80 / 100 - The Alters
Jul 15, 2025

The Alters is a bold and thought-provoking experience, blending sci-fi survival with deep psychological themes. Managing your clones while racing against time creates real tension, and the game’s artistic direction is both striking and atmospheric. Despite some repetitive structure, The Alters stands out for its narrative depth and meaningful choices. It may not be for everyone, but it certainly leaves a mark.

Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream" is a surprisingly polished gem that fearlessly explores the darker sides of human nature and society. River End Games delivers a rich narrative, memorable characters, and evolving stealth gameplay filled with clever puzzles. High-quality visuals and sound design bring the fictional world of Eriksholm to life, topped off with flawless English voice acting. If you enjoy story-driven adventures and strategy-based stealth games that challenge your mind, don’t miss this one.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is a good action game in the roguelike style, with a lovely aesthetic that's "respectful" of the comic book tradition, as well as overall solid and fun gameplay. The co-op mode adds several levels of fun and strategy to the game, which, however, suffers from the classic problems of (almost) all titles in the genre: irremediable and irreversible repetitiveness. That said, at a very affordable price, the game could prove to be an unexpectedly valuable time-killer, especially if you have a friend to play it with.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach may follow a simple premise—like the single line through two points—but it's rich with layers. Hideo Kojima’s latest creation blends survival management, narrative adventure, third-person shooting, brawling, musical elements, and cinematic flair. After 400 kilometers reconnecting a collapsing Australia, it’s clear this is a lavish production, refined from the 2019 original. While the story may falter at times, the gameplay remains compelling—though unlikely to win over those who didn’t enjoy the first game. Still, it’s a masterclass in high-budget creativity, and when “To The Wilder” plays over the credits, it’s hard not to long for more time on those dusty roads.

80 / 100 - Rematch
Jul 1, 2025

Rematch is an absolutely fun and sui generis football game, a real low-cost alternative to more famous (and in some ways, stale) productions. Unique design, excellent controls and a simple and addictive gameplay will help immerse us in an infinite loop of play. High-level images and animations confirm once again Sloclap as one of the best realities of the videogame scene. The experience, at the moment, is not yet perfect and there are many shortcomings and rough edges to file, but it is only a matter of time. Probably, the best "casual but not too much" football experience in relation to the low launch price.

55 / 100 - Tamagotchi Plaza
Jun 30, 2025

Tamagotchi Plaza features the usual charming characters the series is known for, but sadly misses the mark. It fails to offer an experience suited to its audience, with gameplay that feels designed for a completely different platform. The lack of tutorials or clear objectives means some shops require several trial-and-error attempts just to understand how they work, slowing down an already repetitive and uninspired pace, and offering very little to the player. I sincerely hope for a complete shift in both development and vision before we see more titles that could risk damaging the legacy of this iconic franchise.

80 / 100 - F1 25
Jun 30, 2025

EA Sports F1 25 crosses the finish line with a solid, visually stunning experience. The use of Lidar enhances circuit realism, while the revamped Team Career mode adds strategic depth. The game includes varied modes like F1 World and Braking Point 3, appealing to both newcomers and veterans—provided they have a stable internet connection. Some drawbacks include predictable AI, uneven driver ratings, and limited Lidar application to only five tracks. Despite minor setbacks, the improved handling model and content-rich offering make it a benchmark for Formula 1 fans, delivering adrenaline, immersion, and fun.

Ruffy and the Riverside is a 3D platformer with a unique spirit and untapped potential. Its standout feature is the innovative SWAP mechanic, which brings clever puzzles and a refreshing twist to the genre. While its vibrant visual style adds to the charm, the overly long dialogues, limited puzzle flexibility, and repetitive audio hold it back. Despite these flaws, the game shines with originality and is worth experiencing—just be ready to make a few compromises.

Rooftops & Alleys offers a solid foundation, with responsive controls and interesting maps. Remarkably crafted by a solo developer, it's a well-packaged experience. However, limited content and modes make it feel more like an early access beta than a complete game. Still, fans will find enjoyment in its free play while waiting for updates, or perhaps a sequel.

50 / 100 - Tron: Catalyst
Jun 23, 2025

TRON: Catalyst is a visually faithful but ultimately underwhelming attempt to expand Disney’s digital universe. While the story and atmosphere capture the essence of the saga, the gameplay falls flat. Repetitive combat, a basic move set for Exo, uninspired level design, and minimal use of the iconic light cycles make the experience feel dull. Even the time-bending Glitch ability is underused, leaving the game appealing mainly to die-hard fans willing to overlook its flaws for a deeper dive into the Grid.

90 / 100 - Maestro
Jun 19, 2025

Maestro is easily one of the best music titles available on virtual platforms and missing it would be a real shame. Beyond its unique setting, what makes the experience truly unforgettable is the effortless way it draws you into its gameplay loop—both fun and flawlessly executed. Its strengths lie in a solid visual presentation and especially in the excellent hand tracking, which adds that extra spark. If you're a fan of music games, Maestro is a must-have. Skipping it? Now that would be criminal.

Spirit of the North 2 builds on the charm of the original with a larger world and deeper progression, but stumbles on rigid platforming, repetitive puzzles, and technical issues. Despite its heart and visual charm, it lacks the polish and depth to truly stand out.

Switch 2 Welcome Tour feels more like an interactive tech demo than a real video game. While it showcases the hardware's capabilities with style, its content is shallow, disconnected, and overpriced — especially considering you need all official accessories to 100% complete it. Interesting as a concept, forgettable as an experience.

While it doesn’t reinvent the genre, Lost in Random: The Eternal Die delivers a roguelike experience with a distinct personality. Its clever upgrade system adds a strategic twist to the familiar gameplay, and the Burton-inspired art style creates a captivating world. A solid recommendation for anyone seeking an accessible yet characterful roguelike.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED: Battle Destiny Remastered is a solid experience for mecha fans, especially those who love the SEED saga. Its dynamic combat, faithful presentation, and upgraded visuals make it a worthwhile title for dedicated fans. However, repetitive missions, simple environments, and the lack of online multiplayer limit its broader appeal. If you're a Gundam SEED enthusiast, it's a great way to relive or reshape the conflict. For newcomers, though, it might not be the best entry point — even if, alongside SD Gundam Battle Alliance, it stands as one of the better Gundam games on Switch.

Jun 10, 2025

Survival Kids on Nintendo Switch 2 offers a light, family-friendly take on the survival genre. Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo" shines as an outstanding metroidvania, reimagined through the unique concept of "yoyovania." The developers masterfully craft a deep and engaging gameplay experience around Pippit's yoyo, paired with smart progression and excellent level design. Despite a limited number of boss battles and occasional platforming challenges, the game stands out for its witty yet profound narrative, nostalgic 16-bit aesthetic, and a superb soundtrack enriched by Yoko Shimomura's touch. With solid localization and accessibility features, it’s a must-play indie adventure, offering around 20 hours of pure gaming joy.

Amerzone: The Explorer’s Legacy is a faithful and visually impressive remake that revives a forgotten gem from Benoît Sokal’s early work. While its rigid point-and-click mechanics may feel outdated, the game still offers a short yet atmospheric journey through a fascinating, decaying world. A solid choice for fans of classic adventure games and those curious about Sokal’s creative origins.
