Forza Horizon 4: Fortune Island
Top Critic Average
It's more Forza Horizon 4, but Fortune Island has a hook that's worth its weight in gold. Turning an island into a giant scavenger hunt is the kind of allure that works perfectly with Forza Horizon. Elsewhere, completing events has its own intrinsic appeal; excelling at racing and stunts is rewarding because it's a racing and stunts game. In Fortune Island, progression brings about a sense of mystery and discovery. That's a reward that's nearly as rich as the millions of credits scattered about the island.
A good expansion that does less than expected to renew Forza Horizon 4's formula, despite doing almost everything pretty well.

While I hope the next expansion is a bit more wild, much like the Hot Wheels expansion from Forza Horizon 3 – I can still recommend this expansion as a worthwhile addition to Forza Horizon 4.
Fortune Island is a decent expansion to Forza Horizon 4 with fun new cars and challenges and some good places to race, but a lack of variety, limited new content, and a samey environment prevent it from being anything more than that.
Fortune Island fascinates you with its visuals of the aurora borealis and the extreme weather, motivates you to explore its world off-road, yet it doesn't add much to main game in both content and gameplay wise.

This could be the best expansion in Forza Horizon series, but it lacks some of the content of the base game.

The Forza Horizon 4: Fortune Island expansion is an excellent addition to an incredible game.
Forza Horizon 4‘s first DLC goes for the extreme and dangerous, a decision that’s sure to be divisive. There is something for everyone, but a lot more could have been done with it. The weather, effects, dangerous roads, and treasure chests are the best things about this expansion. The content is a bit short, and the lack of housing is disappointing for those wanting to find permanent residence. Overall, Fortune Island isn’t what you do in it, but what you do with it.
