Shiren the Wonderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island comes suddenly and takes the position of ultimate Switch Mystery Dungeon, which belonged to the previous title in the series. The new visual, small improvements to the gameplay, and dynamic way to tell parallel stories and explore alternative routes are welcome additions to a formula that has already proved it works for over 30 years. If the high difficulty and somewhat repetitive formula aren't an issue, this can be an excellent addition to your hybrid console library.

6 / 10.0 - Born of Bread
Dec 16, 2023

Born of Bread appears as yet another Paper Mario clone that fails to achieve the balance that the original game has to offer. A series of inconsistencies, from the visuals to several basic game design and world-building choices, hinder the player's final experience. The offer of good RPGs on the Switch is too large for you to waste time on titles like this, unless unless you really miss something in the Paper Mario style and have already played the originals thousands of times.

8.5 / 10.0 - Super Mario RPG
Nov 28, 2023

Super Mario RPG effectively rescues the sensations produced by the original title and brings back an immortal Super Nintendo classic in style. Although the adventure is not very long or challenging, it shows its value through a light and humorous world, great characters, interesting mechanics, a series of small improvements and even some completely new content after the end of the main plot. New generations now have a better chance of not letting this classic pass away — and if you remember it fondly, it's definitely worth revisiting.

9 / 10.0 - Dave the Diver
Nov 6, 2023

Dave the Diver is a big surprise and a beautiful labor of love. The developers spent a lot of time trying to balance all the gameplay elements present in Diver Dave's adventure and they were clearly very successful in this attempt. Appreciators of a good video game will quickly realize that something special has been achieved here. This is one of the best titles of 2023 and an unmissable addition to your library of gems on Nintendo Switch.

Baten Kaitos I & II Remaster arrives as the ideal way to experience these two classics in 2023. After almost two decades trapped in the Nintendo GameCube, it is finally possible to experience all the strangeness and creativity that this dormant franchise has to offer. Both titles show their age at times, in addition to having their own specific flaws, but it is undeniable that this collection brings the right improvements for RPG fans and the curious to enjoy these adventures anywhere with the Switch.

8.5 / 10.0 - 30XX
Sep 11, 2023

30XX manages to improve all aspects of its promising predecessor and go beyond expectations. Many elements of the game just work, from the healthy heaping of content to the high level of challenge, beautiful graphics, competent sound, primorous animations, and smooth, precise gameplay like every game should have. As a result, the target public for the title's formula is ample, making it very easy to recommend 30XX to any kind of player.

CONVERGENCE: A League of Legends Story is a Metroidvania that fails to leave its unique identity and goes far from becoming an unmissable experience, but it would be wrong to say that the title is not quite pleasant for what it is. With an interesting cast of characters, a vibrant and different aesthetic and a series of moments in which the gameplay is quite creative and competent, it is not that difficult to recommend the title for someone looking for a new game of the genre for their collection. Performance issues on the Switch and a certain amount of thematic repetition during gameplay can get in the way, but they are not strong enough reasons to prevent most players from testing this adventure.

9 / 10.0 - Persona 4 Golden
Feb 4, 2023

Persona 4 Golden is an important and precious exponent of the history of Japanese RPGs and is finally available for Nintendo Switch in a big way. If you like the genre, or simply a good story, clever mechanics and a huge amount of content, don't waste time adding this classic to your hybrid console library.

9 / 10.0 - Rogue Legacy 2
Nov 29, 2022

Rogue Legacy 2 manages to bring back everything that worked in the first game and improve in almost all aspects. consegue trazer tudo que funcionou no primeiro jogo e melhorar quase todos os aspectos. Making use of the excellent premise and gameplay of the classic title, this sequel doesn't try to reinvent the wheel but knows how to get the most out of the strengths it already had and add a lot of content on top. Switch's performance is impeccable and playing this excellent roguelike in portable mode anywhere is highly recommended.

7 / 10.0 - Sifu
Nov 10, 2022

Sifu is a competent action game that manages to transport you straight to an old Jackie Chan movie. The fluidity and rhythm dictated by the title are impressive, and the feeling of memorizing combos and moving around the environment destroying hordes of challenging enemies will excite most players from beginning to end. Apart from structural issues such as the high level of difficulty and the constant repetition of similar challenges, unfortunately it is the Nintendo Switch hardware itself that appears as the biggest antagonist. If possible, it's best to opt for a console with fewer performance issues to get the most out of what martial arts has to offer.

