8 / 10.0 - Absolver
Aug 30, 2017

Absolver feels like a game of martial arts chess, where both your fighting skills and your mind at the same time.

For any person that enjoys deep, detailed, and deranged solo gaming experiences you will find no better than The New Colossus.

7.5 / 10.0 - Prey
May 9, 2017

Prey is not a perfect game, but the excellent world building, characters, and stories kept me invested enough to see the credits role.

All in all, Symphony of the Machine is a solid VR title with fun puzzles set in an interesting world… I just don’t see it satisfying non-puzzle fans, nor do I think it’s the best VR puzzle game currently available.

7.5 / 10.0 - Tokyo Xanadu
Jul 1, 2017

Tokyo Xanadu is an enjoyable Vita title with fun combat, mostly enjoyable characters, and an overall solid gameplay. It does lack in storytelling elements and falls on generic tropes, but it is worth picking up if you love anime based games, JRPGs, social systems in games, or Falcom games.

Skylar & Plux succeeds in what it had set out to achieve: an homage to the classic N64 platformers like Mario, Ratchet and Clank, and Banjo-Kazooie. There are as many flaws in this game as those classics.

6.9 / 10.0 - Excubitor
May 26, 2016

Excubitor has a lot of enjoyable moments, though the tower defense elements lack and the controls take a little time to get used to.

6.9 / 10.0 - Lego Worlds
Mar 16, 2017

Its colorful landscapes built entirely of LEGOs and massive library of LEGO items you can use to create your own worlds are too bountiful to ignore. However, when you’re seeing a miserable 14 FPS and you’re unable to play smoothly, it’s a jarring experience that makes you never want to play with LEGOs again.

"COMBAT IS SOMEWHAT REMINISCENT OF ZELDA GAMES, AND WOULD BE ENJOYABLE WERE IT NOT PLAGUED WITH SEVERE FRAMERATE DROPS..."

It’s like a Diet Smash Bros, with the character unlock model leaving a bad taste in your mouth.

6.7 / 10.0 - Far Cry: New Dawn
Feb 14, 2019

"When it comes down to it, Far Cry New Dawn is a familiar yet fun experience that introduces some much-needed tweaks to Ubisoft’s stale formula. The problem, however, is that it’s too familiar and not doing enough to really warrant a playthrough..."

6.5 / 10.0 - Yooka Laylee
Apr 4, 2017

Despite its commendable protagonist and world design (mostly), the reliance on nostalgia hinders its ability to present fresh ideas, and when that issue is paired with the performance issues, you’re better off just dusting off an old N64 somewhere or waiting for it to be deeply discounted.

It's a good remaster in that it makes Destroy All Humans! look significantly better than the original from the PS2 era. However, the gameplay doesn't hold up to 2020 standards.

6 / 10.0 - Rainswept
Mar 6, 2019

"Its clunky controls, odd character design, and clumsy animations are too measurable to be ignored. If you’re looking for a challenging, Sherlock-esque game, this is probably not for you, but if you’re looking for an emotional narrative about love and loss, it’s worth the small time investment (5 or so hours)"

At its core, Micro Machines World Series had the potential to be much more than it actually is. More modes, more options, and more cars could've made this into a much more formidable game.

5.8 / 10.0 - Dynasty Feud
May 29, 2017

"Speaking in the most general sense possible, Dynasty Feud is a mixed bag. It certainly has some charm and the concept and maps are good, but it still feels like it’s a game stuck in the conceptual phase, lacking the fully fleshed out ideas that would make it a must-play game."

"There’s not enough farming for it to be a farming simulator, not enough danger to be an adventure game, and not enough story risks for a children’s game."
