Demon's Souls (2020) Reviews
Demon’s Souls hasn’t become any more approachable over time. The series started on a high note, and that note is still being held over 11 years later, with the help of Bluepoint.
Demon’s Souls is everything I hoped, and a bit more. Combat is still precise, challenging and rewarding, and the world is as beautiful as it is bleak. With its new coat of paint and notable improvements to the game’s quality of life, this is without a doubt an ultimate Souls experience. It is mandatory for players who went through the original experience, as well as for those who passed it by. It’s a true next gen game, and a phenomenal start for the PlayStation 5!

Demon’s Souls is a testament to how maybe old dogs don’t necessarily need to learn new tricks to win best-in-show, but rather how a little grooming can go a long way
Demon's Souls is still one of the best games in the entire SoulsBorne franchise. The gameplay, weapons, bosses, music, and story capture everything that makes Demon's Souls, Demon's Souls. A classic that no one should pass up!
The remake of Demon's Souls can now enter the "pantheon" of the greatest remakes in the history of the medium. It offers a genuine, hardcore experience that respects the original creation, without seriously harming the trunk and character of Miyazaki's masterpiece.

This game was the original reason I wanted a PlayStation 5 and it was well worth it.
The Demon’s Souls Remake is the most technically impressive Souls game to date. It is superior to the original, but at its core, it is the same game. The game offers the same core gameplay-loop you know and love, set in a fantastic world and atmosphere.
In short, Demon's Souls is sensational for an originally PS3 game. Bluepoint Games has done an excellent job at adapting it to modern standards, and while some aspects still could've been improved, it is a must buy for fans of the Souls genre.

Demon’s Souls absolutely deserved its new lease on life, and yeah it’s the same game it was, but prettier. But the drawback of a faithful remake is that the sins of the past remain.
Overall, Demon’s Souls is a nostalgic trip down memory lane for those who played the original game. A beautiful nostalgic trip with enhanced graphics and quality of life features. If you’ve been itching to get into a soulsborne game, then this is definitely worth playing for. I just wished they added new story elements or even changed some so that it feels new for those who have already played the game before. For anyone new to the genre, this is definitely one good game to get into. With seamless controls, enhanced graphics to keep up with the times, and just an enjoyable treat altogether. A very welcoming addition to the series.
Demon's Souls is an amazing game to show off that the PS5 is a graphical powerhouse. The mechanics from the original are intact, just like the grim and mysterious atmosphere. This might be the best launch game on the PlayStation 5.

The iconic Souslike gameplay as never felt - or looked - better in Bluepoint's stunning remake of the FromSoftware classic.
The Demon’s Souls remake on PlayStation 5 is nearly precisely the same experience as the 2009 PlayStation 3 unique.
Demon's Souls Remake is a showcase of the Ps5 power and an affirmation of Bluepoint's talent, we are witnessing a real Next Gen game, a game that's definitely worth getting the new Sony's console for.

Giving the right value to a remake of this type is not easy, especially when it comes to a masterpiece like Demon's Souls.

The Demon's Souls remake may flip perspectives on the Souls series once you've finished it. Instead of being a game that's tough to go back to, its polish and refinement will make it hard to return to Lordran or Drangleic even if another game still ranks higher than Demon's Souls. Completing the first playthrough is really just the start of Demon's Souls, and with more replayability than ever before, it's going to keep people dancing between the Archstones for a long time.
Demon’s Souls is now officially the new standard when it comes to game remakes. If any developer or publisher is interested in recreating a magical experience on a new generation of hardware, whether it be on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, then they need to look no further than Demon’s Souls.
Bluepoint have further cemented themselves as the master of video game remakes with how well they’ve handled this ground up remake of Demon’s Souls. FromSoftware games are certainly not games everyone will enjoy, as they certainly come with immense challenge. But for those that enjoy great world building, incredible creature design and strategically analysing enemy attack patterns during combat, you’re going to have a blast. Bluepoint have done more than just remake an existing game, they’ve brought a classic game into the modern era and at the same time created a title that showcases the capabilities of ‘next-gen’.
Demon’s Souls offers a functional replication of the PS3 game classic, featuring more improvements than downgrades.
