Console-Tribe's Reviews

Apr 19, 2024

Absolutely Games debuts with a fun and enjoyable title that probably won't be memorable but is enjoyable throughout. Classified: France ’44 offers traditional turn-based strategy gameplay with some unique features that work and others that need more attention.

Inkulinati is a peculiar strategy game with layered and deep gameplay and a unique art style that offers many hours of fun, provided you get past the daunting tutorial.

78 / 100 - Unicorn Overlord
Apr 8, 2024

Unicorn Overlord is an original and well-crafted title, absolutely worth your attention. Its style, story, and narrative are compelling reasons to consider it, but the gameplay truly captivates players. It offers a sense of simplicity for casual gamers focused on the plot, while providing challenges for hardcore strategists. I highly recommend trying the extensive demo available in the store to experience its undeniable quality firsthand before deciding to buy it. Overall, it's highly recommended.

In conclusion, South Park: Snow Day! isn’t the best co-op hack ‘n slash on the market, but it’s fun and perfectly captures the anarchic humor of the TV series. Despite content shortcomings and the lack of crossplay, it offers a sufficient gameplay structure with classic ideas reinterpreted in a South Park style. With long-term support, it could become an unmissable co-op game!

95 / 100 - Dragon's Dogma 2
Apr 6, 2024

Dragon’s Dogma II is the natural evolution of a saga that compromised due to technological limits over ten years ago. Now free of those limits, Capcom’s action/RPG presents itself in majestic form. Even if the story sometimes feels like a rehash of the first chapter, its amazing gameplay and vast open world make it a masterpiece.

80 / 100 - MLB The Show 24
Apr 3, 2024

MLB The Show 24 once again confirms itself as the most complete and satisfying baseball simulation on the market. It offers a rich content experience with an engaging career mode, solid online component, and a variety of options for all tastes. The gameplay has been further refined, with a deeper pitching and batting system and increasingly realistic game physics. The technical department is top-notch, with excellent sound and graphics that, despite some flaws, deliver moments of great visual impact. The only real drawback is the total absence of an Italian localization, limiting the game's accessibility to a broader audience.

Outcast: A New Beginning is a good product that will surely please the veteran fans of the original game. Appeal Studios has crafted a generally good game, though not perfect. The dynamic and fun gameplay is hampered by a shaky technical department and a somewhat predictable and not particularly exciting narrative. Overall, the game honors the legendary original, though it clearly needs ongoing polishing to perfect and improve what can still be enhanced.

70 / 100 - REVEIL
Mar 28, 2024

Reveil is an interesting experience that, while not original, stands out with a well-crafted script and a twist that catches the player off guard. The gameplay is solid, with well-structured puzzles and inspired level design, but the brief modern survival horror-style hunting sections feel out of place, and the protagonist's vocal performance is lackluster. Fear is minimal, leaving room for tension that never turns into true terror. Despite these flaws, the game is enjoyable, more for its story than its gameplay.

After my time in the Bakumatsu period, Rise of The Ronin reminded me of the often-overlooked Days Gone. Like the Bend title, Team Ninja's latest work shares many strengths and weaknesses: a derivative structure and questionable technical polish, but it’s incredibly fun gameplay hides some of its uncertainties. Crossing blades with other ronin and historical figures offers palpable joy, making up for the less impressive visuals and a weak enemy AI. If you're ready to compromise with a familiar structure, this journey in late 19th century Japan can surprise you. It may not be perfect, but it's undeniably fun.

89 / 100 - Humanity
Mar 22, 2024

Humanity is an excellent product, without a doubt: in its conceptual simplicity, Enhance's product transports us to a mystical world with gameplay mechanics inspired by Lemmings but naturally more original and evolved. A long campaign that shifts from classic puzzle norms to more action-oriented gameplay, along with a creative mode to craft or download levels, makes for an intriguing and long-lasting experience. Its only flaw is not being a true VR port but rather a straightforward translation to the Meta platform.

50 / 100 - HappyFunland
Mar 22, 2024

I had high hopes for HappyFunland, eager for a good virtual horror experience. Unfortunately, despite an interesting and well-crafted setting and intriguing narrative, Spectral Illusions' game comes across as very rough, with simply terrible combat that ruins the overall experience. It's a real shame because exploring the decrepit amusement park and delving into its lore shows great potential. Given its gameplay flaws and short duration, it's hard to recommend.

80 / 100 - WWE 2K24
Mar 20, 2024

WWE 2K24 lacks significant gameplay innovations and a technological revolution due to its cross-gen nature, but it feels like the definitive chapter after the series' reboot with 2K22. It’s the culmination of 40 years of Wrestlemania and what this entertainment sport can offer. With the largest roster ever for the series and many modes, some more successful than others, it can entertain all tastes for many hours.

Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection is a window to a past centered on carefree, instant fun, but also a window to a present plagued by bugs and server issues. As things stand, it's worth buying only for singleplayer, where the collection showcases the best of what Pandemic's two games offered. Those interested in multiplayer might want to wait a few weeks, hoping Aspyr fixes the issues.

In conclusion, Expeditions: A MudRunner Game is an excellent off-road simulator with a strange scientific theme that serves mainly to justify the explorations. Its realistic physics and gameplay possibilities delight the player with challenging maps requiring increasing skill in handling the off-road vehicle and its gadgets to complete levels. Not suitable for everyone due to its intrinsic complexity and tedious preparation menus for each expedition, but understandable for ensuring sufficient preparation.

No, Alone in the Dark doesn't replicate the success of the first chapter of the franchise, but it's more convincing than recent experiments tied to this historic brand. With an excellent atmosphere and reflective, old-school gameplay, it falters with an inconsistent action component. The two campaigns are too similar to be fully convincing. Recommended for those seeking a classic, less frantic survival horror.

Llamasoft: The Jeff Minter Story isn't a video game in the true sense but aims to be an interactive documentary. It effectively shifts from simple information to the exciting possibility of testing what’s just been explained. It's an exhaustive look at Jeff's career and highly recommended if you feel an irresistible urge to shoot a camel.

There's not much more to add about Cat and Ghostly Road except that it's a missed opportunity. Narratively and artistically, BOV's work is solid, but it's marred by gameplay situations that make progression less enjoyable.

I don't claim to hold the truth, but if you're fundamentally opposed to how Square Enix has handled this remake trilogy, this review won’t change your mind about Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. However, I believe it’s a shame and unfair to Nomura and the team, who've delivered a compelling RPG experience. Despite technical flaws, the game offers dynamic combat and varied structure, making it one of the most beautiful and engaging Final Fantasy games.
