Norn9: Last Era Reviews
Norn9: Last Era is a surprisingly strong otome fandisk outing despite its flaws.
Norn9: Last Era is a fine game for fans of the franchise as well as newcomers thanks to some great voice acting, great characters and beautifull music. The prelude is a bit long though, which might scare some people of.

Norn9: Last Era is a fandisk that nicely expands on the narrative. Still, if you did not enjoy Norn9: Var Commons, then you’ll find it very hard to enjoy Last Era, and it becomes clear that the targeted audience for this title is clearly those who have already consumed Norn9 in some form of medium, be it the previous game or the anime. Some of the systems in the Western release also share the same issues, such as the awkward text lines, which diminish the experience a bit. Furthermore, half of the content that’s available just isn’t up to snuff when compared to other fandisk releases from Idea Factory.
Visual Novel not suitable for beginners in the genre, but with a story that ends up hooking you behind the main thing you are looking for: the romance with your favorite protagonist.

Norn9 Last Era is packed with a prequel, an alternate viewpoint of the original game, a sequel, and an omake, but retains some of the original game's issues.
I will come out with it right away: Norn9: Last Era is a good game. The game really balances between being a fan disk and a sequel to Norn9: Var Commons. I enjoyed the Norn9: Last Era. I enjoyed the mix between the couples being lovey-dovey and actually facing some issues so that it doesn’t get too sappy. If you loved Norn9: Var Commons you definitely must pick this game up as well.
With all the positive points of Var Commons intact, Norn9: Last Era is a package that's very rich in content, bringing explanations and perspectives that were not explored in the base game. Unfortunately, some CGs were reused on the fandisk and some parts of the narrative are more padded than they should but, for fans of visual novels, the second trip onboard the Norn is quite worth it.
