All in all, Firewall Ultra is a game full of promise, but which fails to deliver. What's more, in addition to making almost no use of the PS VR2 headset's technologies, the developers haven't mastered them very well. What's more, the graphics are pretty and you can have a lot of fun if you play with friends. And once again, with PS VR2's low market penetration, matchmaking takes a long time. Without being bad, Firewall Ultra doesn't seize the opportunity to place itself above the fray in the offering of games of this style. I'd recommend waiting for a discount, or buying it if you're a group of VR gamers.

As you can see, Lords of the Fallen won't be one of our Games of the Year in 2023. While the title is still an improvement on what it offered us in 2014, we're not there yet. Yes, Axiom and Umbral are beautiful and make the game intriguing. But we quickly discover all the game's negative points, and they're far too present to make the overall experience enjoyable. The combat can be excellent or mediocre, the level design disappointing and the story uninteresting. Perhaps we'll be treated to a third attempt in the future? As far as I'm concerned, I'll be missing out this time...

WarioWare: Move It! is a really fun party game that makes great use of the Joy-Con to come up with a wide variety of very original mini games. Although the story is a bit short and the characters underused, the multiplayer makes it a worthwhile addition to any household with more than one player.

Jusant is undoubtedly one of the best surprises of 2023. Unveiled to gamers just a few months ago, DON'T NOD's title offers an unusual experience. The gameplay perfectly transcribes the movements of the climber, while the environment provides a dose of difficulty throughout the adventure. Although the experience is fairly short, and you sometimes feel a little lost in your progress, it's easy to immerse yourself in this adventure. I would, of course, have liked a little more, but I think the developers stopped at just the right moment to avoid the impression of doing the same thing over and over again. In short, a little nugget that I'd recommend to gamers looking for a slightly different experience.

Although Song of Nunu lacks depth, it picks up on the charm of the character interactions and weaves a simple but interesting story that will keep you hooked right to the end. It's great fun to play from start to finish. With a lifespan of around ten hours and little replayability, the game is still worth playing if you're looking for a cozy experience or a game to play with your younger ones.

This Bed We Made offers a great narrative that completely absorbs the player into discovering each of its mysteries. The game addresses a lot of serious themes of the 50s in brilliant ways which makes the story even more believable. What it lacks in visuals, it definitely compensate with great story-telling which is the most important element in my opinion anyway.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is another excellent Nintendo Switch title that shows the company is still able to come up with brilliant new ideas. I loved every single hours spent in this new 2D Mario world and I hope there's more content coming in the near futur. There's no reason to hesitate, this is one of the best games of the console.

Wild Card Football's arcade experience succeeds in its main aim: to be above all a fun experience. We enjoy creating our own team, customizing it and using our powers to overcome any opponent. Nevertheless, matches quickly become repetitive, and the only interest is to play online. Frustration can set in if your opponent takes a malicious pleasure in waiting until the end of the countdown. Perhaps I'd have liked even shorter quarters, and why not cut the game in half? Technical problems also seem to greatly hamper the game on certain platforms.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 built on the strenghts of the first games to enhance the experience of players in almost every aspect. The scenario is more polished thanks to great actors and epic moments. The gameplay maintains its fluidity while adding many moves to make combats feel even better. New York is twice as big, but it's never been as easy, fun and quick to travel. Insomniac delivered another banger that will make you feel like the most amazing of superheroes.

I was rather skeptical about having a sequel so soon, but I'm forced to admit that Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged has succeeded. The title offers several new features that further diversify the pleasures. While the soundtrack remains repetitive and I was hoping to keep the environments from the last game as well as the new ones, the game remains more interesting. The more comprehensive story mode is an excellent introduction to the different types of racing. The art direction remains faithful to the actual license, and will undoubtedly provide fun for young and old alike.

