Aside from the less than stellar implementation of the multiplayer #IDARB is a boat load of fun, easy to pick up and will have you laughing for hours. This Canadian made game manages to shine in nearly every department. It is a blast to play when you have some friends over for drinks as the hilarity is endless. Well done "Other Ocean Interactive" you have a winner on your hands.
Saints Row 4 fans have been waiting for this expansion to finally touch down for quite some time now and by and large the wait was worth it. The reimagined Saints Row version of Hell built from the ground up is impressive and much of the personality we have come to love about the franchise is prominently on display. Granted the game can be offensive at times but it never takes itself too seriously and is all about entertaining.
When you consider buying Blackguards 2, there are three questions you need to ask yourself. Do you enjoy tactics RPGs? Do you like an interesting high-fantasy story? Do you have hours and hours to sink into a new game? If you answered yes to any of these, then I'd definitely recommend checking out not only Blackguards 2 but its predecessor as well. Daedalic has done a great job at actually listening to the community to help improve their product, and I'm really happy to see what they've done. You're not going to get blown away, but you'll certainly be left with some fond memories and a solid experience.
If you're looking for a difficult yet incredibly fun platformer, look no further. While some of the game mechanics will leave you somewhat weary, overcoming the puzzles is very rewarding, especially when doing so with a friend. Kalimba offers a fresh new take on the traditional platformer, one that will cause both fits of rage and laughter.
This is a great game for friends and family to pass some time with, whether you're scattered across the world or conveniently located at home. Do yourself a favour and pick up a copy or four, there are monsters to be slain and victories to be had!
If you're a fan of the franchise or are just looking for a new tactics game, I wouldn't pass this over.
In the end there is really no excuse not to pick this content as you will enjoy many of the features found in Forza Horizon 2's core game, but in the new Storm Island setting. Now go on, get that truck or car dirty!
There's definitely a strong core game principle here, and all my problems with it are ones that can be solved with some continued developer TLC. Flying your ship feels good, the galaxy accurately conveys an immense sense of scale, the use of real life stars and planets adds an amazing sense of wonder, and the trading and combat systems have strong cores. Overall, Elite: Dangerous is really cool, but mostly as a tease of what it could be. I genuinely hope the developers continue to support it as they have thus far, because this game is just a few more levels of progression away from being truly incredible.
A title like this can be easily overlooked with a discounted price, featuring a sport perhaps many do not know much about and no real marketing push but MXGP is actually a pretty thorough exhibition of the sport of MXGP. It's decidedly more realistic take on the sport of MXGP may not endear fans looking for a more over the top MX vs ATV like experience but fans of the sport of motocross should enjoy this.
Scoring Valkyria Chronicles is really difficult for me. On one hand, I didn't necessarily enjoy the gameplay. On the other hand, the story was enjoyable and this really is an excellent PC port both visually and how smoothly it runs. For a game that came out in its original form so long ago, I tend to place more value on how well they ported the game to PC than how much I personally enjoyed it
When it comes down to it, Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions is a blast – no pun intended. Fans of the series will love it, and gamers with a competitive streak who are new to the series should take to it instantly. This is a definite buy for your Xbox One as it will bring back memories for veterans of the series while introducing the franchise to those who've never played it.
If you're accustomed to the themes and genres that the anime world offers and you want a humorous and customizable beat 'em up game, feel free to look into Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed.
It pains me to say it seeing as I had such high hopes but The Crew missed its mark by a long shot and just barely chugs over the starting line.
Even with the expansion included, Magic: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2015 doesn't offer enough variety and makes it too difficult to progress through the game without feeling pressured to buy cards with physical money. What this game seems good for however are those people who might be interested in playing the actual physical card game.
Granted it is not without some flaws, annoyances and price point appears a tad steep but at the end of the day this Lara Croft does the franchise proud.
In the end, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is an improvement in nearly every way to the original. It is a fun, highly addictive, and immersive experience that will grip you with its unique design, tight gameplay, high replay value, and compelling cast of characters. The Binding of Isaac Rebirth is one of the better games I have played this year, maybe of all time.
While Tiny Trooper: Joint Ops has some neat ideas perhaps my biggest criticism is that I didn't find myself overly compelled to return to it. It can be a fun diversion but lacks that "just one more level" sense of attraction.
It's a recycled formula that has worked over and over again and it has left some gameplay issues that should have been fixed long ago (e.g. floaty control or collision detection); however, the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" formula works and for many that will most likely be fine for them.
With addictive 3D puzzles that will certainly challenge the long time Mario fan and bright, colourful graphics and cute characters that will surely appeal to the young ones, there's something to offer for all audiences.
In terms of gameplay I found This War of Mine a little tedious and slow. I mostly wanted to hustle through the gameplay parts so I could see the story and my characters develop. It's not an amazing GAME, but it's an amazing experience.
