At the end of the day though, this is just blackjack. It may be the most aesthetically pleasing version of blackjack, but that's it. I would recommend skipping the console versions and trying out the mobile versions instead.

There's a cool concept in Super Blackjack Battle II Turbo Edition: The Card Battlers. The idea of making a game by integrating blackjack into a fighting game model seems silly, but the quick nature of the game and the finite amount of time needed to amass a healthy purse add some excitement to the experience. Unfortunately, there's no longevity to the game. The AI battles can be played way too safely to guarantee wins, and there's no online community to scratch the versus itch due to lack of local multiplayer. Super Blackjack Battle is a curiosity, but it's not a title that needs to be in your library unless it's available for cheap or you have a taste for bizarre game concepts.

The only reason for the existence of Super Blackjack Battle II Turbo Edition: The Card Warriors, is that it's a spoof of Street Fighter II… Or at least that's what it thinks it is, because, in reality, it's just simple, ordinary, no extra bells and whistles, no bonus nonsense, no reinvention of the wheel, plain, "good" ol' 21… and that's far from enough.

If you're a fan of blackjack and need to play a blackjack game on PlayStation 4, then this is what you need. But if blackjack is not your thing, of if you're someone who likes to play games online, then you should definitely avoid this one.

The main flaw of Super Blackjack Battle II is that a coat of paint, no matter how well made, can't give depth to an ultimately shallow experience.

I thought Super Blackjack Battle II Turbo Edition - The Card Warriors had the potential to spice things up to add longevity, but sadly it failed to do so. With poor AI and no online play, the only truly redeeming factor are the visuals and superb soundtrack. However that just isn't enough to keep your attention for more than a few hands.

Blackjack is primarily fun when actual money's on the table.

Who would have ever thought we’d see a parody of Super Street Fighter II in blackjack form? The concept works and it’s a fun game, but it’s lacking in the features department and the gameplay becomes stale after several rounds. The ‘90s references and music help prop the game up.

For the most part I’d consider this a novelty title whose biggest draw is its classic SF2-esque presentation. The thing is, it doesn’t take very long to burn out that being interesting, so unless you’re really looking for a one-game gambling title for the Switch there’s likely not much here to explore and enjoy. For serious Blackjack or Street Fighter II fans only, and perhaps even then only if you’re both.
