GameGrin's Reviews
A competent sequel that adds some neat touches, but doesn't fix enough of the first game's problems.
A solid and fun little farming type sim, but one that has a few issues. Although it's a bit rough around the edges, it's still worth a look.
An interesting premise ultimately let down by poor execution and a lack of depth seen in most every other game in the genre.
It does its job well as a Gundam-style mech shooter, but it just doesn't do quite enough to keep me going back in for more action. The majority of levels are just “go here, shoot this, follow that”, which unfortunately gets very repetitive after a couple of hours. There's a lot you can do with customisation, though.
Papers, Please in Brexit Britain, but at a higher price and not as fun. Feels like an opportunity wasted
SNK's female-only fighter lacks the complexity of its older brethren but can be a glitzy over-the-top fun time if you let it. Fanservice hides a fun, simple to grasp fighting system that is deeper than you think.
A polished, well put together remaster of a game that never really got a fair shake during its original release. If you like mecha punching each other or the idea of piloting one in VR is your thing you can do a lot worse than giving Zone of the Enders The 2nd Runner: Mars a go.
This is a charming little interactive story that warms the heart even if it doesn't necessarily challenge the brain. If you like your games to be story driven with characters you'll end up caring about, this is a must-have.
I wasn't expecting a huge amount from Strange Brigade, but what I got was a really enjoyable experience both offline and online. This was a pleasant surprise, as generally I'm not someone who would usually play online if I can avoid it. The fact that even I preferred playing online speaks volumes about Rebellion's efforts in making a game that's best played in co-op. There are a few things that could have been done better, but nothing that can't be overlooked. This is one of my favourite multiplayer games in a very long time.
Destiny 2 Forsaken is a step in the right direction for the title but under delivers in the story department. If you like Destiny 2, then this expansion is for you.
There is a lot to enjoy, but also an equal amount to dislike which is a shame for such a beautiful title.
It's absolutely crazy, off the wall, batshit insane. It is basically just Happy Wheels but in 3D, bundled with all the gore, characters and “charm”. If you can even call it charm. Sadistic charm is probably better.
Its clever premise, powerful narrative (flawed though it may seem at times), and enjoyable mechanics - Inked's flaws come across as mostly minor nitpicks.
Slime-san: Superslime Edition is a fantastic title that should be in your gaming library. If you want to have a challenge and a laugh at the same time, then this is for you.
feel like there's a lot of potential to be found in GARAGE: Bad Trip, but the poor controls and lacklustre sound design spoil an aesthetically interesting game.
The city of Kamurocho is packed with interesting characters, fun activities and a number of excellent diversions, all backed up by a solid narrative that throws up as many surprises as it does heartwarming moments.
All in all not a bad game, especially for a first outing. A little rough around the edges, but still a game that's worth a try.
Galactic Delivery serves a purpose, similar to a Futurama double-bill that you've seen a dozen times before: you're not going to discover anything new from sitting back to enjoy it, but it's not an entire waste of your leisure time. A perfect procrastination game.
For every step forward Fumiko! makes, it takes two steps back - and makes the floor transparent.
Shenmue I & II brings the Dreamcast classics to a new audience as well as those nostalgic for the old days. They are still fun, exciting games even with a few quirks due to their age and are well worth playing in 2018.
