7 / 10.0 - Cloud Cutter
Jun 6, 2021

Cloud Cutter successfully revives the old genre of classic NES arcade games and brings this style in a beautiful new coat with perfect gameplay. However, the game is relatively short and is perfect as a relaxing afternoon diversion, or when you just want to sit down at the PC and reminisce about the old days at the candy store vending machine or your NES box and TV. Definitely a clear choice for fans of the genre these days.

Interrogation: You will be deceived is unfortunately not for all players due to the more difficult English and the overall gameplay style. Don't really expect much action here. Rather than that, the title is focused on a well-written story that will simply keep you entertained. However, if you have a good foundation in English and enjoy making decisions about your actions and seeing the consequences of them, you should be able to get through the title without too much trouble. I can definitely recommend this game to you. You can purchase the title on Steam for €12.99.

The Hand of Merlin is a challenging roguelike RPG with turn-based battles and many multiple choice decisions. If you like a bit of reading and especially enjoy tactical turn-based combat, this title is right up your alley. For a title in early access, it really offers a lot of fun. You can get the game on Steam for €22.49.

4 / 10.0 - Inner Chains
Jun 3, 2021

This game really had a lot of potential and at first I thought it would be the older brother of the anticipated Scorn, but Inner Chains is an example of how to kill great potential. The price of 20€ is really considerably inadequate, especially since the game can be played at ease and 100% in about two hours.

10 / 10.0 - Subnautica
May 30, 2021

I've been playing Subnautica practically since Early Access and it won me over immediately. There were many times when I was just aimlessly swimming or enjoying the graphics. Other times I was playing with my submarine and chasing various animals. I regularly expanded my underwater base while also watching other players on the forums to see what master bases they had built. The game offers a great deal of fun and will practically become a guzzler of your time because it is simply fun, original and very catchy. In addition, Subnautica Below Zero is now available, which will be set on a frozen planet for a change, and I'm curious to see if the developers will be able to surpass the high bar they've set themselves.

7 / 10.0 - Dorfromantik
May 29, 2021

Dorfromantik is an unpretentious affair, where you spend hours, have a good time and suddenly find it's time to get up for work. Each failed attempt will force you to improve, and so the whole concept becomes a sort of endless spiral that you usually can't free yourself from, so addictive is this game. The early access so far only offers a basic mode, which while it won't get tiresome after a while, you'll still be looking forward to some small changes coming in the future. Bottom line, Dorfromantik isn't some big deal that will make you sit on your butt, but on the other hand, it will pull you in with its fun gameplay, unpretentiousness, and most importantly, charming visual style.

Gallic wars: Battle Simulator is a game with nice, simple graphics, good controllability and a nice game environment. However, the game experience is short and the campaign ends after a few minutes. The game offers nothing else after that.

8 / 10.0 - Rustler
May 25, 2021

I was very pleasantly surprised by Rustler. At the beginning it was its setting in the Middle Ages and also the funny concept of the genre itself, however, I found a real liking only after about 2-3 hours of playing, when the game shows its aces. Rustler brings a breath of fresh air to the genre and in some situations really evoked that magical feeling from good old Grand Theft Auto 2.

8 / 10.0 - Black Mesa
May 24, 2021

Black Mesa is clearly one of the best remakes of the moment, and if you are a fan of the genre or looking for a good game that is not just a dull shooter, Black Mesa is the obvious choice for you. Moreover, the pleasant soundtrack can be listened to as a background during other activities.

8 / 10.0 - Trials of Fire
May 23, 2021

Trials of Fire perfectly balances the quest for survival with the desire to explore and discover the game world. The generic wastelands of Ashen are filled with all sorts of treasures, mysteries and enemies, so there's always something to do. The combat will quickly grab you and you won't want to stop. It's just a shame the slightly confusing initial orientation to the whole system of controls, upgrades and fights will take a while due to the poor beginner tutorial. The map may be visually weak compared to the battlefield environment, but it offers so much that you won't know what to do next.

