A whole new game mode, thirty new cards for your collection, a brand-new board, and the chance to school some of the Scourge’s most infamous champions – all this and more awaits in Curse of Naxxramas! Curse of Naxxramas is a single-player PVE adventure integrated within Hearthstone. In Curse of Naxxramas, you face off against powerful bosses as you battle your way through the dread necropolis and its hordes of undead fiends. You will encounter villains such as the wily warlock Heigan the Unclean, the vile abomination Thaddius, and none other than the master of Naxxramas himself, the lich Kel’Thuzad. It’ll be a challenge, but if you outwit these fearsome foes you will reap the awesome rewards of the undead stronghold.

Overall, The Curse of Naxxramas seems well worth owning, then. The solo content has its ups and downs, but it is most often fun, and also offers some welcome environmental refreshment. Things like a new game board, new music, new enemy emotes and all the trappings of Blizzard's typically lavish production values might sound trivial to some, but for those of us who have spent hundreds of hours playing Hearthstone already they are as much a part of the experience as anything else, and that shouldn't be overlooked. As for the new cards, the cunning behind many of them is likely to echo throughout the seasons, even though not all of them are showing up in regular play at the moment. And if you're anything like me, you won't want to be without them.

A much-needed and fun refresher for Blizzard's card battler, although the next card expansion will need to be more sizeable.

Hearthstone: Curse of Naxxramas isn't too exciting for expert players, as they'll likely breeze past the content, but as a delivery system for cards, it's novel --  not to mention that all the same cards are given to every person. The bottom line is I'd love to see more add-ons like this in the future, and hope Blizzard supports Hearthstone for years to come. However you look at it, bare-bones or not, Naxx is a great start.
