GameGrin's Reviews
A mystery game with some obtuse puzzles set in a beautiful world, worth looking at but be prepared to look up a guide for help with some of the puzzles.
A great game that took five years to make. Subnautica is an open sandbox sci-fi fantasy that can inch it's way into horror as you explore the depths of the ocean world. Just be ready to farm!
Far Cry 5 established itself as one of the best in the series, The game features some gorgeous scenery, an engaging story and the overall story is great fun and the theme is very realistic. The game mixes up the missions so it doesn't get repetitive halfway through the game. Far Cry 5 is a great entry to the series for newbies and veterans alike.
Spellforce 3 is an ambitious game that manages to blend fun RTS segments with traditional isometric dungeon exploration in a neat RPG package.
Great part two in The Fall series, and leaves the door open just enough ready for part three. If Over the Moon continue with the improvements they've made to the next installment, then the trilogy should go down as a true classic of its time.
Once the novelty of being allowed to give someone testicular cancer wears off, it's a rather uninspired affair. Clicking for hours at a time will likely result in carpal tunnel syndrome, which is the price you pay for being such a dreadful sadist. Shame on you.
Tesla vs Lovecraft is a B-Movie style twin-stick shooter that hits all the right notes. Although a bit on the lengthy side, this title is worth every minute.
If you're looking for something different as a fan of tabletop games and have the patience to bear with the controls, you'll likely enjoy WARTILE.
Clusterpuck 99 is yet another must-have indie release on the Switch. The Nintendo eShop is rapidly building up a catalogue of affordable, quality games, with this being no exception. The combination of easy to use controls, quirky graphics, a multitude of levels, along with a course creator make Clusterpuck 99 an excellent option for fans of high-octane action.
Pure Farming 2018 is, for the most part, a game about doing tasks while watching the days go by. If you find enjoyment in that, then this title is made for you.
A very drab and uninteresting open world adventure game. Lacking in all key areas, and devoid of any fun whatsoever. Although, the creator must be commended on his efforts in making this game entirely be himself, sometimes it's best to leave it to the professionals.
A relatively slow start soon becomes a frantic effort to combat sub-zero temperatures, starvation and insanity. If your constitution can withstand murder, cannibalism, paranoid delusions and a choking miasma of nihilistic despair, Symmetry will effortlessly contribute to your existing psychopathy. Recommended!
An unmissable strategy gem that will unquestionably keep you playing one more contract. If you like mechs or tactical strategy games you'll have a great time here whether you are a newcomer to the universe or not. BattleTech gets my full recommendation.
The Witch and The Hundred Knight 2 is a worthwhile follow up to the first game and, even with some repetitive gameplay, is a solid title worth checking out.
Pizza Titan Ultra is perfectly balanced, looks great, runs well and is hilarious. I'd love it even it it wasn't a giant robot with a built-in pizza shop that I could make look vaguely look like a Transformer.
I can't stress enough how much I enjoyed Ni no Kuni II. It's one of the best JRPGs in years and it's a must-buy for fans of the genre. It's cute, thoroughly addictive and has more tweaks and statistics than you can shake a sword at. If you enjoyed the first game, you will love this.
Bombslinger is an updated take on a classic genre. The game's strengths come from the way it combines the arcade feel of its action with the brutal approach of the rogue-like genre. It's a simple game, but one that offers inventiveness and swathes of charm that should keep players sticking around for a long time after the credits roll.
While not an awful game, this is definitely not something I'm going to be overtly suggesting to my friends. IThe game is made up of a simple kind of fun and not any sort of deep and meaningful systems or mechanics. Topped off with a generic and negligible story, Extinction only manages to keep its head above water due to how fun chopping up ogres can be.
FatShark has done a fantastic job of taking their first game and improving on every single aspect. The recurring theme of offering players a variety of tools, characters and enemies to face leads to a crescendo of unique moments that are all entirely player driven. While the difficulty spikes can be frustrating, part of the fun in Vermintide 2 is being against the odds and prevailing.
With an increase in scope and improvements in every area, Q.U.B.E. 2 shows that Toxic Games have learnt from their experience and are doing a great job. This is an excellent title that is even better than the great game that it follows on from.