7.5 / 10.0 - Tunic
Oct 4, 2022

Tunic is just as much of a charming and creative game as it is difficult and frustrating. It's easy to imagine its cute visuals and similarities to Zelda will attract a public who wouldn't be inclined to explore everything it has to offer. This is an adventure that demands sharp reflexes and a good dose of patience, masking a tough and tiresome experience with its adorable shell. The performance on Switch could have been better but it will hardly cause more players to abandon it as much as the title's high challenge.

8 / 10.0 - Ooblets
Sep 19, 2022

Ooblets makes a good effort in innovating on the numerous and currently highly popular farm sim genre, creating an interesting mix of genres in the process. The result is a game that doesn't dive deep into any of its elements but presents all of them in a light and dynamic fashion. Even if it's bound to a repetitive cycle of gathering missions in a world that can be adorable to some [players], the title offers a lot of content for the collectionists.

7 / 10.0 - Cursed to Golf
Aug 30, 2022

Cursed to Golf pairs an adorable look with an interesting premise. The idea of a game of golf in various dungeons, which is tense and technical and presents an arduous challenge to be conquered, works well. Roguelike elements, particularly permadeath, add a nice layer of innovation to the classic golf game genre. However, problems such as the lack of variety in the scenarios, the slow pace, the exaggerated difficulty and the highly repetitive nature of the game will likely turn away most players curious about the title.

6 / 10.0 - Bugsnax
May 4, 2022

Bugsnax is no doubt a unique, charming game. Some people will definitely feel enchanted by the little creatures, who repeat their own names nonstop Pokémon-style, will be able to ignore a good portion of the repetition, unnecessary bureaucracy and technical issues. However, it's easier to bet on most people liking the good premise for a couple of hours before parting for a more interesting title on Switch.

7 / 10.0 - Revita
Apr 21, 2022

Revita is a competent title, with pleasant audiovisual qualities and a huge potential for fans of roguelikes and/or twin stick shooters. Unfortunately, small problems in several aspects end up hindering its ability to become a truly unmissable title among several indies with similar proposals. Players willing to accept the somewhat truncated pacing of the gameplay, as well as combat not as refined as it could be, will probably be able to have a lot of fun in this roguelike with a good premise and an accessible difficulty level.

6 / 10.0 - Imp Of The Sun
Apr 6, 2022

Imp of the Sun is an average adventure with some good ideas and some bad executions, which unfortunately puts the title alongside a number of other less memorable indies on Switch. Although the visual part and the soundtrack manage to please most of the time, problems with the polish of the title's gameplay end up ruining much of its potential. As a metroidvania, the game also fails to present a creative and truly interactive setting in conjunction with the character's abilities. The tribute to Peruvian culture is quite valid, but Imp of the Sun doesn't really know how to take advantage of its premise.

5 / 10.0 - Rune Factory 5
Mar 22, 2022

Rune Factory 5 manages to deliver a lot of content, offering a barrage of classic elements, but delivering them along with a collection of mistakes and oversights. Performance issues, structural game design flaws and lack of politeness end up ruining the potential of this long-awaited continuation of the classic franchise.

Feb 23, 2022

It's hard to recommend River City Girls Zero to anyone who enjoyed the 2019 game, as the prequel has very little in common with the more dynamic, modern formula of its sequel. It would have been great to see Shin Nekketsu Kōha: Kunio-tachi no Banka remade in the River City Girls engine and offered alongside the original game in a revamped version with everything that is entitled, but the truth is that we will have to wait for River City Girls 2 to relive an experience similar to the first game. As it stands, the re-release is a good choice only for enthusiasts of old games, re-releases and assiduous fans of the franchise.

9 / 10.0 - OlliOlli World
Feb 7, 2022

OlliOlli World is not the perfect game, but it delivers what it proposes in an almost impeccable way. There are those who will find some parts too difficult or that the gameplay is repetitive, however the title is ready to welcome almost any type of player, allowing a relaxed and customizable experience, as well as delivering a series of tense challenges for the most fearless. With a beautiful aesthetic, fantastic soundtrack and top-notch gameplay, it's easy to recommend this adventure. Whether you enjoy skateboarding, runner-style platforming, or just want to relax in style on Switch, keep in mind that the colorful and extreme world of OlliOlli is always at your disposal.

3.5 / 10.0 - Dungeon Munchies
Jan 1, 2022

Dungeon Munchies looks like a demo of itself or at least a hollow shell of a project that stopped trying before it started. Not all unique indies hit the mark at first but this title seems to get almost everything wrong. There are many similar games on the Nintendo Switch that are much more fun and interesting. Stay away and move on.
