Dystopicon is a really fun little simulator game. It’s story telling is whacky but interesting. It never feels like you’re sat waiting for the time to pass. The management elements of the game are really well done. I’ve given in the Thumb Culture Silver Award simply because the lack of the pointer really did ruin the experience for me. I’m sure this will be something that is fixed in future updates but for the time being I’ll have to leave it at that.

Dystopicon turns into a genuinely compelling little dystopia. One that earns its comparisons to the classics it's borrowing from. It won't click with everyone right away.

Dystopicon’s portrayal of a collapsing authoritarian and fascist regime comes off as absurd, but the mechanisms within the presentation are far from any jest. It’s freaky and almost terrifying—even its gameplay will convince you, on occasion, to enter the Sarco pod just to get away from the TV once and for all. ∎

DYSTOPICON is a title that successfully captures the essence of its satirical premise with great artistic and mechanical effectiveness, even though it fails to sustain interest in the long run.
