While we cannot speak for those who played the original Malicious, this remaster will most likely alienate newcomers.

Malicious Fallen is a decent game for people who enjoy tough boss challenges.
Malicious Fallen is an upgraded version of a game released 7 years ago on PS3. It offers a lot more content and keeps its nervous gameplay, but everything seems a little bit old now.

Malicious Fallen is an aesthetically pleasing action game, flawed by many problems that would have been quite easy to address. Just like its previous chapters it's a title with good potential, unfortunately not exploited, which will be certainly appreciated by fans of the series.

Much like its predecessors, Malicious Fallen is a game with a good idea and less-than-stellar execution. Since it has three times the amount of content when compared to the original and doesn't feel painfully short now, it's easier to accept the idea of a title consisting of nothing but boss fights.
'Malicious' is a fitting name for a game this unforgiving.
Malicious Fallen is often frustrating but it's also capable of providing some incredible highs. Give it a chance, and it might just surprise you.
It's a pity that Sony saw fit to release this in the same week it dropped Horizon on the world. Had it landed in a quieter part of the year, Malicious would have got a lot more notice from the media and the community. It deserves to be noticed too; it's not the greatest 'Monster Hunter' game out there, but it is gorgeous and has a lot of interesting, unique ideas going for it.
Malicious Fallen is a great package as you are effectively getting three very involved games to play with for a very reasonable price. Considering the difficulty as well as the complexity of the game, it's likely you'll be playing Malicious Fallen for a good while.
Overall, Malicious Fallen is a remaster worth investing in. Not owning Rebirth on the Vita, fixing the camera issue of the PS3 version, and improving the frame rate in both versions, I had a better experience and got to explore the chapters I missed out from the saga. It's a great action game that gave me a lot of challenge, which I always ask for. At half the price of your average retail game, I say it's definitely worth it.
