You’ll be glad when you get to play ‘Two Point Hospital JUMBO Edition’, why the game had brought up some hype in the business simulation genre a couple years ago. Even if you’re a newcomer to the series, the majority of the game’s well thought properties will minimize any stress over any problems, such as detailed tooltips and annotations to guide you throughout the progression. If you’re the next CEO in the making, the game’s in-depth simulation may keep you busy to become a diligent business owner. The obvious theme of various symptoms and human relationships among patients are well animated and presented in a humorous way to keep the player entertained.

For obvious reasons, the original game was released a while back, so most of the classic gameplay remains intact while it’s still quite enjoyable for those who enjoy turn based RPGs. Although during the remaster process, the devs considered some modern optimizations which might make more sense to the more recent generation of players. The gameplay and the story was praised as a root of many sequels and is still a great recommendation for the fans of this genre.

The sole purpose of this iteration of The King of Fighters game is to fully extend and evolve the possibilities and limits of the original ‘KOF 2002’ to its maximum potential. Rightfully so, KOF 2002 UM is one of the hardest KOF titles to master. Compared to many of the modern fighting games, the physical execution of special moves and combos have a very tight window to accurately pull off. For the serious competitors, the most difficult discipline is to try and play all of the 66 available characters, recognize each and every attack and defensive pattern, then improvise their capabilities until you can mix them into a psychological battle once you get to play against another human player. The PS4 version of the game has an improved online netcode which technically tries its best to emulate an offline gameplay experience, hence minimizing any input response delays. Out of all the available platforms, the PS4 version of the game is the most optimal version to play on.

Persona 5 Strikers packs quite a lot of content for a spin-off to the original (Persona 5). Offers some quality actions as its main gameplay ingredient, fans of the original title will truly appreciate this game and greatly recommend it to be added to their library. If action is not your go to genre, adjusting the difficulty will still allow you to enjoy all the contents, packed with detailed stories to uncover, which is very well woven together that you won't feel guilty with your lowered difficulty. This may be intended for all types of gamers to see the ending without much concern for progress. The story and gameplay isn’t the most traditional method of how the original Persona games were played, but it's definitely going to keep you seated for a good session for Persona fans all round.

If you’re looking for some chill and generic action-adventure experience, Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood is a perfect title to get by. It’s still enjoyable even while you’re trying to kill some time since the straight forward upgrade system makes minimum stress in developing strategies along the way. Unfortunately, most of the interactions were pretty typical and even when the plot thickens, the production quality wasn't as eye opening to be deemed very memorable. Most of the fun comes from the emphasis of the mechanics which allows you to transmorph into different wolf forms and switch some of the action into tactical infiltration. Since the game’s idea is fresh and promising, If they’re planning a sequel, we expect great improvements from the developers.

While the Nintendo Switch version of the game has a slightly downgraded visual resolutions and frame rate than other platforms, Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV: Diplomacy and Strategy Expansion Pack Bundle has a clever, possibly even smarter set of controls and accessibility with the addition of the touch and swipe screen function. But this was only possible because the game’s usual detailed strategy customization has become simplified. The Diplomacy and Strategy Expansion Pack adds more in-depth content but doesn’t highlight some of the butterfly effects of certain strategic decisions. Still an enjoyable game to those who expect complex drama and human interactions sprouting from different tactical outcomes.

Whether you’re a hardcore Falcom fan or a diehard follower of the ‘Trails’ series, this is the right time to get started with The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel Kai. This may be the JRPG which may convert you into a fan in no time. Since the full ‘Trails’ universe promises to become much greater as the story develops, this series will let you know what kind of world you’re getting yourself into. Packed with content and plots to uncover, alongside plenty of side quests to complete as well. Please beware that you’ll eventually notice several repeated character animations and even cringe worthy production value, so take care of your eyes and mind to have enough capacity to absorb them with a grain of salt as you play through.

80 / 100 - Märchen Forest
Jan 25, 2021

The game’s main interests are discovering endless mysteries during the dungeon exploration. Plot of the game shifts dramatically once your main quests in the forest are complete. Once you enter deep underground, It’s as if you’re playing a completely different game. There are plenty of side quests to keep you seated as well. Be careful once you commit to a long session in the dungeons though, as the player can easily get disoriented as the maps for your reference are intentionally hidden away from your grasp.

