Critic Reviews for Space Run Galaxy
Tower defense goes to the stars with Space Run Galaxy, a game that blends tactical thinking, twitch action, and starship trucking.
The graphics put into this game are pretty satisfying for what it is: despite the odd appearance of the ships it felt pretty crisp and enjoyable, although where the game started to lose me is its cringe-worthy dialogue.
Though not significantly difficult from its predecessor and prone to bouts of repetition, Space Run Galaxy remains a wholly refreshing take on the tower defence genre. Indeed, the focus that Space Run Galaxy places on speed and immediacy makes for a furious effort that is as challenging as it is rewarding.
The gameplay really is king when it comes to games like this one but Space Run Galaxy‘s characters are what gives the game its heart, complete with a little interstellar mystery
An interesting real time take on tower defence that is well put together and is always entertaining. The difficulty might be too much for some but it’s never unfair. If you like tower defence and are looking for something unique, you could do far worse than this gem.
Space Run Galaxy isn't a bad game, just a confusing one. The ideas are all there, but the execution of those ideas feels both cumbersome and vapid. Controlling the ship is both simple and ferociously misleading. Enemies treat you like you are in training wheels. For anyone looking to get into the genre, this is a good jumping point, but hardcore fans will probably find this an attempt that will not satiate their long term hunger.
It’s a game that the core gameplay works well, but some of the additions introduced in Space Run Galaxy doesn’t have me sticking around as much as I’d like.
If you have some 20$ laying about, feel free to spend them on Space Run Galaxy, you won’t regret it. Of course, just like every other game in this genre, SRG isn’t immune to feeling repetitive, but it will take many (tens) of hours before that horrible feeling sets in.
