PSX Brasil's Reviews

Offering more quantity than quality, Crysis Remastered Trilogy is a beautiful visual and technical work for games that have always been known for that. Despite this, much of the franchise already shows aging that can create a tiresome experience nowadays.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes is a game with a good narrative, but that's the only thing that keeps the title interesting. The gameplay, as well as other mechanics, could have been improved, as they are points that make all the difference in an annual series.

Horizon Chase Turbo: Senna Always is a great celebration of one of the greatest legendary drivers of all time. It has complementary content that expands (a lot) and improves what already existed before in one of the best brazilian games in history. It's a real treat for recent or longtime motorsport fans and, of course, Ayrton Senna.

70 / 100 - Back 4 Blood
Oct 25, 2021

Back 4 Blood has many frustrating moments with its numerous hordes and unbalanced difficulty spikes. Besides, it's quite repetitive and has a weak story. Its card system only starts to get more interesting after practically finishing the campaign at least once. In the end, Back 4 Blood is only suitable for those looking for a cooperative experience and who would overlook the points mentioned.

Guardians of the Galaxy is the closest we've had so far to translating the uncompromised fun feel of a Marvel movie into video games. It's an incredibly fun title, with great storytelling and solid gameplay that, if it doesn't revolutionize, makes every hour invested in it worth it.

80 / 100 - Sheepo
Oct 24, 2021

Sheepo not only meets the minimum requirements expected for a metroidvania, but it is also creative in terms of plot, gameplay solutions and aesthetic elaboration. The level design lacks some pacing tricks and the controls require fine tuning, but none of that detracts from the fact that this is a charming, balanced and a very fun game.

50 / 100 - The Good Life
Oct 23, 2021

If you already know and appreciate the work of director Hidetaka "Swery" Suehiro, there's a big chance you'll enjoy The Good Life. If you don't, there are plenty of other titles in the market that are more capable of entertaining you.

Disciples: Liberation does a lot of things well, but nothing too special. It's a fun game that can keep you entertained for dozens of hours with its challenging combat, long narrative and city-building elements, but the quality of all its elements ends up being somewhat limited.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles is far from being one of the most inventive games of the genre and brings several problems, such as the absence of game modes and content, laughable exploration and a gameplay model that doesn't appeal to everyone. Still, it's fluid, beautiful, responsive and a true aesthetic and narrative delight for fans of the franchise.

Phoenix Point is a good game, but marked by a series of issues that truly limit its quality. The technical issues make it so even the most hardcore fan has a hard time enjoying the many good ideas it has.

85 / 100 - Tails of Iron
Oct 19, 2021

Tails of Iron's biggest highlight is its fun and challenging combat. The title is a pleasant surprise and one of the best indies games of the year.

75 / 100 - World War Z
Oct 18, 2021

World War Z: Aftermath has beautiful graphics and runs smoothly, but even with the new modes and maps it's not fun enough to play offline or in random matches with strangers. Wait for a sale to play with friends is the best alternative for those who like this kind of game.

Xuan Yuan Sword 7 is a welcome surprise. If its combat ends up leaving something to be desired and prevents it from reaching a level above, its story easily places it in one of those experiences that entertain the player, even with its issues.

70 / 100 - Astria Ascending
Oct 15, 2021

Astria Ascending is heavily inspired by classic JRPGs. Its combat is its strongest suit, but its narrative fails to hold of the player as it should, which keeps it from recreating the elements that made its inspirations so special.

With a remaster that leaves something to be desired with the lack of 4K resolution, minor bugs and a stable performance, Alan Wake manages to lock you in with an excellent narrative and an engaging story, making a repetitive gameplay go unnoticed most of the time. Still, if we compare it to the original release, for sure this is the best version to get to play at the moment.

Mary Skelter Finale closes the curtain for Idea Factory's DRPG franchise in a satisfying way. It does so before the audience could get tired, but while it still could explore its story and refine a few exploration and combat mechanics.

80 / 100 - UnMetal
Oct 12, 2021

UnMetal was a pleasant surprise with great gameplay and a very comical story. Its narrative brings changes to every scenario in the game, some that were interesting and others that were simply silly. It's a game that I recommend, especially for Metal Gear fans or for those who also like games with a good dose of humor.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is clearly a clone of Smash Bros. which ends up pleasing for its solid gameplay and flawless online. However, the single-player content is basically non-existent and the multiplayer is very competitively oriented – those looking for something "chaotic" may be disappointed.

Diablo II: Resurrected brings back, 21 years later, all the best qualities of one of the greatest classics of all time, the one that set the standards for the genre. While updating artistic issues to today's standards, it retains the essence of both gameplay and design, and even after all this time, it is still amazing.

At a time when Ubisoft needs to breathe new life into some of its franchises, Far Cry 6 arrives offering just that with its deep story, fun gameplay and plenty of exploration. This is definitely one of the games you need to have in your collection.
