God of War has changed. This new Nordic chapter transforms the series into an impressive action/adventure, rediscovering the value of exploration. Yet the soul of God of War is still there: and emerges, in all its imperious power, during the brutal fights and the violent clashes. As the main story progresses and the optional contents unfolds, God of War affirm itself as one of the most dense, surprising and rich adventure of the last three generations.

Subsurface Circular is a fascinating and unique project, one that will probably leave you something despite the short length. An incredibly well-written narrative adventure, built with passion, heart and elegance: if it.

Sea of Thieves is a game you won't forget. Wonderful to see, amazing to listen to, unique in a group and decidedly particular on their own, Rare's pirate adventure is a thunderous experiment built by combining all the typical defects of the genre to transform them into a single extraordinary virtue. It is not a game for everyone, certainly not for those who want to feel invincible and the only vain protagonist, but it is a work that has all the credentials to become something precious.

The latest Level-5 work is an extremely solid example of an action-rpg game, but ultimately fails to live up to the expectations set by its excellent first chapter. It does, however, built the foundations for its future, which, given Nin No Kuni's current quality, is likely to be extremely successful.

Into The Breach is a brilliant title, a fun, long-lived and easy-to-depend turn-based strategy. After completing the main campaign several times - at different difficulty levels and with the most disparate teams - we still feel the need to return to collect insectoids, to unlock all the achievements and discover the secrets of a game that certainly has a lot to show even after the end credits.

Florence is a love story, a story that merges video game and comic, capable of giving shape to a delicate and poetic narrative, but with an overwhelming emotional impact, which really leaves you speechless: at the end of this short story, you will therefore find yourself with a lump in your throat that would just like to melt into tears. The perfect synergy between impeccable visual construction and gameplay designed at the service of the plot gives life to a set that emphasizes the potential of the video game medium, exploring the potential of digital fiction.

When the Witch of Umbra decides to dance under the pale light of the full moon, we will extend her hand to dance with her. And now, with the hybrid version of Kyoto, we can stand by it at any time, always ready to brandish our weapons and torture the divine army. On Switch, bayonetta's two chapters find their ideal refuge, adapting appropriately to the pace of portability and maintaining considerable fluidity during the action.

Celeste is not only a brilliant platformer, one that will surely entertain you with its unusual difficulty and its astonishing level design. Celeste is a touching story about depression, a metaphor of life and ultimately a video game that will teach you a valuable lesson: never give in, no matter if you're dealing with a Gargantuan montain, a series of seemingly impossible jumps or anxiety. It might not be the next indie apocalypse, but it's still a product that's well worth of your time and money.

Like all fragile and rare creatures, Shadow of the Colossus is also an endangered species. The only thing we have to do, as players, is work to save it from extinction.

The 65 hours spent visiting every ravine of Monster Hunter World left us happy and hungry. Happy because Capcom's game is in all respects the highest point of an already exceptional series, which with this new "zero point" manages to effectively rework its formula, perfectly combining tradition and innovation. Hungry because, in all honesty, the game has left us with an irresistible desire to continue venturing into the coils of an enveloping and inspired world, strong of a maniacal care for every detail.

There's nothing really new about Lost Sphear and that's fine. If you are a lover of the genre and want to relive the emotions that have led you to fall in love with the jrpg as kids, the work deserves to enter your collection.

Shooty Fruity is a funny arcade shooter with a distinctive personality, one that will hook you with its immediate gameplay, its frantic shooting action and its quirky multi-tasking. You might encounter some technical limitations (due to the Move Controllers rather than the software itself), some questionable game design choices and a certain lack of contents, but it's hard not to smile when you have to use one hand to keep a group of wild rasperries at bay with a machine gun, while scanning products at a cash desk with the other.

In a way, The Next Penelope is a truly impressive task, one that could be well worth of the labors of Hercules: it's the dream of a single and very talented designer turned into a peculiar mix of driving, adventure and shooter (with a kick-ass art direction). However, in another way this one-man project could also be considered as a missed opportunity: the single ingredients were probably better than the sum of their parts, and the final recipe feels a bit too short and half-baked.

Crawl and Nintendo Switch can be considered a match made in Heaven (or in Hell, considering the setting): absolutely enjoyable when played in two and potentially a blast with three or four players, this weird and highly original mix of genres is a perfect fit for those in search of a thrilling competition. Be warned: with the right group of people, Crawl could quickly turn into a little cult.

Although the new remastered does not wedge for audacity, Okami remains a masterpiece of stainless beauty that few approach but from which no one can ever get away from again. A milestone in the history of gaming, a compelling adventure, visually stunning and full of unique, one-of-a-kind elements. If you are not discouraged by the amount of dialogue, Okami will give you a colorful story made up of epic clashes, prophecies and legends. Be bewitched by its eastern world wrapped in cherry blossoms and help Amaterasu bring the Sun back. You won't regret it. Highly recommended edition for all fans, and absolutely mandatory for anyone who has never played it until now.

Genre fans will of course be happy of this revival, but the writing isn't as good as we hoped.

Need For Speed: Payback is a solid, lengthy and entertaining racing game, but it's unable to reinvent its genre. The work by Ghost Games is weighted down by its stiff singleplayer structure, which clashes with a progression system that, whilst clever in theory, fails to be as balanced as it should be in practice.

As a simple collectathon built around the concept of flying around in a magnificent cloudy world, Oure does more than its job and ends up being a pleasant zen experience. However, whenever it tries to be something more – wheter it is by trying to push on the gameplay side or by evoking pure emotions – this very derivative game simply falls short, showing all the limits of a not so stellar production.

WWII is exactly what the Call of Duty series needed: Sledgehammer Games probably maked the best game in the series since Black Ops 2. It's a solid and spectacular shooter, but It's also a game characterized by a naif narration and a bad AI. Despite all, WWII is a very satisfyng episode, and a new beginning for the saga.
