Park Beyond is undoubtedly a very enjoyable and user-friendly amusement park simulator. Building the park is intuitive and fun. The attractions are also well-designed, both visually and in terms of sound. Thanks to this, the entire park feels lively, and the game successfully captures the authentic atmosphere of an amusement park. However, it’s more of a title for newcomers to the genre or players looking for a relaxing break rather than sophisticated management-focused building simulators. The game’s biggest drawback is its technical issues, which can really detract from the overall enjoyment of the game.

The new F1 23 is a welcome evolution of last year’s edition, featuring an improved driving model, better AI, and a few familiar returning elements. These include the return of red flags and the second installment of the Break Point story mode. Unfortunately, even that isn’t enough of a reason for owners of the previous edition to invest the full price in the new installment. F1 23 is thus better suited for players who own one of the older editions, such as F1 2020 or F1 2021. After all, the implementation of the Formula 3 championship, for example, is still missing, which would have at least slightly turned the tables. Despite all that, I can say that F1 23 is a good game, and on behalf of us at Gaming Professors, I’m giving it eight out of ten points.

Floodland is a game with enormous potential, and I hope the developers will continue working on it for a while longer. It still contains plenty of bugs that need to be fixed, especially in terms of gameplay. I’m really getting fed up with the constant freezing and slowdowns. On the other hand, it’s a very well-made simulator, and although there are occasional logistical issues with clunky graphics, all the building elements in it make sense. Including that fantastic soundtrack, which is capable of carrying the entire game on its own.

The new Amnesia: The Bunker isn’t a bad game. The semi-open world, the constant race against time, and exploring the different sections of the bunker are genuinely fun and can really get your nerves on edge at times. However, some elements spoil the atmosphere, and unfortunately, the biggest downside of this new installment is the most important part of all: the monster itself, which you’d normally be afraid of. But that doesn’t really happen, and after a while, its presence feels more annoying than terrifying. On behalf of us at Gaming Professors, I give this new installment seven out of ten points.

Glass Masquerade 3: Honeylines is a visually stunning and relaxing game that combines beautiful Art Deco-style graphics with logic puzzles. Although it doesn’t differ much from the previous installments, it offers new possibilities and variations in puzzle-solving. The graphics are appealing, and the music pleasantly complements the relaxing atmosphere. The game also offers various modes and statistics to encourage replayability. While the new features may drive some players up the wall, the third installment is an interesting sequel that, despite all efforts to bring something new to the series, has slightly overshadowed its original charm.

Brigandine: The Legend of Runersia is a fantastic game. The Nintendo port is definitely a success, and with its intuitive controls, great music, pleasant graphics, and six playable factions, it has won me over. The only real downside I see is the combat on the hex grid, which is unfortunately let down by the visuals as well. That’s truly a shame, because the variety is perfect, but it’s nothing you can’t get used to.

STORY OF SEASONS: A Wonderful Life is a laid-back game. You play as a farmer whose goal is to take care of your crops, animals, and family. To be honest, though, what I enjoyed most was creating my avatar and choosing my life partner. Taking care of chicks is great, but when you’re doing the same thing over and over again for days on end, it gets exhausting and tedious. Plus, the fact that it looks good doesn’t make up for the clunky controls or the repetitive music loop. As a remake, the game didn’t live up to the expectations set by its predecessor, but it’s satisfying enough for any fan of life simulation games.

Aliens: Dark Descent is one of the best games in the Alien universe and can easily stand alongside Alien: Isolation. The main draw is undoubtedly the atmosphere, which is simply fantastic and will completely immerse you. The concept of a squad-based tactical RPG, offering great tactical action complemented by unique elements such as a stress level system combined with stealth, will keep you entertained. However, the title is let down mainly by technical issues and minor flaws. If you’re looking for a squad-based tactical RPG with an emphasis on stealth, atmosphere, and real-time combat, this is the game for you.

LEGO Bricktales ultimately left me with mixed feelings. Although the graphics are solid, the puzzles are quite inventive, and the game is entertaining for a few hours, the unpolished technical aspects combined with the rather strictly limited gameplay give the impression of untapped potential. If you like LEGO and want to try a more original puzzle game, feel free to give Bricktales a shot, but you’re better off waiting for a sale. At thirty euros for about fifteen hours of one-time, slightly repetitive fun, the developers have definitely overpriced it.

A WAY OUT may be linear, but you’ll have a great time playing it with a friend for seven hours. In my opinion, the full price is a bit steep considering the playtime. You won’t be able to go back or veer off course, but on the other hand, the story will draw you in far more than the gameplay itself. At the same time, you’ll have to actively communicate with your co-op partner, which is definitely a nice addition to the game for some.

