This offbeat and peculiar puzzle game takes a ridiculous concept and manages to shape it into a shockingly deep, balanced, and varied low-key masterpiece. I was looking forward to checking this game out since it was shown off, but I never expected it to be this good. Don't sleep on Sushi Striker, but be mindful that you'll probably really want to eat sushi after playing it for a while.

Sushi Striker is a decent puzzle game with an odd and somewhat charming theme. It’s not for everyone, but if you’re looking for something quick and easy to play on the move, this will definitely fit the bill.

Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido takes a competent puzzle game and adds an interesting enough RPG element to add variety. The Story mode does linger for a little longer in the mouth than you would like, but online play and local multiplayer mean this may be just the game you need to fill 'that' spot in your library.

Sushi Striker wears its 3DS roots on its sleeve, but the core gameplay is addicting and the production values (minus the overworld) are top notch. Though it might appear like a high-end mobile game, this is the full-fledged real deal. If you don't mind dealing with a few pacing issues, this is easy to recommend to anyone who enjoys deep puzzle games.

Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido is a brilliantly bizarre, fast-paced action/puzzler. The battle mechanics are simple to grasp, but have enough depth to make it a challenge to master. The game is also accompanied by a range of quirky characters and an over the top plot… but it also strangely fits into place. Though the gameplay is sometimes repetitive, there is still a sushi boat load of fun to be had over the 150 or so battles.
