Sadly connection issues can still plague the game at times, but at the very least things are now balanced out if you drop during a match. While I still have my concerns, Splatoon 3 still has that frustratingly addictive gameplay that we all know and love, just stick to one title per platform from now on.

Splatoon 3 is the most refined game in the franchise and it improves upon almost all of the shortcomings that its predecessors had.

Splatoon 3 brings improvements to the experience that were still pending in the previous game. Along with this, it brings us some new weapons and character customization features, adding a new card game experience. Not forgetting the fabulous campaign mode that brings together everything that was good about the other entries in the franchise. Even though the game looks like a major upgrade from Splatoon 2, I don't think it's a reason not to buy it, especially if you're looking to play competitively.

Splatoon 3 lives up to its hype, although I was disappointed by the boss fights in the campaign. These were crisper and more challenging in the predecessors. Nevertheless, the color shooter is a really good video game. There is a lot to discover, not too much backtracking and actually everything that gamers have wished for. The third part of the series is suitable for veterans and newcomers alike, and Nintendo has incorporated important improvements in many places. Only the unstable matchmaking is extremely annoying. I also wonder how you can still have such problems in 2022 that so many games simply break off. Why hasn't Nintendo learned anything with Splatoon 1 and 2 and Mario Kart and makes the same mistakes again with every multiplay release? You don't know, but Splatoon 3 is so much fun that you only get annoyed for a short time, restart the console if necessary, and then immediately log back in for the next match. The innovation in Splatfest has not occurred to me personally. Instead of two teams, three teams now fight each other from time to time. So you don't always end up in three-team fights, but rather rarely and with patch 1.1.1 even less likely. So why was such an innovation introduced at all, if I as a player hardly ever get to see it? Even at the world premiere before the release, I had just three such fights in six hours. All in all, Splatoon 3 is a must-buy for Switch players and a AAA title that is worth the money.

Splatoon 3 represents a step forward in the series. It takes everything that made the previous two games memorable and delivers it in slicker, more fluid and more dynamic ways. It also opens more possibilities for solo gaming while maintaining the rich and lively online experience. Truly the best treatment the Splatoon series could get, its third chapter is another landmark in the Nintendo Switch catalogue.

Splatoon 3 is as fun as the last two games. The game got some quality of life changes which makes it a little better than the last one. The story mode is incredibly fun and every level is new and different. Nintendo has another gem on their hands with Splatoon 3.

Splatoon has managed to prove itself to be one of Nintendo's key franchises. Only Nintendo could pull off a non-violent, extremely addictive and fun shooter for the whole family, and Splatoon 3 is the best the series has had to offer so far.

Splatoon 3 builds on a successful formula with some new features, weapons, maps and modes, but doesn't stray too far from what made the previous games so fun and interesting. With Splatoon 3 being the first new Splatoon game in five years, the franchise follows the lead of other shooter franchises by making only minor tweaks to its gameplay and experiences, mostly through the addition of a few new weapons and maps and by addressing some user experience complaints fans had about Splatoon 2. As players progress through Splatoon 3, it's clear that the game is simply bigger and better than its predecessor with more for players to enjoy without feeling too overwhelming.

In online terms it is above all the consistency that prevails, and although many modes and game options are recovered there is a good variety of media at your disposal, with adjustments and new weapons that make battles even more chaotic. Splatoon 3 does not surf the giant wave of novelties, but consolidates the online and produces a very challenging and exciting "single player" campaign. Other modes will be added in time, so we'll also be keeping an eye on these upcoming additions.

Splatoon 3 perfects the Splatoon formula with a generation-defining experience from Nintendo. The multiplayer is deeper and more intuitive than ever before, whilst the campaign soars above its predecessors for its creativity and challenge. Gloriously flashy in its presentation and audio, Splatoon 3 stays fresh from its tutorial to the credits roll, and far beyond.

Even if I need a bit to wipe the rust off, I know I can fall back and make sure to cover all the spots the sickos left open by the home base and help bring in the wins. And there’s no disgusting wartime propaganda blaring at me on loading screens.

On the whole, Splatoon 3 is a family-friendly shooter that’s bright, dynamic, and well-polished. Depending on your experience, communication errors and lobby wait times can hold things back, but regular events to bring the community together, as well as the desire to dominate the leaderboard is likely to keep me coming back for more ink-fuelled anarchy for some time to come.

Splatoon 3 improves a lot of the little nooks and cranies from the latest installment in the series. Its campaign and gunplay is better than ever, but at the same time it doesn't feel as fleshed out as it should, but even if is more Splatoon, that is pretty good in a way.

Overall, Splatoon 3’s single-player and tabletop modes are refreshing, but the multiplayer modes and equipment play things super safe. There is a bucket load of enjoyable tweaks to the game, and Splatoon 3 is undoubtedly the most accessible and entertaining entry so far, but issues dating back to the original Wii U version (like voice chat and the stability of the online experience) are yet to be addressed, and after 7 years, it’s starting to wear thin. But despite the negatives, Splatoon 3 is a fresh coat of paint on a tried-and-tested formula and a perfect starting point for those looking to squid-jump into the series.

Apparently, it’s a great year to be the third entry in a Nintendo series. After five years since the mega-successful sequel to Splatoon began taking turf on the Nintendo Switch’s modest catalog of shooters and online multiplayer games, the funky fresh post-apocalyptic marine life is back to cover more ground across the world. Splatoon 3 adds more than just another coat of graphical paint to its beloved formula as Inklings and Octolings come together for yet another wonderfully competitive and creative outing of fast-footed ink wars.

Splatoon 3 is easily the best title in the series now. With a brand new array of weapons, a dedicated and bigger hub world for multiplayer, and a lively community. It’s a game where you will feel the 3-minute matches feel like full-length matches in other games. This is easily one of the best games you can play with friends or even by yourself. Splatoon 3 takes the series to a new high and shows us that Nintendo still has the magic of making lightning in a bottle.
