SUPERHOT Reviews
Whether you dive into its meta narrative or rehearse the executions of eight ballroom guards for the sixteenth time, Superhot invents a tactical, first-person shooter genre to call its own. Please, Superhot team, I need more.
SUPERHOT may be a little older than others in your list of recently released games on the PlayStation Store, but for those who have yet to experience it, this title remains a polished gem. The game has a few slight mechanical hiccups, but they pale in comparison to an otherwise solid and unique first-person shooter. DualShockers review of SUPERHOT VR — the PlayStation VR version — will also go live today, July 26, at 12:30 PM Eastern. You can read that review here.
Part strategy game, part first-person shooter, Superhot is the best take on the violent power fantasy seen in years.
A genius shooter close to rivaling legends, sadly cut down by its minuscule running time.
Everything about SUPERHOT just feels right, right down to look of its menus and how everything ties together. Equal parts fast & furious and tense & methodical, SUPERHOT is the perfect antidote to the legions of online-focused twitch shooters flooding the market.
SUPERHOT provides a tremendously innovative deconstruction of the FPS genre. It's easy to be seduced by the simplistic gameplay only to find your hours sucked away by continued play.
There are many words that could be used to describe SUPERHOT. Cool, addictive, stylish, fun, enjoyable…take your pick. What the development team have done is take a game mechanic that sounds like an excellent idea on paper and turned it into something special by fleshing out a game around it that does it justice and then layering on different ways of playing in the post-game. It flat out tells you to say this but we'd be saying it anyway: SUPERHOT is one of the most innovative shooters that we've played in years. Absolutely essential.
The most subversive twist in first-person shooter mechanics, on a par with its minimalistic and powerful visual style, SUPERHOT does not disappoint. Even though the story can be a bit too obtuse at times, the way the game plays out wrap it all up quite nicely, commenting on why we choose first-person shooters so often.
Super Hot is a first person shooter unlike any other. It's very narrative driven, mind blowing, fps similar to games such as Portal or The Stanley Parable. It's quite the mind trip and the time driven game mechanic is actually a lot of fun. Just be prepared to run around saying "Super Hot" in your head for the next few days. It's short but sweet and well worth the trip into this virtual world.
It's as your in-game friend tells you: you've "never seen anything like it."
You may be able to stop time, but we're sure you won't be able to stop playing SUPERHOT.

Superhot is sizzling with style and mixes the first-person shooter and puzzle genres in a way that truly feels innovative.
SUPERHOT is both simple and complex, cold looking yet made with so much love. It is a unique and innovative game. I can't wait to play this in VR, since at it's heart, that platform is where this game belongs. MIND IS SOFTWARE.

If you’re looking for a simple, but smart first-person shooter then SuperHot is definitely for you. I haven’t played such an original FPS in a very long time and I will keep coming back to this game for a while to improve my skills and try new things with the different levels.
One of the most innovative shooters in years is now one of the most innovative shooters on the Switch.
SUPERHOT is one of the most interesting gaming fusions of the decade, and it’s been pulled off spectacularly. It leaves you wanting more, which is exactly what it should do. On Switch, its bite-sized action set-piece puzzles have found their most natural home.
SUPERHOT is a short game, but it's sweet and burns brightly while it's with you. It's inventive, clever, addictive, fun, and yes I'll say it: it's cool.
Idea and execution – for that two things everybody should try SUPERHOT themselves. The only thing I regret is that the campaign makes pretty short experience.
