Melon Journey: Bittersweet Memories stands out by presenting a really fun and lighthearted story, offering mystery, crimes and other serious issues with critical humor. Its graphics and soundtrack are special highlights, as they represent what a game from the nostalgic Game Boy would be with [high] fidelity. The absence of Portuguese text is an issue since the adventure is focused on reading but it doesn't diminish the shine of a pleasant and compelling game.

9 / 10.0 - Cassette Beasts
Apr 26, 2023

Cassette Beasts is clearly inspired by Pokémon and takes advantage of a popular concept to create something unique. Its combat system combining interactions between types, fusions and point consumption, along with its fun and sinister story, makes it a unique game and much deeper than it initially appears. Its problems can be fixed in the future, especially those related to movement. Therefore, it is impossible not to recommend the title, especially for fans of pocket monsters.

7.5 / 10.0 - Mr. Sun's Hatbox
May 2, 2023

Mr. Sun’s Hatbox takes advantage of good humor to give life to a structure that tends to be repetitive. The wide variety of items and particularities, in addition to making each game unique, amuse and create unusual situations that make it an excellent title. Despite the minor issues, it's a game worth keeping an eye on.

5.5 / 10.0 - Arto
May 2, 2023

Arto even has good qualities, but it will hardly be a hack and slash that will stand out in the market. The mixture of artistic styles and the good use of colors calls attention for its quality and diversity, as well as its combat, which, even though it is simple, offers a good variety of movements. Its problems, however, weigh significantly, since they directly interfere with combat and exploration, things that you will do practically at all times.

7 / 10.0 - Death or Treat
May 23, 2023

Death or Treat delivers the basics of the roguelike genre well done to a certain extent, but doesn't dare to offer something innovative. However, the experience is positive, especially for players who are not used to the genre. Combat is easy to master, but a little tedious over time. But the title manages to captivate due to its excellent art direction and fluid movement of its protagonist.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 is a unique experience. With outstanding characters, gorgeous art and a well-developed story, Melodies of Steel 2 is enticing and charming in a way I've rarely seen in games. The combat is also a magnificent experience that delivers intensity and emotion every turn. The adventure of Malt and his friends is more than recommended for fans of excellent narratives and RPGs with many strategic elements.

8 / 10.0 - Bread & Fred
Jun 13, 2023

Bread & Fred is an excellent option for those who like to play with someone at their side. The penguins' adventure is full of charisma, tension and frustration but it offers some hours of fun and arguing among players. The title also adapts itself to diverse situations, having a singleplayer mode and accessibility options that make it more pleasant to casual players.

7.5 / 10.0 - Kingdom Eighties
Jun 28, 2023

Kingdom Eighties excels at combining its gameplay with a beautiful world based in the 80s. Even if it gets repetitive and has some problems, the gameplay manages to deliver a good dose of strategy and entertain for a while. The highlight is its setting, with pixel art graphics, beautiful scenery, an engaging soundtrack and several references to pop culture that will certainly please the most nostalgic.

Valthirian Arc: Hero School Story 2 manages to present two opposite sides when it comes to quality. On the administration side, the title has a good challenge and diverse possibilities to manage and plan the studies of the future heroes. On the RPG one, it fails to present any attractive content, delivering tedious and monotone moments. Despite its qualities, it's hard to recommend it due to how many hours it takes to explore its bland scenery and to overcome the repetitive battles.

VanillaBeast: Retro Knock-Out! aims to deliver a complete retro experience and I can say that Vanilla Gaming Company managed to deliver what they wanted. Its charming graphics are very reminiscent of old games, as well as its high difficulty, which can also be a factor that puts some players off. Its history and collectibles leave something to be desired, as they do not deliver interesting content and could be better worked on. But ignoring that, it's possible to have a lot of fun—and frustration—with boxing matches.

