Steamworld Dig 2 is a top-notch game that so succeeds at what it set out to do, that calling it merely "retro-inspired" almost feels like an insult. It's a fantastic 2D title, and belongs in anyone's collection.
ArenaNet really listened to the players on this one. They took great care to craft something to be proud of, and I believe that shows ten-fold. They're listening and watching and really striving to create an expansion unrivaled. It's more than worth the play--hours of content, amazing rewards and fantastic surroundings. This is the expansion that Guild Wars 2 deserves.
Death of the Outsider is a great game, having new powers and new features with Bille Lurk as the central character helps shave off any kind of series fatigue. We're excited to see where it all goes next!
Hampered by some poor decisions in porting, Trulon: The Shadow Engine takes a game with some promise and becomes less than the sum of its parts.
With a killer soundtrack and a well-refined combat system, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is an adventure definitely worth diving into.
Sometimes pulled in two directions by its attempt to balance serious tension with comedy relief, Maize ends up relying heavily on the idea that you'll buy into both sides of the equation. For some, this will be a blessing, but for others it will be a curse that weakens the rest of the package.
Destiny 2 is definitely a better game than the previous title. If you're not a Destiny fan you could try this one, if you're a Destiny fan then this should be a no-brainer. Everything feels familiar and improved, the perfect kind of sequel.
A divisive game by its very nature, Utawarerumomo: Mask of Truth nonetheless sits as the capstone to a storied and well-loved story. The only true question is if you feel the visual novel format is for you.
A divisive game due to matters of strict taste, Rock of Ages 2 nonetheless delivers exactly what it promises, and does so without shame or regret.
There just is not enough on offer here for me to invest anymore time on this game than I already have, in fact as I type this the game is highlighted and I'm ready to hit the delete option.
Built very heavily upon the mechanics of its predecessor, Nidhogg 2 mostly aims to presenting a new flare and new options...but those options make the experience harder to get into, producing a game mostly for people who already played and loved the first entry.
A prime example of how retro console gaming can still be fun AND relevant. Cracking good fun...
Careful research, great character writing, and a stunning feeling of being true-to-life carried the original game far, and Yakuza Kiwami marries those qualities to more refined gameplay and slick HD graphics.
An experience boiled down to its raw essentials, and then refined to the best those essentials have to offer, Phantom Trigger sits as an interesting and worthwhile experience.
Agents of Mayhem is a fun game, it might get a little repetitive now and then, but with solid controls and a great combat system it's a delight to play. If you're missing Saint's Row and Crackdown, this could be the game for you.
Graceful Explosion Machine knows what it wants to be, and delivers on that experience with flying, bright, bountiful colors. A top-notch title in the genre and worth every penny.
Fast, furious and challenging. Also not very long in length, but the game play time may well be extended as you get yourself into the sideways scrolling demon's souls type punishment coming your way should you make a mistake!
Rime is beautiful, it's simple in a lot of ways and has some nice ideas. It's worth grabbing and especially if you enjoyed games like Ico, Journey and so on.
An excellent collection of some classics, but some odd choices and the sheer amount of times the cream of the crop has been collected make it a hard choice.
What you have here is a fast and fluid and for the most part fun two vs two arcade style basketball game for up to 4 players. Like Rocket League games are fast, with a 10 minute time period though you can tweak settings via the option menu if you so desire.