APICO is a charming sandbox simulator that also teaches you a thing or two. For fans of laid-back gameplay in a pleasant natural setting, this game is the perfect choice. The price of €16.79 is currently a bit on the high side, but it’s justified either by a discount or the promise of future updates. By purchasing the game, you’ll also be contributing to the #SaveTheBees charity, thereby improving the lives of some real bees.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective delivers a gripping story full of unexpected twists. Desert Dakar Rally is an exceptional racing game that transports you into a hellish race. Since its release, the developers have been actively working to improve it, striving to meet players’ expectations. It’s a unique endeavor, one of a kind, but it keeps hitting walls that not even a truck could get through. The negligible impact on track design, occasional glitches, and overly sensitive controls don’t help at all—and unfortunately, these are the fundamentals of racing games. It doesn’t matter that the soundtrack is great and the weather affects visibility. Navigating the road map or even using the navigator is top-notch and I really enjoy it, but it just isn’t enough. What’s great, though, is that the game has come a long way since its release and has its own player base, and it definitely deserves your attention and time—even if it takes a lot of it.

Diablo IV takes the series back to its roots, though its mechanics build on the previous installment and the mobile game Diablo Immortal. For those who want to enjoy a fantastical tale of temptation toward evil and also find the ARPG genre accessible, it offers a well-crafted campaign with a high degree of replay value. Conversely, for those primarily interested in action and competitive play, it offers more or less only what we’ve seen before; innovations are often met with negative or mixed reactions. Only time will tell how many loyal players Blizzard can retain. Unfortunately, everything is undermined by the paid battle pass and the overall aggressive monetization that Blizzard applies to in-game items.

Serial Cleaners features quirky characters you’ll simply fall in love with. The game is fresh and entertaining. Even as the difficulty ramps up, you’ll still enjoy sneaking past guards, destroying evidence, and—most of all—vacuuming up blood (it just has a certain charm, even in the snow). Plus, the constant strategizing will keep your brain engaged. Add to that some laid-back jazz-inspired music and a mafia boss, and you’re in for a treat. So grab your vacuum and head out to clean up the streets of New York.

MotoGP™23 is undoubtedly a very successful racing game. The development studio Milestone S.r.l. has proven that no one knows the world of MotoGP like they do. Compared to the previous installment, the game offers an improved career mode, along with new features that effectively ensure each season feels distinct from the last. Dynamic weather can influence the course of the race and does a great job. The visual presentation, within which this element is implemented, really elevates the entire atmosphere. Unfortunately, there are also elements here that knock the title back down to earth a bit. This shortcoming is mainly the sometimes extreme wheelies and rear-wheel lift, as well as the AI, which coordinates with the other racers against you.

I played Someday You’ll Return as soon as it came out. I bought the special edition and was already thrilled with it back then. A psychological horror game set in places I know and can actually visit is just amazing. And what’s this improved version like? For me personally, it’s even better, more dynamic, scarier—all of that is complemented by new puzzles, an ending, and lovely music. I have no choice but to happily recommend this game to you. So hurry up and head to the Moravian forests to save Stela.

Kynseed is a completely underrated gem that, for some reason, has fallen by the wayside and no one seems eager to bring it back into the spotlight. It features an original story, superb production values, relaxing music, and endless possibilities. It’s an endless game that every player will fall in love with. Sure, it has a few flaws, but that doesn’t stop everyone from wanting to play it.

Kirby: Planet Robobot strikes the perfect balance between the series’ traditional elements and original features that further enhance the gameplay and the desire to explore every corner of the futuristic planet Popstar. Generally, this installment is considered one of the best games in the Kirby franchise and is suitable for both loyal fans and players who haven’t yet had the chance to experience the world of our favorite pink ball. The game offers diverse gameplay combined with beautiful and colorful level design that showcases what the Nintendo 3DS console is capable of. Since Kirby: Planet Robobot was developed for the 3DS, we have the amazing opportunity to play this game on the go and enjoy it practically anywhere. Kirby: Planet Robobot is the perfect way to dive into this universe and join its colorful journey, which began back in 1992.

After Us is an emotional journey that takes players on a journey through a devastated, surreal world. The game explores the consequences of human actions on the environment and highlights their destructive power. Players control Gaia, a tiny spirit, and embark on a mission to restore life and hope to a ravaged planet. The game’s stunning visuals and environmental narrative effectively convey a message about ecological responsibility. Players explore the world, overcome obstacles, and must fight for survival. After Us offers a visually striking experience that encourages reflection on humanity’s impact on the world around us, but its content and gameplay don’t offer much in the way of excitement.
