7.5 / 10.0 - Build a Bridge!
Jan 29, 2019

Overall, Build a Bridge! isn't a unique game, but it's not trying to be. It is a polished, well-made bridge building game with lots to do.

6 / 10.0 - Hive Jump
Jan 25, 2019

In the end, the overall difficulty of the game makes Hive Jump a hard game to recommend. Players looking for a one player run-and-gun game should look to other titles. If you like difficult multiplayer games, this might be the game you are looking for.

6 / 10.0 - Mech Rage
Jan 25, 2019

Mech Rage isn't a bad game, but it also isn't a great game. It fails to bring anything we haven't seen before to the genre. Despite not having too much variance from other top-down action shooters, Mech Rage wasn't entirely terrible but there wasn't anything that made me want to scream “Yes, come play this!”. The $9.99 price tag isn't too bad however you may want to wait for a sale to pick this one up.

6.5 / 10.0 - Rain World
Jan 24, 2019

Rain World is a fun game with a lot of fun survival mechanics and beautiful art style. This title is held back by its own level design that felt confusing at time.

The visuals, music and game design of Kingdom Two Crowns should be commended, and it is refreshing to be light on tutorial and direction. It does, however, walk the treacherous line between boring and addictive. It is a slow-paced strategy game with plenty on offer, but it all comes down to how you interact with the environment how much you feel incentivised to engage with it. Patience and a relaxed state of mind are almost essential to play the game.

7 / 10.0 - Oxyjet
Jan 23, 2019

In the end, I really enjoyed my time spent playing local 1 vs 1, and plan on coming back for more. The biggest problem I have with Oxyjet is its exorbitant price. There isn't enough there for the money, especially with online the way it is. If it was a more reasonable price, I would wholeheartedly recommend it, flaws and all, because it is really fun. If it goes on sale cheap, and you have someone to play with, go for it.

7 / 10.0 - Mana Spark
Jan 21, 2019

Mana Spark's premise pays off and will turn into a time sink for anyone even remotely into the dungeon-crawling genre. Despite the addictive nature of this simply presented game, the loading screens will make you shout expletives out loud: especially when progressing, or worse, dying.

For all its simplicity, Project Highrise: Architect's Edition is one of those addictive building games that can grab hold of you with its incredible detail and not let you go

Rock Boshers is retro done right. It balances familiarity and freshness, with excellent visuals and soundtrack. The high difficulty may put off some players, but if you're a glutton for punishment, there's plenty to keep you going for hours.

7.5 / 10.0 - Fitness Boxing
Jan 15, 2019

Fake boxing in front of my TV is not an alternative to the gym. I get that. But I'm not going to a gym—like, ever again. So, as an alternative to whatever show I'd be watching or game I'd be playing, Fitness Boxing succeeds at its $50 asking price (although I'd rank it a bit higher at $40). If you're likely to feel the same, I recommend getting the digital download so it's always present and ready when you fire up your Switch to play something else (and there is a demo you can try). A half hour of cardio before two hours of Octopath Traveller is a really good idea.

If you played New Super Mario Bros. U the first time around, it's hard recommending its Deluxe iteration unless you simply can't be bothered to plug in your Wii U again. However, if you were waiting all these years for an easy mode, playing through the game as Toadette will surely satisfy.

8 / 10.0 - Double Cross
Jan 11, 2019

Double Cross is a fun ride – it's a tough platformer with interesting characters that blends the futuristic feel of Mega Man with some of the classic elements of a great Mario game. Solving the mystery behind an attack on your base gives the game its own edge that makes it fun and engaging. Check it out!

Demetrios – The Big Cynical Adventure isn't the best game I have played but it certainly is fun and has its moments that will make you laugh. It also offers a fair amount of actual gameplay before the credits roll. With the addition of trying to reach all of the achievements, there is plenty of gameplay to go around.

8 / 10.0 - Omega Strike
Jan 8, 2019

Omega Strike isn't breaking any new ground, but who cares? Unlike some metroidvanias, it's engrossing, engaging, and never lets up. For those hungry for the adventures of Samus and Simon Belmont, Omega Strike will surely satisfy.

7 / 10.0 - Energy Cycle
Jan 1, 2019

There's no tutorial to be found in this puzzle game that will likely be hard to grasp for most. Once you get the grip of the color-changing mechanics, it can easily become a rewarding puzzle experience. If you're a casual puzzle fan, look elsewhere: this is one of the toughest puzzling experiences out there. Tease your brain in a handful of dimensions.

A dark game with a satirical edge, this is an addictive, fun and challenging game. The concept is unique with only a few frustrations, like a steep learning curve and sometimes fiddly controls, that stop this from being truly great. Worth checking out!

8.5 / 10.0 - Pokémon: Let's Go
Jan 1, 2019

Overall, Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee achieve what they set out to in the beginning. They bring series' veterans back into the fold while also making it easy for newcomers to see what the ‘core' RPG games have been about all these years. The catching mechanic turned out to be a welcome change and it turns out I actually want more to change with the formula as a result. Here's to more Pokémon in 2019 and hopefully there's some fresh new ideas in store.

All in all, RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures is not worth buying. The gameplay isn't fun enough to keep you hooked, and every time I came back to it I left disappointed.

Puzzle Bobble is a habit-forming game to be sure. Actually, that's probably an understatement. This arcade original launched a series that continues to keep me addicted to this day.

Whether or not it is your first time playing or the tenth time, Grim Fandango Remastered still seems enjoyable and holds up over all these years. Although there are a few complaints here and there they are minor and shouldn't be held too much against the title. The overall story is a rewarding experience that should not be missed.
