There were so many twists and turns during the three-hour story that I couldn’t even keep up. The heartbreaking plot of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake draws you in right from the start, and you won’t want to take your eyes off the game. You’ll even find yourself wishing it weren’t over. However, the game’s magical atmosphere is marred by bugs, which the developers will hopefully fix over time. The game’s unique controls remain, and it’ll take you a while to get used to the chaos again. If you haven’t played the original game, the remake is a great opportunity to make up for that. And if you’ve played it before, you can enjoy a nostalgic journey accompanied by modern visuals.

Although the wait for Rain World: Downpour was long, the resulting DLC is well worth it in terms of scope. The only minor issues might be the technical glitches that occasionally crop up with such a large amount of content, and the occasional inconsistency with the original game. However, unless you’re a lore purist, buying Downpour is a pretty clear choice.

Zoria: Age of Shattering isn’t a surprise, but it will definitely thrill RPG fans and convince them of its merits. While it does have a few shortcomings—such as the crafting system, occasional glitches with obstacles during combat, and a slightly hackneyed story—the excellent music, superb controls, and very good turn-based combat elevate the game. All in all, this is a slightly above-average title, and if a few updates are released in the future, the score could easily jump up another point.

Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance is an enjoyable real-time strategy game set in the fantastic Terminator universe. However, as you play, you’ll constantly feel a sense of constraint and untapped potential that the game clearly had. It’s nice, it’s good, but in the realm of RTS titles, it’s a solid average—it won’t offend anyone, but it doesn’t particularly stand out either.

Welcome to Paradize is shaping up to be a contender for the most controversial title of the year for me. Base-building? Great. Controlling zombies? Awesome. Riding on the back of an undead creature? Fun. Wiping out the undead? A bloodbath. Graphics? Average. Music? Non-existent. Humor and exaggeration? Fun for a while, but soon becomes terribly boring. I’m not sure what to make of this game, but one thing’s for sure: it’ll entertain any survival game fan. Sometimes, just being wacky isn’t enough to save the world.

You wrote that review of Skull and Bones in a really lighthearted way. Yes, because the folks at Ubisoft started this whole joke. The game was made for players from ten years ago, and after all the complications it went through during development, the developers should have just given up on it altogether. Instead of being a pirate, you become a ship—be like a ship, think like a ship, feel like a ship. But these days, that’s simply not enough. The dismal pace, the dreadful gameplay, the boring story, no land, the insane grind, opening chests—all of that is worth next to nothing in this game. I have to admit that I enjoy sailing into the unknown, but not when the same loop keeps playing over and over. So I’ll give the game credit for its naval battles and leave it at that, because I can’t think of anything else to say. When I factor in the price on top of that, I feel sorry for my piggy bank—just like when I bought Redfall. Then again, the pirates ripped me off, didn’t they?

Baldur’s Gate 3 is an exceptionally good game that caters to many playstyles, and modders have already paved the way for many more. Thanks to its high level of professionally executed complexity, combined with the overall coherence of both the story and the gameplay experience, the game deserves high praise and can rightly be considered one of the best RPGs of last year—or even of the past several years.

To me, Reveil is a surprising horror simulator with high-quality visuals and music. For my taste, though, the game is short and could use a slightly longer storyline. The ending is definitely shocking and unexpected. I’d compare this title to a mix of Layers of Fear and an escape room game. It’s definitely worth checking out, especially for any fan of horror games—that is, if you don’t mind simulators.

In my humble opinion, Internet Generation is a fun, colorful, and cute game among the beat ’em up titles. The game isn’t that long—it’ll take you about five to six hours to finish. I’m a little disappointed that English subtitles are missing in some places, so you can’t enjoy the game to its fullest. Otherwise, I’d recommend it to all fans of anime waifus and cute girls.

In my opinion, The Unliving is a very interesting title in the rogue-lite action RPG genre. Personally, I was charmed by its enjoyable gameplay, which even a complete beginner can handle. All of this is complemented by great pixel art, and the background music is simply a joy to listen to. The game also offers a variety of upgrades, and each new playthrough presents a slight difference, whether in the form of dialogue or the environment. I definitely have to admit that this game is worth trying out and is well worth your time.

