Critic Reviews for Death Road to Canada
And that's why they call it Death Road to Canada. It can be too harsh for its own good, and folks who are tired of roguelikes will struggle to embrace that part of the design, but it's still one of the better road-trip games I've played thanks to its cheerful personality, amusing writing, and all-around charm.
Death Road to Canada is a really enjoyable and successful roguelite. The usual conventions and trappings of the genre are well suited to both the setting and the presentation of the game, and the novel adaptations of the old Oregon Trail conventions add a great layer of strategy and randomness to the mix. Whilst the environments can be a little repetitive and the need for replaying numerous times is potentially offputting, there is so much to discover, and so many different game modes to unlock that it's easy to recommend. While playing this won't necessarily help with an exit strategy for if your country becomes occupied by rabid and dangerous monsters, it's certainly a fun entry in the exponentially growing roguelite scene.
An interesting survival experience with a touch of The Binding of Isaac and the (now) classic retro-pixel style. A good way to enjoy a different type of Apocalypse.

Death Road to Canada is a fun and varied game, thanks to humor, zombie fights, traps and cool action. Random events between stops make the result of each trip unpredictable.

Throw some supplies into a duffle bag, find a map to Canada, and hop in the van folks, because the zombie masses of Death Road to Canada are coming for you, and getting eaten alive was never so much fun.
Having a unique experience every time I play is really cool, even if it's not quite unique enough.
A fiendishly constructed zombie mashing roguelike with a veritable mountain of stuff to do, Death Road to Canada is the hilarious, ever-compelling road trip odyssey you never knew you wanted.
Death Road To Canada allows fans of the zombie genre to live out their ultimate survival fantasies again and again. Technically, there are a limitless amount of scenarios to experience thanks to the compact yet well designed gameplay, but after a while the patterns and outcomes may become a little too predictable for the average player. If you do happen to be a long-time enthusiast of zombies, this may be worth sinking your teeth into.
