Crossing Souls may still be a game I revisit when I need to be comforted by the sheer joy of its characters, world, references, and music. Fourattic clearly loves the era as much as many of us do, and it shows. For all its references, the callbacks to different pop culture events never feel forced. Crossing Souls is a helluva fun ride, and a game I'd strongly recommend to anyone with a love of He-Man, coin-op arcades, and bitchin' synth tunes.
Fourattic have given us a wholesome, humble, and most importantly fun video game that you’ll simply adore from start to finish. No doubt about it, Crossing Souls is the indie game to beat in 2018.

Crossing Souls leverages the classics from the 80's while telling a powerful tale of the space between life and death.
When I started, however, I didn’t have initial expectations; it was my interest in its art style that drew me. I still loved everything about it, I still feel connected to the characters I played, the simple storyline, the amazing music, humor, and the shout-outs to 80s pop culture (Guys, I found Master Splinter and the Turtles’ pizza-stacked hideout). In other words, play Crossing Souls just for a good time, but don’t expect something grandiose. It’s simple, quick, but it’s fun.
Crossing Souls is one of the biggest surprises of this year. Intriguing story, amazing setting and addictive mechanics are some of the features that this outstanding game has. Crossing Souls is deeper than it seems and will make us fall in love with its charismatic characters.

Crossing Souls is a delightfully nostalgic romp, balancing original content and nods to the past. Devolver Digital's Crossing Souls isn't afraid to wear its love for the 80's on its sleeve, but thankfully, there's more to the story on top of it. While it isn't without its missteps, using interesting and unique gameplay elements, diverse locations, and well-rounded characters, the arcade adventure game will give both modern and retro gamers something to enjoy.
A really good story and a true love letter to fans of the 80s. It's a great game, which unfortunately ends at some point.

Crossing Souls it's a beautiful pixel art adventure that inspires by and jokes around all the 80s iconography you can imagine, from movies to games. It shines the most through its Pixel Art, its soundtrack and the animated sequences... but at the same time, the gameplay mechanics remains always very simple and has some lows in the central chapters.

Despite relying on the well-established and fashionable 80's pop culture, Crossing Souls is literally good for the soul, and there's much more beyond its simple nostalgic approach. Behind the levity of a by-the-book teen movie, there's a heartfelt and intimate game, extremely polished and deep, with a convincing art direction and a solid gameplay.