WWE 2K24 is a solid fighting game that opens the door to the world of professional wrestling. Despite some frustrating moments and the game’s difficulty, it offers an entertaining experience for fans of the sport. With patience and practice, you can gradually master the mechanics and defeat stars like John Cena, for example.

If you fondly remember the open-world beginnings of the Assassin’s Creed series, enjoy lightning-fast, challenging combat, and are drawn to the idea of exploring late Edo-period Japan—which is teeming with authentic historical details—then Rise of the Ronin is exactly for you. You’ll only be disappointed if you put the game down too soon, before it has a chance to unfold to its full potential. Or if you’re expecting another cinematic blockbuster for the masses.

At its core, Asphalt 9: Legends offers a fairly interesting and, at first, entertaining arcade racing experience, but this is largely undermined by excessive monetization elements. Yes, you can get a lot of things completely for free, but the cost is hundreds of hours of gameplay and constant grinding, which isn’t really worth it given the constantly repetitive races. If you’re just looking to kill some time, Asphalt 9: Legends can be a good way to unwind. For more long-term gameplay, however, there are much more polished titles out there, especially on PC and gaming consoles. Six out of ten.

For me personally, Alone in the Dark is a title that revives this series, especially after the last disastrous installment. It offers a new, compelling story set in a beautifully and intricately detailed environment. I’d also give it extra credit for the voice acting and the actors who portrayed Emily and Edward and brought them to life. As for optimization, it will likely need some fine-tuning. The game will keep you entertained for several hours, but honestly, I think two playthroughs—one for each character—will be more than enough. Now we can only hope that this marks a fresh and successful start for the series.

Garden Life: A Cozy Simulator presents an interesting concept, but unfortunately suffers from several shortcomings. Despite these, the game may appeal to those seeking freedom in building and a relaxing atmosphere. I recommend keeping an eye on this title and waiting for any fixes or improvements from the developers. After all, there’s a certain magic hidden in the garden, and it’s up to you to decide whether you’ll set out to uncover it.

Expeditions: A MudRunner Game is a great follow-up to the previous Snowrunner and also introduces several new features and improvements. While its focus and greater accessibility may disappoint veterans of the series a bit, it still offers excellent physics and dozens of hours of massive, tough challenges. It’s just a shame there aren’t more locations—or at least more off-road vehicles. Seven out of ten.

Alone in the Dark: Illumination is truly the final nail in the coffin of this series. These days, the game has nothing to offer compared to titles like Alan Wake, Resident Evil, Left 4 Dead, and others. On top of that, it’s riddled with bugs and technical issues, and honestly, who among us wants to suffer through four or five hours of something like this? Plus, the servers are completely empty. As far as I’m concerned, it’s definitely a big “no” for this game.

Nightdive Studios has done it again. With Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster, they’re bringing players a title that doesn’t deserve to be forgotten—one that, many years after its release, still feels polished and relevant. Fans of the Star Wars franchise and first-person shooters, in particular, shouldn’t miss the remastered Dark Forces. The technical and design issues, stemming mainly from the original game’s age, aren’t serious enough to spoil the fun.

Robin Hood: Sherwood Builders may have been a bit of a tall order for the development studio, but in the end, it turned out to be an incredibly engaging game. It does have its ups and downs at times, but it delivers just about everything I could want from a game—a beautiful world, friends, adventure, and a living legend. Unfortunately, the sword combat, the constant need to check the hint menu, and the attempts to listen to the sounds of the forest detract from the game. But that’s okay, because Marian always cooks up something delicious.

So how should we ultimately rate Potion Permin? It’s better than average, but it falls a bit short of the top games. That doesn’t matter, though—the beautiful atmosphere, the enjoyable medical activities, and hunting in the woods will keep you entertained long enough for you to get your money’s worth. Unfortunately, doing the same thing over and over again and sometimes having to take care of my patients in ways that seemed pointless at times got on my nerves, but I suppose I was expecting too much from such a simple game.
