INDIKA is a beautifully crafted story-driven adventure that is definitely not a game for everyone. While it is a short game to play through, there are times when the darker themes are highly prevalent and overwhelming and times when the game seems a little too quiet.
Tales of Kenzera: ZAU is exactly what we deserve, as we’re getting a great package for a very low price. This isn’t often that you can say that about a game until you meet this one. I would strongly recommend any player, especially those who are grieving to play this, and you’ll surely obtain one of the most heartwarming experiences in recent years. Do I consider this to be a genuine Game of the Year contender? You bet I do.
It’s good to have Top Spin return after a 10+ hiatus, and you’d definitely have fun playing TopSpin 2K25 whether you’re alone or with a friend. Unfortunately, you should probably wait for a sale because the price for this game is unjustified, especially when it comes to the gameplay you’re getting out of it.
There are plenty of moments where Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes feels like a relic of the past. As if the game’s code was found in an old ’90s PC, polished and adapted to newer consoles. This is not to say that it is a bad thing, but a marvel of our time, baggage, and all. The way they were able to so clearly capture the essence of what a timeless JRPG is here will undoubtedly enrapture a certain kind of player yearning for those golden days when there wasn’t a care in the world and all we had were games.
Although it isn’t as good as the more memorable Shredder’s Revenge, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants has just about managed to become a fun experience that pretty much requires that you play with at least a friend to get the ultimate experience. It’s been long overdue, so it’s good that this has finally made it to consoles and PC. And although it’s only local, I’d still recommend this to other players, even if they plan on playing this game on the side to take a little break from playing the much higher profile titles.
Finding the right balance between responsiveness and user-friendly controls is essential and it’s crucial for games like Ready, Steady, Ship! to have this this balanced effectively to ensure that players can fully appreciate and enjoy the game without being hindered by overly finicky controls. I enjoyed my time playing Ready, Steady Ship! and might revisit it at some point to collect more stars but as of right now I’m putting my hard hat down and ordering some food so I don’t have to leave my house.
The Mildew Children had a lot of potential, and the atmosphere, art, and plot of the game are all very well crafted, There are however some elements of that game that could have been done with some more thought and maybe some more work. Though, if you are a fan of this genre I would still say this game is worth a look, it doesn’t bring some interesting ideas to the table.
Rauniot is an odd but interesting concept that can benefit from some more love. While visually the game is pretty and displays a nuclear war-torn world quite well, it does sometimes feel a bit slow and interactions could use less suspense-building pauses in between and more of a snappy delivery, Rauniot is a good game but could use something more to set itself apart.
If you are someone who enjoys a story-rich gaming experience, Harold Halibut is an absolute gem that deserves a spot on your must-play list. Harold is an enchanting character who helps to bring the stories of the people of the FEDORA 1 to life. Harold’s journey is not just about unraveling the mysteries of the FEDORA 1 but also about self-discovery and personal growth. Slow Bros deserves to be recognized for Harold Halibut, they have poured so much into this game that even if you don’t usually enjoy these types of games or this game genre it is still worth giving it a try.
Broken Roads feels like a game plucked out of the late 90s era of RPGs. It lacks a lot of quality-of-life features seen in most modern games. But, for some that lack of hand-holding may be what you’re looking for. The Australian Outback theme is rather unique, so that might be an additional appeal. Otherwise, Broken Roads is lacking in cohesion and is really only for the most die-hard RPG fans.
Ereban: Shadow Legacy is a fun and well-crafted stealth game that would eventually draw non-stealth game enthusiasts. It’s not even that tactical and breakdowns between stealth sections give a breather to the player, making it a narrative action game rather than a serious stealth game where you have to save a president or something. Sure, some bugs did occur during my gameplay, such as falling through the map geometry or watching Ayana getting clipped while crouching on stairs.
If you’re a fan of Smite and you’re eagerly awaiting Smite 2, maybe you should give Gigantic: Rampage Edition a go, it might surprise you and you may find yourself playing it more and more. I know I’ll be hopping on again with my friends and taking on the Guardian.
While Minishoot’ Adventures is a fun, casual game to play, unfortunately, it’s not a game that I can see making a big splash. It doesn’t have much replayability to it and I won’t find myself looking to play it again soon. The adventure was interesting as I was exploring and fighting my way through the game, but I forgot about it once I stopped playing the game.
Buckshot Roulette is an intriguing darkly themed gambling game. The stakes are high for thrill-seekers and those who are a little curious about Russian Roulette, it could just be what they seek when they take a gamble with The Dealer deep in the underground club.
Thanks to One Last Breath’s interest in reviving this sort-of-forgotten subgenre, it was a refresher, at least for me. That doesn’t totally mean One Last Breath was a bit tedious to go to due to the simple puzzles, but hey, it was at least trying to put out an important message.
Between Horizons ends up being a nice proof of the “It isn’t broken, don’t fix it.” mentality, where the developers expanded what they knew about the detective genre. The game does not punish you for skipping some of the important bits while researching and rewards you for being right about your suspicions, which creates an even ground for both experienced and inexperienced players. If you are looking for a detective game with lots of in-depth and happen to have a fair share of clues to follow, then you should definitely check out Between Horizons‘ detailed adventure.
Distant Bloom is a fantastic cozy management game for those who just want to sit back and relax while going through a heartwarming story. The game plays a big part in the environmental theme without making it stressful or frustrating.
Rise of the Rōnin is certainly not the masterpiece we were hoping for, but it’s extremely close to being one. What you’re already getting with the intriguing story, outstanding weaponry, excellent combat, refined mechanics, and so on are more than enough to provide a phenomenally gripping, historical, action-packed RPG experience.
Flawless is the perfect term to describe Dragon’s Dogma 2, and it portrays a beyond-sheer level of magnificence, making it one of Capcom’s greatest projects ever. This isn’t even close to being an exaggeration, but not only is this a Game of the Year contender, but it might be an all-time great. Not once did I feel the need to turn off the game and would often feel miffed whenever I had to.
Considering the overall presentation, these three unique chapters with different gameplay styles and a short runtime are worthy of a playthrough, especially if you are a fan of the series. All of the stories are connected by a single thread, and to see the care put into The Twilight Zone VR with abundant nods to its creator and what came before it is satisfying to see for the fans.
