Pecaminosa is a perfect little game to spend a weekend with. It won’t challenge you, it doesn’t last long, and the atmosphere is enough to warrant a look from any noir fan. I can’t help but feel like you might be better off playing it on steam, but you’d still have pages of exhausting dialogue to sit through. I suppose that’s all really subjective, but Pecaminosa misses the mark more than it hits for my money.

Pecaminosa does have a lot to offer; a rich world and an interesting cast of characters. Sadly the stale gameplay can hold it back at times.

With that, I'll quote Pecaminosa's fitting description on Steam and tell you to "grab your gun, hit the streets and do what you do best: investigate and interact with the scum."

I loved playing this game! From the story to the mechanics, everything was set up perfectly to keep you asking for more. You can purchase the game to play today for $14.99 on any of the systems mentioned above.

Since forever I've been a pretty big fan of noir-style stories, whether they be literary, in movies, or in games...

Pecaminosa is a pixel noir adventure. I played as an ex-cop with a dream for revenge. I navigated an interconnected world, met an interesting cast of characters, and enjoyed a wonderful jazz soundtrack all throughout. Is this adventure one worth going on? Find out in this Rapid Review.

Pecaminosa isn’t the best action-RPG you’ll play, but it is one that certainly feels unique thanks to its slick setting and intriguing narrative. The levelling system and gunplay are neat too, though it can feel a bit sluggish in other elements of its design – especially when it comes to hand-to-hand combat or some of the repetitive objectives. Still, I enjoyed my time with the game and was kept invested right until the very end. Whilst it’s a long way from perfect, Pecaminosa is certainly worth a look if you like action-RPGs that take a different approach to the norm.

Pecaminosa – A Pixel Noir Game hits all the right notes in both the pixel-art style and noir genre. It has fun fights, challenging bosses, interesting art, and even some entertaining mini-games to break the routine. It’s easy to recommend but difficult to master; expect more action and less mystery with this police action RPG. If you want something that feels new yet simultaneously possesses retro vibes, take a deep, long draft of Pecaminosa – A Pixel Noir Game.

Pecaminosa - A Pixel Noir Game brings an enticing adventure shrouded in various detective movie clichés. The ambiance and soundtrack involve you in an inexplicable way in the small world of this dark and corrupt city, and the gameplay, while not the most interesting and elaborate, doesn't compromise fun and immersion. The dialogues are the icing on the cake of a work that delivers such interesting story and characters that make you want to explore every dimly lit alley in the city.

Pecaminosa is a noir-style game with a story that captures from beginning to end despite some twists and turns, mixing numerous genres such as RPG, twin stick shooter or narrative novel. The truth is, it fails to stand out in any of them, leaving a rather unfortunate finish, this followed by a soundtrack of the lot and a technical section that is conspicuous by its absence. It makes me unable to recommend this title, which with a stronger result would be a memorable title.

A pixel art film-noir RPG sounds like a golden idea but Pecaminosa’s execution leaves a lot to be desired. The pacing is uneven and the quasi-fantasy parts are out of nowhere but the boss fights are fun and have 8 & 16-bit era vibes.
