Critic Reviews for Hitman GO: Definitive Edition
Not particularly difficult, and its mobile roots are showing, but Hitman GO: Definitive Edition is an entertaining puzzle spin-off.
A well-designed and enjoyable puzzler. However, control issues, repetitive music and a lack of tactical freedom mean it's unlikely you'd choose to play this over real Hitman on your console.
A surprisingly successful mobile spin-off becomes an equally enjoyable console download, that twists the key elements of Hitman to its own interesting effect.
Too much trial-and-error plagues the puzzles, which also don't have enough strategy or interesting choices
For a simple experience, with multiple objectives per stage that can't be all completed at once (with a handful of exceptions), so it's good as a short-term distraction. Hitman GO is designed to be a temporary go-to for those times you're stuck in minor delays, like a doctor's appointment when you've arrived early, not the DMV or anything crazy. It'll do the trick, but aside from the lovely visual style, it's a largely forgettable experience. Not a bad one, but "oh yeah, I remember playing this" nostalgia after you've worked through the levels in the few hours it takes to shoot through.
Despite having enjoyed the original game on iPad, for some reason I didn't keep it installed for long. In a weird kind of way, this console adaptation feels just as definitive as its title purports to be without really changing anything. Reflecting on this strange trail of thought, I suspect it has much to do with the presence of an actual game controller and time pressures often associated with playing games on mobile devices. Either way, Hitman GO: Definitive Edition is well worth the plunge, even at its current asking price. Although the cost has been inflated, you'd be hard-pressed to find a puzzle game of this calibre on PSN or Steam for just over a fiver.
A good mix of puzzle and turn-based strategy also recommended to those unfamiliar with the Agent 47. And as they say in these cases: so cheap, so satisfying.

Hitman GO is just as good on PlayStation as it was on iOS and Android, and the updated visuals and amount of content at a great price that the Definitive Edition offers will keep you coming back for more and more.
