The cool new moves don't have much of a purpose, and the lack of a map can get one lost. Maybe that's the point, to get lost playing with movement tech while you think your thoughts. If so, they nailed it.
Lil Gator Game: In the Dark continues the adventure of the imaginative little alligator with the same excellence, and the new equipment is just as fun as the originals. However, it would be good to help children find their way around such a large cave, even if it's filled with pretend monsters.

Lil Gator Game: In the Dark is a fantastic addition to the base game. I adore the original, and I even do randomisers of it in my free time. The DLC had a couple of small issues, but it didn’t impact my overall enjoyment of it. I love this game, and I’m so happy it got some DLC. It is well worth the price; there’s lots to do and a bunch of story stuff. The new map is beautiful, the music and sound design are great, and you get to spend even more time with everyone’s favorite lil gator. I cannot begin to tell you all how much Lil Gator Game and In the Dark warms my heart. If you liked the base game, you won’t want to miss the DLC.
In the Dark doesn't reinvent the wheel, nor does it need to. It's another three hours of the same welcoming formula, now with an interesting antagonist and a vertical labyrinth to test your spatial awareness.

I had so much fun playing Lil Gator Game: In The Dark. There is something so relaxing about just picking up the controller and exploring without worrying about fail states and redoing story sections to pass. The new area is massive and is filled with fun new characters to befriend, items to craft that expand and add to different ways to platform through, and a wholesome message that some adults these days can learn from.
A light, charming add-on that strengthens the spirit of the original game and brings back the feeling of childhood adventures driven by imagination. The new movement abilities add energy, making it a short but enjoyable experience.

Lil Gator Game: In The Dark is the definitive and well-crafted ending to a charming, unpretentious adventure, naturally expanding on the themes of its predecessor and fitting perfectly as an epilogue to our little friend's growth. Unique new items, friends with fun tasks, beautiful biomes to explore, and the inherent challenge of getting things done as quickly as possible make this a nostalgic adventure through childhood memories and the freedom of being a child with the inevitability of growing up.

Lil Gator Game: In the Dark features an extremely cathartic conclusion to the story, and shows an impressive growth for the protagonist, especially after all he's been through.