Some of you may find the game more challenging, as the comparison with Chrono Trigger is strong. And when it comes to nostalgia, not everyone will agree. But if you take the game for what it is, you're in for a real treat. Rare are the games of this genre in recent years that have had such an effect on me, the closest being Chained Echoes. But Sea of Stars is everything you could want in a role-playing game. It's beautiful, it's gripping, it's enjoyable from start to finish. Well, as of today, it lacks the Quebec narrative. On The Messenger, it was hilarious. But given that this will be available by the end of the year, there's very little to reproach the game for. A few occasional technical glitches, but otherwise nothing to complain about. Sea of Stars will be on several lists of the best games of 2023, and with good reason. Don't be surprised if it takes top spot on several of them.

Highrise City is the culmination of an almost entirely solo project. The title makes a real attempt to distance itself from the other experiences available on the market. It offers an honest management aspect as well as a fairly advanced resource system. Nevertheless, the game fails to achieve the same overall quality in terms of interface, soundtrack and even visual proposition. There are still a few elements that need fine-tuning.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is a real success. CD Projekt RED has successfully diversified the experience, forcing you to play in different ways. There are many new additions, both to the new district and to the existing ones. The new characters are charismatic and have real depth. The story is also very gripping, and some of the choices will be very difficult to make. When I think of successful DLC, Phantom Liberty will be one of the titles I'll recommend without hesitation.

All in all, Super Bomberman R 2 offers a well-stocked online mode, but disappoints in single-player. The pleasure of battles royales or other online options fades when you try to advance in the main story. Fortunately, there's something for everyone, and the game is still very enjoyable. The problem is that 2023 is a year in which several great games have been released, making it harder to justify the purchase of Super Bomberman R 2. Nevertheless, if you're a fan of the genre, you'll enjoy it. For others who are new to the title, you may want to hold out for a discount, or have it offered as part of a subscription service.

In closing, The Return of Detective Pikachu is an entertaining spin-off that brings a fun new perspective to the universe. Sure, there are a few flaws, but the heartfelt story should satisfy even the youngest fans of the franchise.

The idea behind Paleo Pines is interesting enough, and offers a little variety for the genre. However, the execution behind this idea still seems to lack polish. The title's content is rather weak. I would have liked to have been able to decorate my house and have more objects to place on my plot. The artistic direction of its content lacks punch at times and is a little too uniform. Fortunately, the way in which the dinosaurs are adopted makes up for the shortcomings a little, but I'd mainly recommend the game to regulars of the genre who are keen to discover a new adventure. For neophytes, other experiences are far superior to Paleo Pines.

Quite simplistic, My Little Universe offers a refreshing experience with a unique concept and art direction. The game is very accessible and easy to understand, while the exploration of the planets makes you want to continue playing without stopping. The main drawback is the feeling of repetition that can be felt after several hours of play, and which may discourage some players. However, if you don't mind this element, you'll be overwhelmed by this survival adventure like no other. There's no doubt that this is an ideal game if you're looking for some mindless fun.

Forza Motorsport is the best racing game on the market, surpassing even Forza Horizon 5, whose style has always won me over. Immersion is at its peak from start to finish, and you fall in love with the driving of your vehicles and the feeling of progression. The game's visuals have been taken to the next level, and the developers have used the AI to great effect. I can't wait to see what Turn 10 has in store for us in the months and years to come.

For me, Assassin's Creed Mirage is the return to basics that many gamers have been hoping for. Infiltration makes a major comeback, without making the gameplay too rigid. The city of Baghdad is particularly dense and representative of the period. Even if the experience doesn't reinvent anything, it's pleasant to have a narrative put forward and a logical lifespan for this kind of game. While there are still a few technical problems, particularly with collisions, and there are few new features, the overall experience is fun. Now Ubisoft will have to roll up its sleeves for the next generation of this iconic franchise. A return to basics works for this time, and we mustn't repeat the mistakes of the past.

In conclusion, the first part of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC is okay, but nothing more. The story is really very light and we've already seen better in the Pokémon universe. However, I can't wait to see what happens next, because the ending hooked me enough to make me want to play part 2. For die-hard fans, the side quests and the many Pokémons to capture will easily extend the adventure by another 5-6 hours on top of the initial 3-4. So, if you're craving more Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, go for it. For the rest of you, I'll wait to see the quality of volume 2 before investing my $45.
