Ready or Not is a fun and realistic tactical shooter with a wide variety of missions and locations. Despite a few shortcomings in the AI behavior of its opponents, it offers enjoyable and engaging opportunities to play with both bots and real partners. The game is still in its early stages, so we can expect some of these issues to be addressed in the future. However, Ready or Not can be a good choice if you want a realistic and full-fledged experience packed with strategy.

The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition, despite its initial issues, is a fantastic remaster that brings this intriguing 2019 Fallout-style game to PC and next-gen consoles without compromising on quality or polish. It’s just a shame about a few minor issues and, in particular, the baffling pricing strategy Obsidian has adopted for this enhanced version. If you haven’t played The Outer Worlds yet and are planning to, go ahead and invest in the Spacer’s Choice Edition, which includes all content, including the two story expansions. You should definitely invest in this edition even if you own the base game and both story DLCs. For ten euros, this upgrade is definitely worth it. However, if you fall into the third group—meaning you own the base game but none or only one story DLC—you’ll first need to purchase the missing content from the original edition or pay the full price for the Spacer’s Choice Edition. It’s definitely worth purchasing the missing content from the original game and then taking advantage of the ten-euro upgrade option. Personally, however, I recommend waiting for a sale, as the original DLCs can be more than 50% cheaper during sales. It’s a real shame that Obsidian didn’t offer a more affordable bundle for this player base as well. I believe that such a move would have paid off more for them in the long run. Despite all that, the revamped The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition is a great achievement, and on behalf of us at Gaming Professors, I’m giving it a splendid eight out of ten.

Empires of the Undergrowth is an original and ambitious RTS project that offers a glimpse into the brutal animal kingdom. The game requires careful planning and logical thinking. You must protect the queen and ensure the expansion of your colony. The models of animals and various insects are well-done, and combined with sound effects and music, they create a great atmosphere. However, as an RTS, it lacks the tactical elements you might expect from classic strategy games.

Jagged Alliance 3 is undoubtedly one of the best titles in the turn-based tactical RPG genre. This game has just about everything that great old-school games offered—a long, non-linear campaign, excellent tactical elements, the ability to choose your own playstyle, the option to aim where you want during combat, a huge variety of distinct characters with their own personalities, and high replay value. The game’s graphics are perfect, and the atmosphere is enhanced by excellent sound design and a great soundtrack. What knocks the game off its imaginary throne is poor optimization, occasionally unbalanced difficulty, and a slightly clunky user interface. Even so, it’s a great title that fans of the genre—and especially players of the original Jagged Alliance—will appreciate.

Exoprimal is definitely a great third-person PvP/PvE game that skillfully blends the concept of dinosaurs with the modern world. The game offers a wide variety of character classes and different types of dinosaurs, all presented with beautiful graphics and solid optimization. The icing on the cake is the excellent soundtrack and pleasant sound design. Unfortunately, the game lacks variety. In other words, it will grab your attention and keep you entertained, but the fun fades away very quickly. Killing dinosaurs in PvE is entertaining, but the PvP aspect feels unbalanced, compounded by the absence of the diverse game modes found in other PvP titles—features that would certainly enhance the experience. Even so, it’s a solid game, and if you find a group of teammates, you’ll have a great time.

After all the ups and downs and controversies, it’s a relief to say that Six Days in Fallujah ultimately looks like a promising game that players—especially those tired of over-the-top, arcade-style shooters—should keep an eye on. With a good team, the streets of virtual Fallujah offer a completely different experience than classic multiplayer arenas. In Early Access mode, which offers only limited content, the game is best suited for military enthusiasts who have enough like-minded friends on their Steam friend list.

The game Testament: The Order of High Human has several strengths, such as its visual design, animation, and puzzles. These aspects are executed beautifully, but then flaws begin to emerge that are hard to overlook. Close-quarters combat with a sword is quite frustrating, and the AI literally does whatever it wants, whenever it wants. It’s definitely worth a try for fans of the genre, but this game certainly deserves some further tweaks.

Gripper is an action game that can keep you entertained for a few hours. If you enjoy fast-paced motorcycle rides or love a rush of adrenaline, you’ll definitely enjoy this game. However, we have to criticize the game’s poor controls and, at times, unpleasant audio and visual effects. The story didn’t really impress us either, and the most interesting part was actually the final sequence. The price doesn’t match the content offered, and it would be worth picking up the game only if you can find it on sale.

In Sound Mind is a light horror game with an excellent atmosphere, which is enhanced primarily by its sound design. The originality of the setting and the interesting gameplay mechanics also stand out. As for the downsides, I’d mainly point to the poorly implemented stealth mode—it didn’t turn out very well. Ultimately, though, In Sound Mind is definitely worth buying, because when it’s on sale, you get a lot of great music for very little money. Literally.

