Sushi Striker is a decent puzzle game with an odd and somewhat charming theme. It’s not for everyone, but if you’re looking for something quick and easy to play on the move, this will definitely fit the bill.
Despite its engaging story and charming characters, Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido undergoes a significant setback when you take its gameplay and controls into consideration. It has a good amount of flair to appeal to different kinds of players, especially those who are also anime fans. But in the end, it comes down to being just another matching puzzle game with tiresome controls at its core. As a side note, one major impression that could be taken from the game is how delicious sushi can be. Therefore, like Musashi, I am also thinking about trying sushi for the first time.
If you're into insane over-the-top anime storytelling, Sushi Striker is going to be right up your alley. It's up mine, but it almost works better in a straight TV show format than it does as a deep puzzler with RPG elements.
Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido takes a competent puzzle game and adds an interesting enough RPG element to add variety. The Story mode does linger for a little longer in the mouth than you would like, but online play and local multiplayer mean this may be just the game you need to fill 'that' spot in your library.
If you are looking for a charming and damn right silly plot, and you don't mind paying a little more for your puzzle action to have it on the Switch, then I feel you will certainly find a lot to like with Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido and its captivating bizarre world of sushi eating puzzle combat.
With lots of content and some good cutscenes, it's not a groundbreaking game but it's appealing and it could be even more fun if its online multiplayer was not affected by cases of lag.

Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido does not sound like the most conventional of titles but this is not the most conventional of games. Thanks to a combination of a completely unreal and wacky plot, a charming visual environment and a wide amount of content, Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido amounts to a fun and addictive game, which nevertheless overburdens the player with its never ending plot and disappoints with the dearth of online players to face.

Sushi Striker suffers only one major concern on Nintendo Switch; it is not suitable for gaming in the living room and on a big screen. Designed to be tactile, the best way to play it will be in nomadic mode. This problem aside, we are in front of a good puzzle game that has been carefully developed by Indieszero. A great way to kill time.

Sushi Striker: Way of Sushido is an enjoyable puzzle adventure with an excess of charm behind its silly characters and lovable premise. However, its lacklustre presentation and 3DS origins mean the overall package suffers on Nintendo Switch. It simply doesn't look very good, which is detrimental for a puzzler so reliant on its outlandish world.
Nintendo's latest RPG isn't groundbreaking in any way, but argues for its existence with wholly compelling action.
While its premise is absurd, Sushi Striker's core action/puzzle mechanics are undeniably fun and initially addictive. It wears a little thin though, with the campaign becoming laborious well before it comes to an end. Thankfully the multiplayer is superb, and is a perfect fit for both the 3DS and the Switch.
A pretty good puzzle game without new ideas, but fun after all.

Sushi Striker: The Way of the Sushido has all of the trademarks of an inventive Nintendo title, including its odd but bold story, memorable characters, and easy to pick up gameplay. Unfortunately, once you bite into it, the experience isn't as developed as it could have been. There's an attempt to expand on the action-puzzler format, and while some of the choices work, there are some ingredients that make the entire meal less than satisfying.
Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido is a fun casual game with puzzle and RPG elemets, which has an understandable addictive gameplay with a deep mechanics. A ridiculous story eventually begins to annoy with its drawn-out dialogues about nothing, but you can just skip these scenes and enjoy the gameplay.

Sushi Striker's ridiculous story and fast-paced match-three puzzle gameplay make it one of Switch's most pleasant surprises.
A relatively original and enjoyably bizarre puzzler, that seems more at home on 3DS than Switch but still offers plenty of seafood-themed fun for everyone.
If you're looking for a wacky and colourful competitive puzzler that can be enjoyed by casual and hardcore gamers alike then Sushi Striker is a solid experience.