30 / 100 - Shing!
Jan 23, 2021

Developers of 'Shing!' praises their title as what could be the future of all arcade style beat'em-ups. As expected, the game requires fast reactions of the players in control of their characters, who will then be rewarded with seamless action and enemy encounters. Even with its old-school spirit, some of the meaningless conversation dialogs and confused enemy AI may feel a little lackluster and could defuse the intensity build up you've created along the way. In the Nintendo Switch version, we could notice some minor glitches during progress and struggles to display optimal frames-per-second visuals which made it difficult to enjoy all the combos and juggles. What's worse was when entering stage 6B, you'll encounter an inevitable error in the Switch version(v1.0.06), which wouldn't allow the players to see the game's ending.

This game has a highly concentrated amount of all trendy genres such as Rogue-like, Platformer, Action and most importantly, Pixel-art style. Definitely an action packed platformer with smooth controls and for a typical Pixel-art style look, it has decent overall quality of visual effects. Most of the fun comes from how you level up your main character, Skul. Due to its mixed nature of genres, it lacks to say what's so unique about the game but you won't be dissapointed for what you'd expect as a fan of this said genre.

The series tradition of scavenging for items and conjuring materials and tools with alchemy has become far more ideal and enjoyable. The plot however, felt like a quick patch up of leftover question marks from the prequel. As a fan, It still packs a wholesome gameplay experience, as you get to discover what happened to all the characters in the 3 years since the first adventure.

45 / 100 - Cyberpunk 2077
Dec 14, 2020

Unless you have the absolute highest-end PC, you won't yet get to experience Cyberpunk 2077 to its fullest potential. What’s more drastic is that the console versions of the game have concerning amounts of glitches, to the point where it's more appropriate to be described as an incomplete product on arrival. Of course, if these technical shenanigans weren’t an eyesore, it would have been on the level of pleasing many types of gamers out there. For now, you should probably stay away from attempting to play the console versions.

One of the best fitness related video games for those who live in the era of decreasing access to exercise. The motion controls of Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise is not always going to be perfect, but as you progress with the virtual trainer commanding, you will physically level-up at every step of this fitness adventure. The fact that you won’t have to stress too much about creating unwanted noise for your neighbors (and being able to produce the most out of the space in your bedroom) is a gigantic advantage in comparison to other physical activity games.

Of all Musou genre titles out there, this Zelda spin-off of the original The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, is not just a reskinned Mosou series but a complete package full of cutting-edge animation and strategic properties to interact with. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity leaves a mark for fans and enthusiasts of all Zelda franchises as well as those who enjoy Mosou style of mass hack and slasher action genres. There are some technical hiccups when there are too many objects and enemies, but it is well forgiven due to the highly polished level of the game as well as some of the background explanations and additional storylines to fill in the gaps of some of the question marks from BOTW. If you want to experience the full circle of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, we recommend you play BOTW to the fullest and see its ending first.

After a long 27 or so years, being able to play Zero Team on a home console via Arcade Archives is already a remarkable feat. Finally, the main menu and settings of Arcade Archives have continuously become polished to be considered even more user friendly.

87 / 100 - QV
Nov 21, 2020

What’s refreshing is the fact that in QV, there are minor usages of recycling of the same puzzle mechanics as you advance the stages, thus all the stage encounters feel unique and challenging. Multiple difficulty levels and unique achievements to unlock brings in replay value to the fullest. Style and artwork delivers the crisp and cool vibe from the main menu screen to the ending. This value for money puzzle game has more than enough value in this fully diverse package of contents.

An affordable game with a full character dialog dub is a rare combination, but an RPG that tried its best to bring you as much contents it can, the pricing of just under $20 and especially if you were a fan of their original game, it’s well worth the spend to explore the stories of your favorite characters. The only nitpicks would be where the game’s UI could have taken more advantage of the Nintendo Switch’s key features.

80 / 100 - Mad Rat Dead
Nov 12, 2020

Side scrolling platformer with a mix of rhythm genre is a cool concept where you’d be familiar with each of the universes but being able to fuse them both at the same time is a breath of fresh air. Since the basis of a rhythm game forces you to follow the beat which is a bit far from freedom, it’s an adventure that’s worth giving a test drive. Sharp visuals, awesome soundtracks and the story plot are well in harmony. The volume of the contents may not be everyone’s vibe as well as the hefty pricing it chose to perform at. If you’re into completely new things, definitely give this game a go.

If you lived in the era of SNES JRPGs and truly understand the definition of how classic games were meant to be played, the detailed stories and music will at least shield you through most of the ‘stuff you had to endure’ back then.
