Little Noah: Scion of Paradise Reviews
Little Noah is a game that we can easily recommend, but with the caveat that it's not really special in any way. The quality of the combat and the design of the progression systems make it clear that the developers are big fans of roguelites and understand what makes them alluring, but Little Noah is rather light on its own ideas. Sometimes that's enough; not every game needs to reinvent the wheel, and Little Noah certainly feels like it deserves credit for how effectively it delivers on the roguelite formula. This may not be a game to rush out and buy right away, then, but keep an eye on this one and have it in mind when you feel like snapping up another roguelite. If you're after a solid 'one of those', it's well worth your time and money.
Cygames' roguelite action romp offers a compelling take on the genre, that's perfect for beginners to grit their teeth on.
We can certainly see ourselves going back to Little Noah: Scion of Paradise time and again. Its gameplay is simple but engaging, helped along by pleasant and colourful visuals. You’ll quickly care about Noah and her sidekick Zipper, and even when you die you’ll be raring to go again: this is a game that nails the ‘just one more try’ aspect that’s the driving force of any successful roguelike adventure. Little Noah deserves more attention, and with such a low asking price, there’s no reason not to dive straight in.
If you enjoy 2D gameplay then the clever Roguevania setup of Little Noah: Scion of Paradise will keep you hooked for hours upon hours.
Little Noah is the kind of surprise you always hope for. I had no idea what to expect going into this but it's ended up being one of the best roguelikes I've played in years. The gameplay is simply wonderful and the adorable graphics are a nice change of pace. I do question the game's longevity as there's not a whole lot of endgame content, so I am hoping for DLC or new modes down the road.
Little Noah is a blast, thanks to its depth, variety, and dangerously wholesome vibes.
Little Noah: Scion of Paradise is a charismatic roguelite with unique ideas. The combat is enticing with its fast-paced action and the system that allows players to combine attacks and spells for combos — a part of the fun is exploring the various possibilities and combinations. Besides that, there are many options to unlock and its colorful atmosphere exudes charisma. The simplicity of the concepts makes it clear that the experience is more casual, though there are options for players who are fond of more intense challenges. Even so, some issues get in the way on the long run, such as its basic level design and limited content variety. The expectation is that these negative points are fixed in the future. Overall, Little Noah: Scion of Paradise is a light and fun experience. It's nothing as elaborate as other roguelites but it executes well everything it sets out to do.
