85 / 100 - Two Point Museum
Feb 25, 2025

A brilliant business management game in setting that I don't believe has been tackled before. Quirky exhibits and museums really add to the game. 'Two Point' does expect a little bit too much involvement for some exhibits. All in all a great tycoon game giving that 90's gameplay with modern day quality of life.

60 / 100 - RPG Maker WITH
Feb 21, 2025

While I will always advocate playing the PC versions of RPG Maker due to being more user friendly and allowing you to import your own resources as console limits this, I would say if you wanted to give making your own RPG on console a go, I would opt for RPG Maker MV over RPG Maker WITH as it feels closer to a PC Maker and is more user friendly but on console that is a hardly a great statement to stand by.

Trails Through Daybreak II is a slightly disappointing sequel to the first part into the Trails through Daybreak story arc. While I enjoy the character building and grinding the optional dungeon to unlock everything the game has to offer, the campaign itself feels bloated and seeing the same scene and rewinding time overstays its welcome long before the game would reach its conclusion.

I loved every moment of Dynasty Warriors: Origins and it’s an amazing return to form for the franchise that defines a genre and I can’t recommend it enough, I’d wholly recommend taking charge go the battle field and indulging in the romance of the three kingdoms in the best way Omega Force and Koei Tecmo know how, unrelenting 1 vs 1000 action.

Momodora: Moonlit Farewell may certainly be its final farewell but it is one that has gone out with a bang! If Bombservice plan to bring a new game to us in the future then I am all for it.

Nintendo serve us up yet another helping of Donkey Kong Country Returns HD. Whist it doesn't feel like a full remaster, it still plays well and has me pleading with Nintendo to make a full new DK game when the Nintendo Switch 2 arrives.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a mastercraft of an RPG, delivering a hyper-accurate recreation of Medieval Bohemia that is oozing charm, finesse and style out of every pore. Featuring an enthralling open world, mastercrafted combat, a superb narrative laden with political intrigue and deception, all brought to life by an amazing score and soundtrack from the excellent Jan Valta that immerses you in the world like never before. You owe it to yourself to pick this one up, as it’s easily one of the greatest video games I’ve ever played.

Citizen Sleeper 2 is a simple and yet challenging game, with an in depth story full of interesting characters. The controls are easy to use and remember as they appear on the screen next to the actions they control. The management aspect of the game is beautifully done, and the addition of the stress system and permanent penalties gives a need for caution and a real sense of risk to your actions.

Tales of Graces f Remastered is a JRPG which delivers a good story overall, fantastic combat and a good character building system outside of combat and one that will keep you occupied for a long time. If you're expecting new and improved features over the PS3 version then you won't find that however you will have access to all content from the get go.

Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero is a fun tactical JRPG with a great story and many systems to get to grips with for a fun pirate adventure, it may seem a bit complex for anyone not familiar and not all systems seem to be explained in depth, if at all, but once you get to grips with it theres a lot of fun to be had.

70 / 100 - FAIRY TAIL 2
Dec 21, 2024

Fairy Tail 2 is a good game but not spectacular. Anyone wanting to find a new JRPG having never delved into this series may have a good time but it's hard to recommend as this is for a niche audience, mainly those familiar with the Manga series. As a player who is not however the narrative was lost on me pretty early on and the gameplay didn't grip me enough to keep me interested enough to come back.

While Flint: Treasure of Oblivion had a few frustrating moments, I found the experience to be thoroughly enjoyable and a great pirate game, with an engaging story and a unique way of telling it.

Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered is a love letter to fans of the franchise, showcasing the love and passion that the community have for one of gaming’s most beloved, yet forgotten franchises. Featuring renewed textures & stellar performance, Raina Audron and Aspyr have reinvigorated two of the best games ever made for the modern audience, and even though the gameplay is a bit outdated and archaic, it doesn’t detract from what is arguably one of the greatest stories ever told.

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is a solid remake and a re-imagining of an original Dragon Quest game that captures a lot of the original charm of the game and brings it to a modern standard with fantastic graphics, an overall great soundtrack as you would expect it to and captures the hearts of nostalgic fans of classic JRPG's.

While RetroRealms: Double Feature is visually and atmospherically well-crafted, it’s a bit of a mixed bag across the board. The platformer gameplay and 16-bit art style are great, but that’s ultimately where it reaches heights, as the core loop and grind is extremely tedious that will only really appeal to the niche it’s intended for. Horror fans and retro enthusiasts will appreciate the homage to classic films and games, but at £20 a pop, it’s hard to recommend the games as they currently are, making it hard to justify the purchase.

70 / 100 - Mortal Kombat 1
Sep 26, 2023

Overall Mortal Kombat 1 feels more like two steps back and one step forward if you are to compare this to Mortal Kombat 9 which in itself was also a soft reboot. The story mode was engaging and kept me wanting to play to find out what happens. New implementations like the Kameo system felt a nice new touch. Online mode though did not engage me, I just felt like there wasn't enough in it to make me really get into it. On top of that the microtransactions did make me feel a little uneased with the future in which one of my favourite fighting games of all time is going.

Chants of Sennaar could have been a fun and puzzling adventure game but was sadly brought down by it's complexity and difficult yet unique game mechanics. However, maybe I'm just not smart enough for this game but it is one hundred percent worth checking out if you love a good challenge and enjoy working out puzzles.
