Enshrouded Reviews
Enshrouded’s mix of Valheim-style survival and Breath of the Wild-style exploration make a wonderful pairing, but it still has slew of Early Access kinks to work out.
Best-in-class building and a lovely atmosphere war against technical difficulties and an uninspiring premise for this early access survival crafting game.
Even though it may not offer anything groundbreaking, you'll likely enjoy Enshrouded if you're a fan of survival games.
An expansive world, well-written lore, and decent base-building provide an enjoyable survival game alternative.
For being in early access, Enshrouded is already phenomenal. What I like most about Enshrouded is it cleverly creates a satisfying gameplay loop out of bouncing players between building and questing, it features a beautiful blend of hand-combed survival crafting tropes and RPG mechanics, and the open world is a massive playground riddled with Shrouds, secrets, and scenic views. Especially with friends, you'll enjoy your time and find what you're looking for in Enshrouded.
Despite being in early access, Enshrouded shows incredible promise, and while it would be easy to write off the game as a Valheim clone, it's actually much more than that. The game has a noticeable difficulty spike, but it disappears as soon as someone joins you. The world of Embervale is simply breathtaking and perfectly combines hyperrealism and whimsical fantasy. Even the most dangerous parts of the game are pleasing to the eye, and the game itself is simply incredible.
Enshrouded is an ambitious open-world survival game. Its large world and freedom make it fun to explore. It has cool features like voxel building that work really well. But too much repetitive travel and dull combat can be frustrating, which doesn't match its great overall design.

Despite Enshrouded being an Early Access title, it shows incredible promise; while it would be easy to write the game off as a Valheim clone, it is so much more than that. The game has a notable difficulty spike, but this goes away once someone joins you. The world of Embervale is simply breathtaking and perfectly mixes hyper-realism with the whimsical fantasy. Even some of the game’s most dangerous parts are just a joy to watch, and the game is just incredible.
Enshrouded is a fantastic game with plenty to offer, no matter what your combat or crafting style is. If you're looking for a new co-op game, make it this one.
Enshrouded is one of the greater Early Access games to release, with how much there is to do and see. The story might not be as linear as you’d expect at first, but everything slowly unfolds and becomes clear as you explore Embervale, and that’s also what drives the plot forward. You’re not just trying to survive; there’s a driving force through the story that gets better as you go, and the same can be said for the crafting side, as well as, this also expands as you progress. Enshrouded might not be as hyped as it could be, but it is definitely a must-play for gamers who like a good survival game.
Enshrouded stands as a masterful blend of survival, crafting, and action RPG elements. Its immersive world, challenging gameplay, and cooperative features make it a beacon in the realm of voxel-based adventures. As Flameborn, players’ epic journey to reclaim the lost beauty of Embervale is an experience not to be missed.
Enshrouded is par for the course with most survival games released in early access. There are promising foundations and underwhelming systems in equal measure, but it gets key things right in the form of an engaging build system, a sense of adventure in exploration, and some great quality of life features. Probably more fun in co-op with friends, there’s enough here for most survival veterans to enjoy so long as their expectations are suitably adjusted for early access titles.
Enshrouded may only be entering early access, but there is already so much to see and do in the wonderful world of Embervale. Keen Games did not cut any corners when creating this excellent sandbox. Players will surely enjoy it as it evolves during the early access period.
Keen Games has created a great mix of exciting game world, complex building system and flexible skill system. I already know that I will spend hours building completely impractical but colossal castles.
