Rip Them Off Reviews
Overall, Rip Them Off is a pretty unique take on the tower defense genre. While there aren't a ton of maps, there's plenty of room to revisit them to try to improve your scores. Further, the later maps are incredibly difficult, so you'll probably be playing them for a while. Thankfully, the game accounts for these factors and provides an effective way to tinker with your setups. If you want a game that's easy to pick up, yet hard to master, Rip Them Off is well worth your time.
All things considered, Rip Them Off is a good, unique tower defense game with a comically cynical viewpoint. It has a limited number of levels, but it is also not very expensive, making it an ironically good deal considering the subject matter.
There is no reason why anyone would ever play this on any console. Even if it were played on its intended platform, Rip Them Off is barely a game. It is a strategy based, tower-defence where there is no strategy, as it revolves around failing to understand the conditions. No con-artist would ever accept failure, and yet this insists that gamers should learn to enjoy losing.
Even though the aesthetic, soundtrack, and intelligent dialogue create a package that looks outstanding, Rip Them Off fails to come together in its puzzle gameplay. While utilizing trial-and-error can have its merits, Rip Them Off's method of having the player learn a mathematic language that it then changes constantly just doesn't make for a fun gameplay loop. Lacking hard solutions and ramping up difficulty before you've been properly taught makes Rip Them Off a puzzle title that is hard to recommend.
There's something to be said for venturing into uncharted territory when making games, but the results may not always be what you were hoping for...
Rip Them Off is first and foremost a difficult puzzle game with leanings to the tower defense genre. A healthy mix, which can also, however, break every nerve. The game is a successful satire of the society we are heading to become, but at the same time it also shows what important decisions I have to make as part of a profit-and-earning ecosystem.

Unfortunately, the difficulty and not grasping it fully means I probably won’t be touching this game again. However, I’m sure there are people that will get it and will enjoy it, I’m just not one of them.
