Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes Definitive Edition isn't the ambitious remake, but it does enough to warrant a playthrough.
The biggest worry I had about this game, as I related in my initial preview, was that this is a bit of a wisp of a thing. Fortunately, looking at the price compared to what is actually on display here… I don’t think that’s actually a problem. Yes, it’s a light thing, but it’s not being priced as a high-end experience. It’s asking you to drop a little money on a game where you can do some fun puzzle gameplay within an RPG framework. That’s exactly what it delivers, and for that I think it’s definitely worth a look. If you enjoy a bit of RPG and strategy in a game and enjoy yourself a match-three game, you will be well-served by Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes. I can’t tell you how well it stacks up compared to the DS version, maybe, but now it’s available on more modern devices and it’s still fun. What more could you ask for?

However, overly random elements mar the player's sense of agency within these battles, greatly diminishing the thrill of victory and leaving them wondering if each defeat was truly deserved.

La campagne est toujours aussi excellente alors que la jouabilité propose un défi assez relevé même pour les habitués du genre. Le multijoueur de son côté est très équilibré et il encourage les joueurs à monter les échelons. Sur Nintendo Switch c’est presque parfait, même si j’ai été surpris de constater que cette version n’est pas commercialisée sur console de nouvelle génération. Néanmoins, j’espère qu’avec les portages des dernières années et maintenant cette édition définitive qu’Ubisoft (qui détient les droits de la licence) offre la chance à un studio de créer une suite à cette aventure.

Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes Definitive Edition is pretty much everything you want in a Definitive Edition and more. The team reworked multiple things in the game and provided refreshes of characters. They took the time to rebalance multiplayer by banning certain artifacts. The visuals, animations, and graphics seem leagues better than the previous game. I wish I could have gotten into some online multiplayer, but even without that, you can see how much work they put into improving different aspects. Battles are always great with multiple depths of strategy that always provides unique experience. I would of like to see 1 or 2 more modes, especially having the campaign "Battle Puzzles" in a separate mode.
