Boomerang X
Jul 13, 2021

Although with a different and less fiercely hardcore disposition, Boomerang X reminded me with ill-concealed enthusiasm of that independent gem that responds to the name of Devil Daggers.