Lumberjack's Dynasty is more than just a good simulator that depicts the daily hard life of a real lumberjack. We have to praise both the idea and the gameplay, which is the most important aspect in simulators, although it may not suit everyone. The game boasts, among other things, pleasant graphics and atmosphere, complemented by a quality and immersive soundtrack. On the negative side, the game features poor AI, below-average physics assets and poor character dubbing. All in all, however, it is a pretty fun title that will keep you entertained for weeks, and maybe even months.

4 / 10.0 - Shelter 3
May 22, 2021

If you're not completely enamored with the Shelter series, starting with the third installment is probably not the way to go. Shelter 3 is not a sequel, but it doesn't have the same charm as the first one with the badgers. I wouldn't recommend the game with a clear conscience even to those who have played and enjoyed the previous installments. There is practically nothing new here.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice brought a fresh wind to the Dark Souls games, not only with its distinctive gameplay style, but especially with its setting in Japan. It manages to get you out of your chair more than once and literally put you in a "mood" where you want to punch someone hard to relieve your frustration. The title also has hilarious graphics, sound and story and is a definite "must" for all lovers of Dark Souls games and Japan.

10 / 10.0 - Factorio
May 20, 2021

It's not every day that you discover a game that you know after the first few hours that this is going to be something special. A game that is the very definition of the word sandbox. A game that you'll spend dozens, if not hundreds, of hours with and it will still surprise and entertain you.

7 / 10.0 - Stellaris
May 19, 2021

Stellaris is a dream come true for any fan of the sci-fi genre and strategy games. The graphical representation of the solar systems and the galaxy itself is breathtaking, but unfortunately for long-time strategy gamers Paradox's Stellaris may come across as simplistic. Many new players, who may even be intrigued by the setting, will be put off by the sheer inaccessibility of the game, due to either the need for better English language skills or a weak tutorial. However, I highly recommend that you don't break a leg over Stellaris and give it a try.

7 / 10.0 - The Medium
May 18, 2021

The Medium is a good piece, which can be faulted for some things, but they do not harm the title itself. As such, the Bloober Team has delivered a well-made game that definitely deserves a sequel. While at first glance it may seem like I'm just bitching about The Medium, the opposite is true. I enjoyed the game immensely and can recommend it with a clear conscience. You can purchase this title on Steam for €49.99, but personally I find the price too high for a title that you can finish in 7-9 hours.

7.5 / 10.0 - Elderborn
May 17, 2021

Elderborn offers a nice break when you just want to relax with an action game, chop up some enemies and enjoy the brutality. However, the game is relatively short and can be completed in under five hours, part of which will be the aforementioned puzzles.

Siege Survival: Gloria Victis has a fresh feel and offers a nice insight into the medieval castle defence from the perspective of the ordinary citizens trying to survive at any cost while supporting the soldiers defending the walls. However, the game revolves around the principle of securing food and water as quickly as possible, gathering materials and sending them to the defenders. While these activities are entertaining, thanks mainly to the variety of tools, they become very repetitive after a while. Furthermore, the inability to defend yourself a little better with your chosen townsman when confronted with an enemy patrol takes away from the more action-packed enjoyment of the game, which will hopefully change a little when the game is released and there's a chance to use the catapult. Thus, the revival of the stereotype also lies in the various moral decisions you will make as you play, which will affect lives in the game.

7 / 10.0 - TramSim
May 16, 2021

If you're looking for an unconventional simulator and you're tired of driving a truck or bus all the time, TramSim Vienna could be the title for you. The game offers a realistic and detailed representation of the Austrian capital. We must also praise the very good and authentic-looking trams, which make the ride a truly unique and unforgettable experience, and the virtual reality support. What brings the title down is mainly the little content, which does not justify the rather high price tag of 35 euros. Here, however, things could be remedied very soon. We must also mention the occasional bugs and the slightly higher hardware requirements. Nevertheless, this is an excellent game that offers a certain charm and will certainly find many fans.

Don't Starve Together is a great survival game that is hard to beat without the cooperation of friends. Everything seems trivial at first, but the principles and goals aren't clear from the start. Gradually, however, you'll get into the game and get so caught up in it that you won't believe how many hours you've spent. The cute design and great music are a high bonus. If you like a challenge, Don't Starve Together is for you. However, you have to count on the fact that the game won't give you anything for free and you'll have to invest a lot of effort to beat it. But it's definitely worth it.