Showgunners brings a breath of fresh air to the world of turn-based tactical RPGs with its action and story set in the world of a twisted reality show. The story has the charm of classic 90s films, and combined with the gameplay, it creates just the right atmosphere. The gameplay combines exploration and action, and combat is where the game truly shines, as it’s very fair—what affects you also affects your enemies. Incorporating the fame and fan base of a reality show into the sponsor mechanics further enhances the gaming experience. For some players, however, the game may feel limiting, as it doesn’t offer as much freedom to create different skill builds as other similar games. It’s a great title if you’re new to the genre or if you’re looking for an action-packed game to really let off some steam.

Bum Simulator offers a wildly crazy glimpse into the world of street life. In addition to a story straight out of a sci-fi movie, you get a small open world, fun side quests, the ability to build a base, beg for money, and engage in fierce battles with members of a rival gang. On top of all that, you have your pigeon shurikens to help you out in tough situations. The combination of visuals and audio, along with the gameplay and various mechanics, gives the game a pleasant, crazy, and entertaining vibe that’s sure to amuse and help you unwind. However, this is not a simulator, as the title suggests, but rather a pleasant, entertaining arcade game designed for relaxation and fun.

Dordogne is a brief yet emotionally unforgettable adventure with a powerful message that transcends generations. The game draws you into a world of childhood memories through creative mini-games and touching moments centered on personal growth and self-discovery. Although the game may be relatively brief, its uniqueness lies in its artistic visuals, which transport the story into a watercolor world full of color and life. Despite its minor flaws, Dordogne serves as a bridge between the past and the present, reminding us of the importance of our memories and loved ones.

Risen is a polished RPG that offers plenty of gameplay. Although it’s an older game, it still manages to captivate players today, and perhaps its old-school style is what sparks nostalgia and makes you want to return to it even years later. The gameplay stumbles from time to time, but if you arm yourself with patience, it will provide you with an enjoyable gaming experience.

If you're a fan of simulation, building, and cleaning games—such as House Flipper—you're sure to enjoy Hotel Renovator as well. The game is definitely a relaxing experience where you can enjoy the process of demolition, tearing things down, and subsequent renovation. Hotel Renovator is engaging enough to keep you entertained for several hours and distract you from the real chores at home. Don’t be afraid to let your imagination run wild, and feel free to draw inspiration from others’ creations as you build your own unique hotel.

Lords and Villeins is a pixel art game that’s highly addictive, even for new players. Although I’m not a big fan of this genre, I really appreciated the clear and concise help section, where everything is explained perfectly. If you enjoy building cities, you’ll undoubtedly love this game.

Although TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 3 has its share of flaws, it isn’t a bad game by any means. If you’re looking for a motorcycle simulator and have grown tired of the MotoGP series, TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 3 could be an interesting alternative that will captivate you with its handling mechanics and even keep you entertained for a while. I can also recommend this title to owners of the previous installments; after all, three years have passed since the release of the second game, and I understand that many of you have certainly been waiting for a sequel. However, my recommendation only applies if you wait for a significant discount. The full price of 49.99 euros is unfortunately not justified for this new installment, given what it offers. If the developers ever drop the price to 29.99 euros, you can purchase TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 3 with a clear conscience. At the current price, however, don’t even bother—it’s better to invest your money elsewhere for now. Five and a half out of ten.

Trepang2 is a game that can be wholeheartedly recommended to anyone who enjoys first-person shooters. Gun enthusiasts, fans of the original F.E.A.R., or action movie buffs with a poster of Inspector Tequila hanging above their bed will be thrilled. Everyone else will have the chance to enjoy a shooter that, while not original at all, bears a striking resemblance to just one famous title from the distant year of 2005. In any case, I’ll be looking forward to the next game from Trepang Studios with optimism in my heart.

The remake of Pocket Mirror: GoldenerTraum is an absolutely enchanting and breathtaking horror JRPG released this year. Each character infuses the world around them with their own personality. It’s all complemented by a perfect soundtrack and a mysterious story hidden between the lines. What more could you ask for? If you’re familiar with the original version and love it, you’ll absolutely adore this one.

The Bridge Curse: Road to Salvation is a dark action-adventure game. You find yourself at Tungha University, where six students are trying to debunk an urban legend about a haunting ghost, but their ritual awakens a curse that cannot be broken. The Bridge Curse: Road to Salvation also combines elements of horror games like Outlast, Amnesia, and Penumbra, creating a dense atmosphere with a claustrophobic setting. However, the game suffers from issues with escape sequences and a linear approach. The Czech translation of the text may be difficult for players whose English is not at a basic level. Despite its shortcomings, it offers an atmospheric experience and an entertaining story with several playable characters.

Shame Legacy has a decent setting, but its stealth mechanics are quite frustrating, and its content bears a striking resemblance to other horror titles (and not just a few). It’s a below-average offering for the price. In my humble opinion, the game needs several fixes and improvements. For now, it remains a poor horror experience for me, which is a shame.