7 / 10.0 - Sticky Business
Jul 28, 2023

Sticky Business is perhaps the most basic management game I've had the opportunity to try, but that doesn't take away from its qualities in delivering a pleasant experience to players. I believe that its target audience is casual players, who are looking for an activity to pass the time and relax, or even children, as the sticker creation tool is an excellent option to stir the imagination of the youngest.

8.5 / 10.0 - Ember Knights
Aug 1, 2023

Though it's not innovative, Ember Knights impressively does the basic of the genre well. The big amount of elements to add variation to the combat allow players to elaborate various combat strategies and allows the game to avoid being too repetitive. However, this [repetitive] feeling still persists due to the small variety of rooms in each world and the difficulty peak at the end of the game. Despite that, Ember Knights delivers a really fun and challenging adventure, making it a recommendation for those looking for a new roguelite option.

7 / 10.0 - Adore
Aug 14, 2023

Adore offers good tools for players interested in monster catching and team management games. The good variety of monsters with unique skills and the essence system allow each player to develop the most varied combat strategies and adapt to different missions. However, the repetitive scenarios leave something to be desired and can bother those who like to spend time collecting items and exploring every corner of the map. Even though it's a little repetitive, this title has a lot of personality and is worth recommending.

Ninja or Die: Shadow of the Sun uses an uncommon mechanic to create a unique action platformer. However, some exploration moments are frustrating for requiring precision in short platforms and areas with excessive elements causing visual pollution. The combat, on the other hand, is fast and fun, creating many intense moments. For those looking for something different within the roguelite genre, it's worth the recommendation.

8 / 10.0 - Affogato
Aug 25, 2023

Affogato subverts the tower defense genre and combines it with elements of management and social interaction to create a unique adventure. Despite some mechanics being underused, the game is a tough, strategic, and fun adventure that is sure to please fans of the genre. Maybe it's not the best option for beginners, but it's worth recommending to anyone looking for a good strategy game.

6.5 / 10.0 - WrestleQuest
Sep 12, 2023

In the end, I believe the balance is positive, especially due to the characters' charisma and the diverse customization elements for the combat. If there's an update fixing the issues, it's a definite recommendation.

8.5 / 10.0 - Summum Aeterna
Sep 13, 2023

Summum Aeterna doesn't revolutionize but it offers plenty of tools to amenize the usual issues of the roguelite games. The Aeternum Game Studios made an effort to add many elements that reduce the feeling of repetition and the limited design of the stages and managed to accomplish their mission. The combat is fast and pleasant and the high amount of upgrades and skills at the players' disposal help make each match unique. This way, it's worth a recommendation for all kinds of players, from the ones who are very invested in roguelites to those who aren't so intimate with the genre.

8 / 10.0 - Wandering Sword
Sep 20, 2023

Wandering Sword draws attention due to its beautiful audiovisual elements and its challenging combat. Its 2D HD graphics and soundtrack are spectacular, creating a unique setting for this adventure inspired by Chinese culture. The different styles of martial arts create a varied, dynamic combat that hardly falls into the same, although the grid structure doesn't help much. For the most enthusiastic, changing the turn-based system to real time is a feature that will certainly please. If you have good knowledge of English, we recommend a fun and captivating RPG.

9 / 10.0 - Moonstone Island
Sep 23, 2023

Before I started playing it, one of my fears with Moonstone Island was that it would be just another game inspired by Stardew Valley. However, Studio Supersoft's title is an excellent example of how to build on popular games and still create something unique and striking. The procedural generation of islands ensures that each adventure is unique and the various construction, management, relationship, battle and exploration mechanics help you develop an adventure the way you want. Despite some small problems, it is a more than right recommendation for players who want to enjoy a great life simulator.

Ion Fury: Aftershock brings a generous amount of content to Voidpoint's boomer shooter, assuaging some of the issues of the base game and keeping all of its virtues. The new stages, weapons, and enemies bring a breath of fresh air while keeping the nostalgic structure intact and more pleasant. Even if some small issues persist, Aftershock is an expansion recommended to fans of the genre.
