It’s an entertaining and brutal game with some funny moments, like hearing your burly giant slayer mumble about his fingers numbing in the cold weather. I guess even vikings get cold.

Vikings: Wolves of Midgard is a nice and entertaining game but not an innovative one. Narrative is not good and you'll feel disconnected, but the action is violent and cathartic and has a lot to offer. It will remind you of Diablo but it's not as well-crafted as that game. Overall Wolves of Midgard is a good experience but nothing that you'll remember after two years. If you are fan of isometric action-RPGs, then Vikings: Wolves of Midgard is a nice choice to play.

An average action rpg with a good co-op system that falls behind the best in the genre due to its simple combat system and lack of depth in every other aspect.

In the end, Vikings: Wolves of Midgard is good. It retains most of what makes the genre so appealing, and the other changes, like environmental dangers, amplify the formula instead of watering it down. It doesn't move the genre forward, though, and the lack of a custom preset combined with spotty performance on middle-of-the-road hardware will make some people see this as rather unpolished. For those who want something new in the genre, Vikings is worth a shot.

While a little unpolished, Vikings – Wolves of Midgard is over-the-top fun.

Shortcomings aside, hack and slash fiends who are looking for their next fix should definitely check out Vikings: Wolves of Midgard, a genre effort which more than earns its passage into Valhalla.

At the end of the day it is just a cool Diablo alternative that is very tame and safe.

If you are a fan of dungeon crawlers, you will likely find yourself having a good time with Vikings – Wolves of Midgard. Despite its lack of satisfying loot, the game brings forth some really great visuals and some interesting ideas to the dungeon crawler formula.

Brute Action-RPG with cool fighting mechanics and setting, but without a complex character development, endgame or an exciting story.

Game's title speaks for itself. Wolves of Midgard may be rough and uncouth, but it is also a spir-ited, cocky and self-confident like true viking and as fascinating as good ballad told by a silver-tongued scald.

Vikings – Wolves of Midgard takes the formula made popular by the game named after the Spanish word for devil and makes it its own.

It didn’t take long for Vikings to bludgeon those expectations into a meaty, undulating pulp.

A fun and deep RPG that may not reach the top of the genre but it's a solid offer.

Overall, Vikings is an enjoyable game with environments that are destructible enough to be weirdly satisfying and gameplay that’s entertaining enough to carry it (provided you have a gamepad), but it lacks any kind of narrative weight and begins to run out of ideas for varied boss fights toward the end.
