80 / 100 - Just Dance 2018
Oct 29, 2017

With its interface and features redesigned, Just Dance 2018 brings a breath of fresh air to Ubisoft's dancing game, more modern, lean and accessible. The Kids Mode, a section specially designed to children, is a very welcome addition to the game. Even though this edition does not bring any incredible new feature, the small modifications, along with a set list very up to date and a generous three-month subscription to Just Dance Unlimited, justify the purchase.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole improves and does pretty much everything the former did well: it's funny as the animation, it has consistent and accessible mechanics that makes it a great experience for both franchise fans and those who just want a good strategy turn based game, showing that the Ubisoft San Francisco team is solid and managed to deliver a title that is not only a great South Park adaptation, but also an awesome game by itself. It's one of those 'more of the same' that we can not complain about.

PlayStation VR is a flexible technology, open to innovations and different approaches on game development. The Invisible Hours is a title that takes advantage of the VR device to present an unusual game: an immersive theater in which the player acts as a ghostly presence, free to explore and observe a series of interwoven plots, all centered on the murder of Nikola Tesla. Combining historical and fictional characters in a murder mystery play, the story is very well written, resembling Agatha Christie's novels, and keeps the player engaged. With many events happening simultaneously, the player is encouraged to go back or advance on the story, in order to discover new facts by following the footsteps of different characters, which delivers several surprises and an unexpected end.

Gran Turismo Sport is visually beautiful, but fails in delivering a limited number of cars and circuits when compared to other recent titles. Despite the fact that the carrer mode is missing, it is in the online mode that the game gets its great victory and reaches the first place. So, hit the gas and try to beat the other competitors in this good racing game of 2017.

Even though it does not provide an innovative experience, The Mummy Demastered demonstrates the right way to redeem a classic formula. It's a fun and formidable adventure/action game, albeit a bit shorter than I'd like.

The Evil Within 2 corrects many mistakes from the first game. It is an excellent survival horror title. However, there are some problems, like the story (it isn't as good as the first game), less memorable bosses than the original and some combat mechanics.

Mary Skelter Nightmares is one of the best Compile Heart games and one of the best DRPGs on the Vita. With its exploration and battle mechanics, Mary Skelter has a game loop that is addictive and always has something new to keep the players engaged. The game even goes beyond that by bringing a story, characters and a world that are well developed and make players wonder what will happen next. Escaping the Jail was the journey's objective, however, my time exploring within its walls was a lot of fun.

80 / 100 - Jydge
Oct 19, 2017

JYDGE is a great game in the Top Down Shooter style, despite its short campaign with only 20 missions, the form of progress with a lot of replays can make the gameplay time a little bigger. Nevertheless, undoubtedly the infinity amount of perks, guns, specials and bonus guns are the highlight of the game, combining a lot of perks, guns modifiers and specials creates a unique JYDGE to each mission. If you liked Neon Chrome or Crimsonland, JYDGE is a game for you.

The fourth episode is the lowest moment of Peter Quill's group. Slightly slow in the beginning, the chapter has some important consequences for the pack, in addition to extremely relevant sacrifices, with a rise on the action at the end.

Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online brings the MMORPG experience into both its gameplay and story, and the series characteristic humor should please veteran players of the series or the genre. The battle system is enough to be fun, however, it needs a lot more polishing to become something special. 4GO is recommended for those who like the Neptunia series or those that are looking for a simple action game to play with friends.

RAID: World War II disappoints in every aspect that could make it fun to play or at least a different theming of Payday. The lack of polishing on the technical side prevents the game from becoming playable and never allows the player to take advantage of the available content, even with their friends, which makes it a frustrating experience.

80 / 100 - Bad Apple Wars
Oct 13, 2017

Bad Apple Wars tells a beautiful and touching story, full of philosophical discussions, without avoiding sad and dramatic moments. It's a mandatory acquisition for otome visual novels fans. There are some small problems, but the game lives up to the quality one expects from Otomate's games.

With a major graphics evolution, a vast world to be explored, a better developed story and new gameplay mechanics, Middle-earth: Shadow of War shows how an adventure game should be. There will be hours and hours of exploration in Middle-earth which will make the player want to play it more and more. Put it simply, it's one of the best games of 2017.

88 / 100 - FIFA 18
Oct 10, 2017

FIFA 18 still reigns as the best soccer game of this generation (depending on who you ask). Although The Journey mode does not bring the same impact from the previous installment, FIFA 18 is a great sequence and delivers the best addition of the last few years: the possibility of experiencing Alex Hunter's life out of the soccer field, showing more of his human side facing the difficulties that a player's career might present. FIFA 18 repeats its formula, with subtle improvements on gameplay, and brings what was already good (and bad) in FIFA 17, and fells much more like an update than a full game.

Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony literally stood by its name and kills any harmony that may exist at the beginning of the game. With a sorta new chapter for the series, prepare yourself to question everything and everyone up until the credits end, in what promises to be the biggest killing game of the franchise.

78 / 100 - Hob
Oct 10, 2017

Hob presents a remarkable visual style, a beautiful world that shapes as the player advances through it and concise gameplay. Even though the developer has chosen to follow a more secure path, some points could be better developed, specially a better polishing in the technical part.

Battle Chasers: Nightwar is an incredible game that, even with technical problems and being developed by a small team, it's still worth being played by both fans of the original series and players wishing for more turn-based RPGs. The creative and finely-tuned combat, the fun dungeons and the beautiful art make the game a very nice surprise.

85 / 100 - Blue Reflection
Oct 9, 2017

Blue Reflection surprised me much more than I initially expected. Accompaning Hinako in her journey back to ballet got me interested in her story and in all the characters that support her. The battle system became more interesting with new mechanics that were added, even if the challenge never made those additions necessary. Blue Reflection is a great RPG, but one that requires a lot of patience from the player, so that it can slowly show everything that makes this game so special.
